  1. Moving chats to/between projects

It would be extremely helpful to be able to move chats to/between project folders. I usually don't have the foresight to know when something will be big enough to be a project, or I might change my mind in the future and reorganize projects. Not being able to move existing chats that have been really helpful is extremely limiting, and doesn't incentivize me to to use the Projects feature at all despite how messy my existing chat history is.

  2. ghost mode (and/or web search) saved

    Hi there,

after I started using Lumo for a while, I like to use the ghost mode by default. However, under current setting (both on webpage and on Android app) I have to switch Lumo to ghost mode (and turn on web search) every time. Can we make it a setting to use the ghost mode (and/or web search) by default? It will save a lot of effort.

    Thanks.

By the way, I like Lumo very much. After I found it, it became my main AI assistance.

  3. VSCode integration

Other LLM's like ChatGPT and Claude have integration with VSCode. It would be great to see an integration for that or another opensource IDE.

The most amazing thing would be if you can replace all the things most people use day to day with apps and have full support on Linux.

  4. Multiple windows (both emails and calendar) on Windows

When using ProtonMail, I want to be able to:
    - Open a specific email in a new (secondary) window, So that I can read that email and type in a new email in a different window.
    - Open the calendar in a new (secondary) window, So that I can look at my calender while processing emails.
    - Open multiple emails in one window each.
    - Open multiple calendar views in one window each.

All this is possible in the WEB version, but I need to use the full search feature of the local installed ProtonMail client.

  5. Lumo payment separate from my other products

Currently, to sign up for Lumo+, you must add it to your current subscription, with the same time period, so if you have a 1-year subscription, you have to pay for 1 year of Lumo, if you have a 2-year subscription, you have to pay for 2 years of Lumo up front.

The other option is to lose all the discounts on your main Proton account in order to activate Lumo+ for the new term.

For example, if you have a 2-year Duo subscription (€11.99 per month) and you only want 1 month of Lumo for both users, you have…

  6. Reoccurring tasks

I would like to see a feature where you set up a job for Lumo, like "summarize the news" (ofcourse with a more finegraded prompt), using web search, with an option to make it reoccurring, like a calendar event, for example every day at 7am.
Lumo would then message me on its own, with the latest findings.
This could be used in many ways.

  7. Make Lumo Less Dumb

As a paid Lumo subscriber, there's no kind way of putting this -- Lumo feels really dumb compared to any of the other mainstream LMMs. It struggles to follow and keep up with conversations once they exceed a handful of back-and-forth exchanges, it frequently hallucinates and confabulates, it gets easily confused to the point where I'm having to help it rather than it helping me, and it just generally feels like conversing with a well-meaning but addled, confused elderly person. As such, I use it sparingly to brainstorm ideas or just have quick chats but cannot rely on it for…

  8. Please list reference links for various parts of the answer

It would be great if the Lumo AI would include web links with all answers referencing where answers came from and/or where further direct research could be carried out. Perplexity offers this functionality and I really like it because it allows you to put a little more trust in the quality of the answers.

  9. Wider response area (smaller margins)

On a tablet or portrait monitor, the response should take up the full width - currently there is a lot of wasted space on each side, with the response in a narrow center block.

On larger screens, I still find it too cramped - especially with rich results such as tables. Tables are often very compressed and hard to read.

  11. Feature Request: “Auto‑Websearch” / “Always Enable Websearch” in the Personalization Tab

    Hey Proton team,

thanks for the awesome Lumo 1.2 update! The new personalization options are super handy. To make Lumo’s answers truly real‑time, could you add a toggle under Personalization called “auto‑websearch” (or “always enable websearch”)?

When turned on, Lumo would automatically pull in up‑to‑date info for any query that needs fresh data—no extra steps required. This would be a game‑changer for users who rely on accurate, real‑time responses.

    Appreciate the consideration!

  12. I would like to see Lumo become as good as ChatGPT is today.

It’s hard to avoid using LLMs now - they work, and they help a great deal in a very demanding world. But something as good as ChatGPT is also a direct link between a corporation and my brain (unfortunately, it’s one-way only). Over time, they’ll have enough information about me - my work, my character, my hobbies, my thoughts… if they don’t already. That gives them a computer-brain interface, one that can be used to program my mind (if you’re into neuroscience and brain chemistry, you’ll know what I’m talking about). After all, people are programmed by their environment-and more…

  13. Option to change avatar

I wanted to suggest adding an option to customise or hide the default cat avatar. I'm not much of a cat person, so having the ability to change or turn it off entirely would be a great improvement.

Please allow us to import chat history from other big commercial cloud hosted LLMs to ease transition and not lose all the information prior LLMs gleaned from us, what we are doing, what is important to us, etc.

  15. Code blocks with syntax highlighting

I think Lumo could benefit from code blocks (similar to what Claude has) that have syntax highlighting. Lumo already supports some Markdown syntax features, so it would make sense to add code blocks that are made up of the triple backticks with an optional language next to the starting backticks.

I currently find it very hard to add code to Lumo when asking for information, debugging, or code edits.

  16. Allow anonymous data sharing

I know that Proton doesn't create/train its own AI model, but a good european alternative would be nice to see. As unpleasant as this might be, to create a good model, lots of data is needed. A great app is worth nothing without good models. The current market leader, openAI, uses user data to train their models and have a huge advantage.

If my data is ever used for training, I want to give it to a company I trust (or think I can trust) to handle them carefully. And this is you. I would like to see the option…

  17. Add "Green" and "Research" Search Modes

When searching in Lumo, users should be allowed to toggle on different types of searches, such as:
    1. Green - a search that uses less environmental energy to generate an answer
    2. Research - a search that goes deeper and uses reputable sources (similar to the Research function already present in Mistral AI's Le Chat)

  18. Emphasize that user data is never used to train AI models

From the Lumo "Getting started" webpage: "Information you enter is never used to train AI models." I think this should be emphasized more and expounded on, perhaps giving scenarios using both Lumo and other AI chatbots. (It looks like a no-brainer choice, to me, of which bot to use given that all the other ones (Maybe not DuckAssist?) exploit you and your data/thoughts.) While the privacy mantra of Proton is well-known and can be assumed, that's no reason to be subtle.

  19. Use better open-source ai models.

    Dear Proton Team,

I would like to propose integrating several high-quality open-source AI models into the Lumo platform. These models align with Proton’s core values of privacy, transparency, and user data sovereignty, while offering excellent performance and flexibility.

The recommended models include GPT-OSS 120B, LLaMA 3, DeepSeek-V3, Mistral 8x22B, and BLOOM. These models stand out because they are open source, enabling complete self-hosting and customization. This means Proton can maintain full control over user data, keeping all processing within secured European data centers, aligned with Proton’s zero-access policy and strong privacy commitments.

GPT-OSS 120B offers powerful capabilities close to proprietary…

  20. Combine the lumo plan with mail and drive plan.

Right now, I am paying for proton family, but the subscription does not carry over to Lumo. It wants me to pay for Lumo separately. Why doesn't proton combine them so that one subscription covers everything?
