1. Integrate Standard Notes Premium plan with Proton Unlimited

   Hopefully I'm not being greedy, but wouldn't it be possible to integrate the premium features of Standard Notes, which are absolutely brilliant, with Proton Unlimited? In my opinion, it feels appropriate now that SN is part of the Proton family, and, in fact, it already works that way in the case of SimpleLogin.

3. There could be more cryptocurrency options

   Users can already pay by Bitcoin. However Bitcoin isn't the most private nor cheapest cryptocurrency to use. I suggest Proton paid plans could be paid with other cryptocurrencies such as Monero, Litecoin, Etherium and Bitcoin Cash.

4. Pay per GB

   Pay for EXACTLY the storage that you used in a month, instead of having to bump plans with *** GB increments - and serious price increases.

   Proton uses limits to extract maximum consumer surplus and force new plans on people, when all they want is just more storage. This is just like commercial companies, and leaves a bad taste.

   The better approach is to align consumer value and producer cost : pay for what you use, with a standard cost-plus premium. It's not how you make the most money, agreed - but it is how you build a loyal user base.

   This can the max usage hit per month, but it would be nicer if it was calculated per day, invoiced per month. With post-pay you never have to worry about running out of storage. Another option would be standard (smaller) increments, reserved up front (pre-pay).

   I have a suggestion that I believe would greatly benefit Proton's global user base: expanding the accepted currencies for payments beyond EUR, CHF, and USD. Proton has a growing international community, and allowing payments in additional local currencies would make it more convenient for users across the globe.

8. Add-on Proton Service (Customize Plan) not directly to Unlimited Plan

   Need proton to allow me to customize plan as per my need. Currently, I have monthly subscription to Proton mail and I want to use Proton Pass but not Proton VPN. The only way to get another service (proton pass, in my case) with an existing service (proton mail, in my case) is by upgrading to Unlimited plan which cost USD 12.99 for a month (USD 10 per month for yearly plan effectively USD 120 for 12 months in one go) I don't have that lump sum money parked in my account. Also, I'm residing in India just think about PPP and the kind of charges I have to pay.

   Solution suggesting

   -Accept payment in INR and other currency, or
   -Allow to buy individual service for people who are not that wealthy to buy yearly subscription
   -Also, option to changing billing date instead of cancelling and then pay to begin new billing cycle

9. Appropriate fees should be determined specifically for countries with high inflation.

   In countries with high inflation, paying with Dollars or Euros costs too much compared to the currency of that country. For such countries, special low fees must be determined and payment must be made in the local currency.

10. Ability to modify billing dates

    I want to have the option of changing the billing dates for future renewals: e.g. changing a biannual renewal from the 17th of August to the 1st of August. I have contacted Proton about this and it is not currently available nor in development.

11. Reward for support system

    A win-win system: You can offer a membership for supporters - when they register and pay for example 8 €/month ( 1 € for you, 2 € fe for planting trees, 5 € for rewarding those who recommended protonmail to them - 5 level up). They get rewarded 1 € each from 5 level deep and each month can see exactly how much they care for others and support them. It needs few words or a little video to explain and connects people worldwide.
    Everyone can create an income of a few 100 € - or more - easyly.

    I sent three cancellation emails, had one consultation with a counselor about the cancellation, and received a confirmation of the cancellation. However, the card payment was still not cancelled, and I had no choice but to pay the card payment amount. I am very disappointed and angry with your handling. Is your 30-day cancellation promise a lie?

14. SWITCHING OUT PAYMENT CARDS?

    So my bank replaced my card, as they regularly do, but I can find NO place at all within the proton website to CHANGE my card. It's asking me to make a payment for my renewal, which I can't do because the card on file is no longer a valid card. It's 2024 and I can't CHANGE the card on file?

15. Warn user about adding a card payment option if they have ProtonVPN on

    When user adds a card payment option, they are most likely redirected to their bank's web service to verify the action. Many banks have strict automated monitoring that may lock the card when an action seems suspicious.

    Using a VPN may trigger such lock on the bank's side for various reasons.

    For a real-life example, your VPN might be using a server located in different region than your real region and the verification process may require you to use another device (like your phone) which might not be using a VPN. On bank's side, this may look like someone is adding a card from region X, while confirming the action from region Y, looking suspicious enough for locking the card.

    Unlocking the card depends solely on the bank and in bad cases it may take multiple days.

    Understandably, Proton cannot know how each bank's verification process works, but Proton provides a VPN service and they could potentially reliably detect when user is using their VPN.

    On the "add card" dialog, showing a warning "Looks like you are using ProtonVPN. Beware, that some banks may apply restrictions on cards due to VPN traffic", could help the user to weigh the situation before proceeding forward. For example, user could have forgotten their VPN on and unknowingly cause themselves trouble.

    The warning could also alternatively be shown all the time without attempting to detect VPN usage: "If you are using a VPN. Beware, that..."

16. Add fine-grained tracking of account billing linked to user changes

    For business users, currently changes in users result in changes in invoices / billing, however there's history to revisit showing "X user started on X date" to be able to reconcile history when managing multiple domains under one account.

19. Billing Role

    Proton have member and admin roles but it does not have a billing role.

    I'm proposing the creation of the billing role giving permission to:

    1. Manage payment media (ex: add/replace credit card)
    2. See and download bills

    Nice to have: Option to send by email bills directly to billing contacts

    Why?
    Accounting departments must to get the bills and it is a waste of time for sysadmins to have to login, download and send the bill by email to accounting.
