  1. Set the event time in the title

This suggestion would allow a user to enter the following name in the event name:
    "19:00h Dinner with mom"
And the calendar would add an event called "Dinner with mom" the selected day at 18:00.

  2. Android: Alarm should override silent mode/alarm should sound in silent mode

Similar to Android's "Simple Calendar" I need the Proton Calendar's alarms for events to sound even in silent mode. Simple Calendar can do this. I think it might be related to an advanced option (that's not available in Proton Calendar) to "allow setting alarms and reminders", but I'm not sure.

I need this because my phone is usually on silent but I still need to be able to hear the calendar alerts.

    Thanks!

  3. Support for alternative calendars formats (Hijri, Jewish, Hindu, etc)

As the title mentions, it would be great to have support for alternative calendars. I frequently need to consider dates from the Hijri calendar (in addition to Gregorian), so it would be nice to be able to see dates from both Hijri and Gregorian at the same time.

  4. Delete outdated calendar entries

I want to make a calendar that will delete its contents after X time has passed from the date planned.

I think that this will reduce the load on Proton's servers and be in line with the right to be forgotten.

  5. Auto-rotate on mobile devices

It would be great if I could open the app properly when I use my tablet with a keyboard or something like that.

  6. Set the hour automatically from the title of an event

Google Calendar has a very intuitive feature that allows to gain a lot of time when creating multiple events in a calendar.

If I type "16:00 Dentist", the hour automatically sets on 16:00 and ends after the default duration.
If I type "16:00-18:00 Dentist", the beginning and ending hour are automatically set.

It works also for other formats, such as 16h-18h, 4pm-6pm...

I just moved from Google to Proton and this is the one main feature I am missing.

    Please consider introducing it :)

    Thank you!

  7. Forward calendar events

I'd like to have a way to take a specific event, or a series of events, and forward it to someone else. Similar to how Outlook does it. This person will get a calendar invite and the owner will get an email telling them their calendar invite was forwarded.

  8. Better support for tablets

I'm using a Galaxy Tab S7 and I love the Samsung calendar app, however would really like to switch to Proton Calendar. However it is just not made to be usable on a tablet. I would like to see:

    • Support for landscape view
    • Formatting choices to enlarge/shrink the week/month view
    • Support for S Pen, iPencil, etc
    • See notes written with S Pen on the tablet when viewing the calendar through the web

  9. Dim past events

Hello, a nice to have, still optional, would be the possibility to dim the past events color bars.

  10. Sync Proton Calendar with Google contacts, but optionally not modify Google contacts

Contact-Calendar programs such as E-Z Contact Book for Windows allows you to save reminders in the contacts. Proton Calendar should be able to sync with Google contacts, but optionally not modify Google contacts, and update to include all reminders in contacts not just birthdays and anniversaries.

  12. One-click events

I find when scheduling things like my work shifts it is very tedious to have to enter every field over and over again when the only thing that changes is the dates. But my schedule fluctuates too much for me to schedule it as a recurring event. It would be nice to be able to save a pre-configured event like "Day-shift" and then just be able to drag and drop it on the days I work the day shift.

  13. Agenda view for widget

The calendar widget shows the current day only. I'm not such a busy person that I have multiple private appointments per day. What I would need is an agenda view, a list of either the next X events, or a list of all events in the next X days.

  14. (1) Ability to change fonts sizes, bold, italics, underlining and dot-points. (2) Add attachments.

    (1) Calendar event description need to be made more readable to all agendas and more information. We need to be able to change the font sizes and styles.
    (2) We need the ability to attach files to events as pre-reading or topics of discussion.

  15. Hierarchical calendars

Similar to how folders work in Proton Mail, you should be able to have a parent-and-child system to manage calendars you created in Proton Calendar. For example, you can have a parent "School" calendar with all the classes as child calendars, and within the Proton Calendar app, you can enable or disable all the calendars by toggling the parent, or manually toggle the child calendars. From what I've seen, this is a unique feature and would be super helpful for when it comes to organizing calendars.

  16. Creating invites in a shared calendar

I created a shared family calendar and made multiple people able to edit it. I was surprised to find when trying to invite others to an event on that calendar it explicitly warns- Creating invites in a shared calendar is not allowed. Why not?

  17. Private invites

I couldn't find this in the list of existing posts. When we send out a meeting invite, we'd like to be able to manage it as a group of recipients but those recipients should only see their individual invites. We don't want recipients to see the entire email list.

We could hide it behind a mailing list but then we can't see who has accepted the invite and who rejected it.

  18. Calendar view starting today

The week view currently shows the whole week with all past days visible.

Looking at the calendar, the past days are mostly useless, and you have to click through to the next week to see the next one.

For planning and previewing future events, it would be good to have today's day displayed first and then the following 3/5/7 (depending on user settings).

  19. Android's Calendar API integration

Android's Calendar API should be incorporated into Proton Calendar, because without that it lacks some fundamental features.

First, if you click a calendar event link, there is no option to open it in Proton Calendar, since it doesn't plug into that intent.

Second, widgets and great launchers (like Niagara) do not see Proton as a calendar, so its events can not be shown. Proton's calendar widget is nice, but it would be much better to have total freedom about launchers and widgets integrate.

  20. Add more holiday calendars!

I am aware that a similar request already exists about holidays. I think that more calendars should be created and made available to suit specific user subgroups. For example; individual religious calendars to add in Bhuddist, Christian, Islamic, Jewish, and Shinto observances. Another one for bank holidays, another one for groups like UK holidays, EU holidays (US Holidays already exists), and then subgroups for individual national holidays. This would give users a wide range of flexibility without daunting complexity or the clutter and constraint of a few add-ins of large groups of holidays.
