Hi team. great work on launching lumo. on my android phone with no google playstore and only google play services running with limited access and internet access blocked by firewall, the lumo app crashes after a delay of a few seconds.

    The error reads
    'Something went wrong.
Check that Google Play is enabled on your device and that you're using an up-to-date version before opening the app...'

all other proton apps work fine on my phone

  2. Add “Auto‑Enable Web Search” Setting for Lumo Chats

Introduce a new option in Lumo’s Settings—“Auto‑Enable Web Search” (or a similarly named toggle). When activated, Lumo would automatically turn on the web‑search capability at the start of every new conversation, eliminating the need for users to manually enable it for each chat session.

    Why This Matters:

    • Seamless Experience: Users who rely on up‑to‑date information can get instant, real‑time answers without an extra step, making interactions feel more natural and efficient.

    • Consistency: Guarantees that all chats benefit from the latest data, especially for topics that change frequently (news, weather, stock prices, etc.).

    • Time Savings: Reduces repetitive actions for power users…

  3. Toggle to volunteer to help improve lumos language model

This would be opt in. If the user agreed, then warnings and such would be provided. The user would decide what information to volunteer, but certain information types would be restricted to protect the users privacy and to not compromise the values that proton is built upon. Also, proton or whoever maintains the ai language info/etc..., would have the final say before any volunteered info would be added. The exact way of doing this would need very careful considerations.

  4. An option to keep list of conversations always visible

Currently the left sidebar is collapsed by default and past conversations aren't visible. There is a button, that expands it, however that expanded state doesn't persist between reloads, and the next time Lumo is opened, it's collapsed again. For someone who returns to previous chats frequently it's a must have.

  5. New chat shortcut

It would be nice to have a new chat keyboard shortcut to avoid potential hallucinations without reaching for the mouse

  7. Removing Lumo from my Proton experience

Before you call me a Luddite, let me be clear: The original definition of a Luddite is one who did not want technology foisted upon them without consent. The AI craze has made me a loud-and-proud Luddite. Go elsewhere if you want to talk about how it's the "future" and "inevitable" in its current state.

My personal views on the viability of "ethical" GenAI aside, aside, I simply don't want to see a Lumo option in my tabs of much more useful Proton apps, like Drive, Calendar, Wallet and VPN.

Keep the cutesy purple cat out of my tabs, please,…

  9. Fix your CSP Policy

Content-Security-Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource (default-src) at https://account.proton.me/lumo because it violates the following directive: “default-src 'self'”

  10. Last Day of Month Events

Recurring events on calendar - ability to choose the last day of the month. I tried choosing the 31st of the month, but on days that don't have 31 days, the event just disappeared, rather than adjusting to the last day.

  11. Proton SMS app that uploads incoming sms to a proton drive file or a proton pass note

A very simple proton sms app that I can log in to my proton account and have it upload all incoming sms automatically (and instantly) to a file on my proton drive (or maybe a note on proton pass).
We all need a phone number tied to our identity wether that be for banks that only allow that form of authentication or other government related tasks.
With that kind of app, we could leave one phone tied to our identity permanently at home, and access received sms on any other device through our proton account. That way we would not…

  12. SynthID or similar feature

    Hi !
With the aim of having an ethical minimum for the internet and in view of the announcement of an image generation option soon added to Lumi, I think it would be good to have something like 'SynthID' implemented in Lumi to be able to detect that the generated images are indeed generated by AI, and thus make possible malicious uses of AI more difficult
Maybe its aleready in lumni but i didn't find information about it, sorry if it the case.

  13. i would like to search a calendar for all non empty instances so that i can more easily edit events.

in my specialised calendars like 'cashflow' 'garden'. I want a search option that returns 'all non empty non recurring events and the current instance of all recurring events, so that I can review the whole recurring structure more effectively.

  14. Add ability to think

It would be nice to have a "Think" feature like ChatGPT. Doesn't have to be as complete, just letting the model iterate on the solution it is going to give would be nice

  15. Restrict set of characters in output code blocks to ASCII in Lumo

Automatically restrict or give me a setting to restrict Lumo's set of characters in code blocks to the ASCII character set. In some of my ongoing conversations it has the habit of occasionally inserting:

    • (U+2011 NON-BREAKING-MINUS) instead of - (U+002D HYPHEN-MINUS)
    • (U+2026 HORIZONTAL ELLIPSIS) instead of ... (3 separate U+002E FULL STOP characters)

  16. Voice‑Assist Button: Instantly Read Lumo Replies Aloud

Introduce a dedicated Voice‑Assist button within the Lumo chat interface that, when pressed, converts the textual response generated by Lumo into spoken audio in real time. The button should be prominently positioned alongside the existing input controls, enabling users to trigger text‑to‑speech playback with a single click (or tap on mobile devices).

  17. Define the title of new chats on creation

The ability to set the title of new chats on creation instead of the default AI summary.

    e.g. - "Let's start a new chat called 'Workday Assistance 2026-01-14'."

  18. Proposal to Improve Lumo Naming and Presentation

My name is Liese, and I am a researcher and engineer who currently uses Proton Business Suite + Lumo Business as an individual user. While using the service I noticed several points of confusion that I would like to bring to your attention and suggest improvements for.

    1. Inconsistent Naming Across Plans
Lumo Plus – marketed as the premium plan for individual users.
Lumo Professional – presented as a corporate‑oriented plan.
Lumo for Business – essentially the same corporate plan but with a different name.
Having three different names for what is fundamentally the same set of capabilities makes it hard for users to determine which plan best fits…

  19. Include sources when copying

It would be useful it sources (typically URLs from web searches) would be included when copying an answer using the button right icon.
