Bitcoin Cash payment option
Bitcoin transactions fees are now too much, and it may take up to a few hours for a transaction to be confirmed. There's a payment system, which is nearly same of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash. Its devs have a better vision "low fees, 1 block (10 minutes) transaction confirm time." If you haven't heard of it, here (https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/58969/38618) you can see that many wallets support it.
Kind regards.
We plan on adding additional payment options in the forward.

I appreciate that Proton accepts any crypto, but Bitcoin is just not suited for these small transactions. I wish it were, but it's not. BCH or pretty much any other crypto would be better. Case in point, in order to pay my $60 annual subscription, I could either pay a 10% fee to get a confirmation within a day(!!) or 1% (still high) and it has not yet confirmed...

Okay, so this has been 2 years later since last response from ProtonMail Team. When are you guys going to add additional payment options? In particular, Dash and Bitcoin Cash?

+1 Please add Bitcoin Cash and Dash. Dash has a nice instantsend feature which offers near instant transaction confirmation. It is more secure than Bitcoin Core since it's almost impossible to 51% attack with masternodes.
Both BCH and Dash offer reliable transaction times at negligible fees. Both are viable options as a replacement to BTC.

If proton Mail was smart they would expert all Crypto Currency and most other methods of payment.

Seriously guys... I support you with two paid accounts and push your services through my business but you have zero excuse here.
I pay posteo a dollar a month. I send an envelope with cash. Sometimes I do so creatively.
I've got bitcoin on a wallet filled with ATM fed money, and the very idea if Protonmail leading the way with all these services ....I have nothing to say in answer to these concerned people. They're right.
If you can't offer anonymous payment options, and soon, I'm gonna have to bounce too.
Hell. You might as well put "yep your account will be tied to you if an agency wants it" on your front page.
Encrypted or no, get with the program. I donate. I'll purchase a pro bundle for 3 years and buy someone else a year.
IF YOU WOULD STOP FORCING PEOPLE TO SURRENDER THEUR FINANCIAL CREDENTIALS.STOP THAT. YOU ALREADY SAID THAT.
NO NOT THAT EITHER.
NONSENSE.Allow credits to be posted up to $100 US cash via mail for God's sake, if they lose it that's tough.
As far as bitcoin....
You just look plain bad not making that effort.Seriously. You're making me work TOO hard to push your products.

Not that smart about cryptocurrencies, but would like to support ProtonMail financially
(and now ProtonDrive) IF I could do it anonymously. Don't care WHICH cryptocurrency,
just pick one that works and is anonymous. -

Solchen Bitcoin Krempel würde ich auf keinen Fall unterstützen, warum auch. Wer so einen Dienst aufzieht soweiß was für Kosten auf Ihn zukommen da muss man nicht noch als User daherkommen und Geld reinstecken.

I second this suggestion as well.
Bitcoin availability in the Proton Mail wallet is a must.
Just as you allow payments through PayPal, Bitcoin cash is a must as well. But they need to ensure that only such crypto-currencies be allowed that are legit and have transaparency in their operation.

bitcoin and its derivative chains have been proven to be able to be tracked..
You want to link your secure email account identity straight to your crypto funds??If anything use one that they haven't been able to trace yet like Monero

I was browsing the upgrade options, am interested in getting support for two domains (trying to de-google). If protonmail accepted BCH I'd upgrade right now, will upgrade immediately if/when it's added. I came here to suggest adding it and it looks like it's been suggested a lot before. 0-conf on BCH is trustable after several seconds, it really is a great payment option!

Most of these comments can be distilled down to:
"I would value your product and vision if..."
A. you help us launder our cryptocurrency.
B. you spend your investors fiat currency on providing fungibility for our contentious cryptocurrencyIf you have BHC and want a Proton account, its fallacy to claim that direct BHC is the only way, many exchanges support BCH to fiat.
I am sure there are more than enough cryptography experts at Proton to adequately assess the value proposition of which, if any, cryptocurrency they will accept.

Where payments are concerned I disagree based on the following points:
- Accepting cryptocurrency pushes the cost of exchange to fiat onto Proton Mail.
- BHC is only a pseudonymous blockchain, I suspect it would be less private for users, surely other cryptocurrencies would be better suited to serve the privacy use case?
Where donations are concerned:
Sure, seems harmless, but why not accept multiple currencies? I see the benefit for BHC holders but not for Proton to exclusively engage them when multi currency tip jar solutions exist.
