Shamir secret sharing
How about Shamir Secret Sharing for the account recovery key (and/or the main password)?
Thus I won't have to choose between storing the key in one place with higher risk of loosing it and storying multiple copies with higher risk of having it stolen.
Posted a twit about it as well a while ago: https://x.com/jalooc/status/1816154249551831379

A single login address
I suggest that if we have multiple addresses/aliases on our account, we should be able to choose which ones we can log in with. That would greatly improve our security and privacy. This is possible on other sites like Outlook, where you can have multiple aliases but choose only one to log in with.
Then we could have one address/alias only for login and it would never be shared with anyone or any website.
Or again, if we have aliases to register on sites that are not trusted, they could never use that address to try to log in to…

Proton playing a service provider role in the IDAS 2.0 EU framework?
Dear proton, members, not sure whether this idea has been posted/thought about before: The European EIDAS 2.0 regulation has been approved in April 2024, and member states now have started the IT design and implementation. EIDAS 2.0 withe EUID wallet concept means opportunities but also privacy concerns with respect to saving electronic identities, certification, health information etc (e.q. everything one can store in de EUID wallet and exchange with other parties). I'd like (love) to see organisations such as Proton play a vital provider role with the EIDAS 2.0 frame work - such as the Wallet Provider role and the…

Proton Pass: Option to force use of email address or username
Proton Pass often presents the wrong information when populating authentication forms.
One workaround involves removing the email address formally associated with the account. Then Proton Pass correctly supplies the authentication form with the username rather than the email address.
However, removing the formal email address value from the Proton Pass login record makes it harder to track and organize my accounts.
When both an email address and a username are supplied on a Proton Pass login record, please provide an option to deem one or the other as the default authentication identifier.

Proton Pass: Poor UX with password confirmation fields
When a website requests confirmation of the account's current password, then Proton Pass very often fails to populate the field with the current password. Instead, Proton Pass always attempts to generate a new password.
Please present an option to populate with the current password, before assuming that I want to generate passwords.
The current UX is risky. Password confirmation tends to coincide specifically with account actions involving changing account email addresses, changing account passwords, chancing account usernames, and/or changing 2FA options. It's easy to accidentally submit a generated password for fields that really need the old password.
This can lock…

Error too many aliases created recently
Hi,
I am a Proton Unlimited subscriber.
I am trying to go through all my Internet accounts and assign a unique email address alias to each one.
However, after creating only a handful of aliases, Proton complains of too many aliases.
As a paying customer, I find this minuscule rate limit unproductive.

Offer/integrate Support for "UnifiedPush" Push Notifications on Android Systems
Looking to have support for UnifiedPush notifications, or similar ability to receive push notifications on Proton android apps.
This would vastly improve connectivity for users who opt not to use Google Services on their device, which is a growing number.
Similar projects like The Signal Foundation allow to push notifications/check servers at the cost of battery, which would be fine in this context as well.
Thank you for all you do

Curated unitary suggestions list
Since there are a lot of suggestions which are non unitary leading to duplicates and overlaps, it would be useful to get a true vision of the priorities if Proton Admins could create a curated list for people to vote on.

Splitting sent emails.
I want to send the same email to multiple people but I want them to be sent separately. I don't want them to BCC. I just want everyone to get the same email but not see who else it was sent to.

Honeypot password
Introduce the option for users to set a ‘honeypot’ password. In situations where they are under physical threat, users could provide this password, giving the appearance of accessing the real account. However, this would trigger a hidden operation, such as displaying a fake inbox, sending an alert to a third party for immediate assistance, or even initiating a complete system lockdown.

Deleting email using Thunderbird
Can I do this or is it a "new" idea? According to my online research, the following is true:
"Deleting Emails in Bulk (Using Bridge); As a paying customer, you can use ProtonMail Bridge to connect your email client (e.g., Thunderbird) to your ProtonMail account. In your email client, select the emails you want to delete and use the client’s built-in mass deletion feature. Note that this method requires you to have an email client installed and configured." Is this correct?1 vote -
Proton Mail: Automatically populate filter name from email subject
When I click on the funnel to create a filter based on an email, it would be convenient to automatically suggest a filter name equivalent to the email's subject line.
I create dozens of filters with similar values, so having to manually copy and paste the subject line for each individual filter creation wizard is slower than necessary.

The cheapest website builder and hosting platform that lists pricing in that countries money.
Could you do such a thing that would help all create their own sites that are in fact the cheapest in the world, much like wix with blank templates so we can drop and click where we want so we can create awesome websites that would be a cut above the rest with no restriction on content, is this possible?

Clean online identity
Proton is focused on privacy and is doing a great job. It would be great to see all sites and services that proton account is used to. In this way it would be easy to login to these websites and delete the account
Having a dashboard for online security would be fantastic!

ProtonVPN: Support built-in port forwarding customization
ProtonVPN requires a substantial amount of effort by the user, installing WireGuard, Python3, and a pip package, for port forwarding. And the port forwarding is limited to targeting a single region.
Please add port forwarding support to the plain ProtonVPN client. That would greatly simplify the user experience.
