Let users choose which emails trigger notifications (by sender, recipient/alias , label, or folder)
User story:
As a Proton Mail user, I want to CONTROL WHICH EMAILS TRIGGER PUSH NOTIFICATIONS so that I’m only alerted about messages that require my immediate attention.
I want to enable notifications only for certain senders, recipients/aliases, labels, or folders, so I don’t get distracted by unimportant emails.
I also want the option to REVERSE this logic—receiving notifications only for emails that aren’t labelled or sorted, such as personal or unexpected messages.
Ultimately, a filter system for notifications, giving users the same flexibility they already have for organising their inboxes.
This would make notifications more relevant, REDUCE NOISE, and…

Proton ZeroTrust Gateway
Product Concept Proton Zero‑Trust Gateway
Vision
Proton already protects outbound traffic through its VPN, giving users privacy and security when they connect to the internet. The next logical step is to give them the same level of confidence for inbound connections—letting them expose services (websites, APIs, SSH, RDP, IoT endpoints, etc.) without ever having to open ports or configure complex NAT rules. A “Zero‑Trust Gateway” would sit at the edge of a user’s network, authenticate every request, enforce fine‑grained policies, and only forward traffic that meets those policies to the private host.
Core Pillars
Identity‑First Access – Every inbound request must…

Title Use Proton Custom Items as an encrypted bookmark manager Category Feature request Description Proton already provides Proton Custom
Title
Use Proton Custom Items as an encrypted bookmark managerCategory
Feature requestDescription
Proton already provides Proton Custom Items, a zero‑access‑encrypted database that lets users define arbitrary fields, filter, sort, and share rows. By creating a simple schema (Title, URL, Tags, Notes, Added Date, Last Visited) users can build a fully searchable, encrypted bookmark collection that syncs across web, iOS, Android, and desktop.
Why this works today
All data is encrypted end‑to‑end, matching Proton’s privacy guarantees.
Structured fields enable fast lookup (e.g., “show me all bookmarks tagged privacy added last month”).
Lumo can be used to add, retrieve, or query bookmarks via natural‑language prompts.

Host Proton Membership Giveaways Events on the Proton Discord Server
Instead of just random giveaways where people click a button and wait, Proton could host fun events on their Discord like message battles, trivia games, or mini competitions. For example, whoever sends the most messages in a set time wins a free Proton membership. These kinds of events boost real engagement & get people talking. It’s more fun, more active, and way better than just relying on luck.
They already have a Discord server & just adding a bot and a channel for events could make a big difference.

Windows: Open ics file should create the event automatically in Proton Calendar
It is not currently possible to set Proton Calendar as default calendar app on Windows.
An easy workaround would be to set Proton as the default app to open .ics file, so that double clicking on a downloaded ics file opens it in Proton Mail/Calendar and adds the event. At the moment the only way is top drag & drop the file on Proton Calendar, which is annoying when done from the web browser.

Proton Rumble channel to mirror YouTube
Proton should create an official Rumble channel and upload its YouTube videos there as well.
Over the past several years, Rumble has established itself as a YouTube alternative that is solidly pro-freedom, anti-censorship, and NOT OWNED BY GOOGLE!
It might be necessary to be on YouTube to attract the most eyeballs, but many people who use platforms like Rumble to distance themselves from Big Tech are the same users who will resonate with Proton's privacy-conscious mission.
The amount of extra effort it takes to upload content to a 2nd platform is miniscule compared to the time and expense invested in…

Adding Arc Browser to Proton’s Privacy-Focused Portfolio
The Arc Browser represents an ideal complement to the Proton ecosystem due to its strong commitment to privacy, security, and innovative user experience design. Built on a Chromium foundation yet differentiated by its privacy-first approach, Arc disables intrusive telemetry and fingerprinting by default, ensuring that user data remains protected and browsing habits uncompromised. The browser incorporates built-in ad and tracker blocking functionality without requiring complex configurations, further reinforcing its dedication to safeguarding user privacy.
Arc’s unique features, such as its vertical sidebar and workspace management system called "Spaces," enhance productivity and efficiency by providing superior tab organization and intuitive navigation.…

Setup custom duration instead of the default 30s for 2FA
I'd like to generate 2FA code using a different time span.
It's particularly useful when using other algorithms than the standard one.4 votes -
Show the server's city in the Linux App.
California is a big place with at least two server locations. Differentiating between the two in the GUI would be nice, and I'm sure California isn't the only region that would benefit from some specificity.

Reduce # of clicks to move a message
Hi there! When I highlight a message and click the "Move" option, a list of folders is presented, requiring a second click on the chosen folder and a third click on the Move button.
It would be faster to double-click the appropriate folder in order to move the message. Alternatively, as you type in the filter box, when the correct folder name is displayed, allow the user to hit the Enter key to move the item to the displayed folder.
It takes a cursor move + 2 extra clicks to move an item to the desired folder. Having used Gmail…

Compact folder view in ProtonMail Windows app
The vertical distance between folders in the left sidebar of the winows app for Proton Mail is so large that one needs to scroll a lot just to navigate between a few folders. Please add an option to tighten up the vertical separation to allow more folders to fit i.e., some kind of compact view, perhaps with a few variations such as very compact view.

Crowdsource funding for Proton Spreadsheet. I (and others) would give $100 right now.
A spreadsheet is the only thing keep google customers from infusing cash to Proton. This is a business error. Instead of only votes, create crowdfunded initiatives. I would give $100 immediately (I'm poor) to fund this initiative. Voting is nice, crowdsourced money to do a job that you know takes x amount of hours. No brainer.

Single Linux yum repo for all Proton apps
Right now the Proton VPN can be installed from a Linux yum repo. For example: https://repo.protonvpn.com/fedora-42-stable/
This is great, because to update it, all I have to do is run "sudo dnf update", and if there is a new version of Proton VPN available, it gets updated. However, all the other Proton Linux apps (Pass, Authenticator, and the Mail beta) get installed by individual rpm downloads. Which means, if I want to update them, I have to download each rpm individually and re-install it to get the upgrade.
There should be one single yum repo for ALL proton apps, so…

Rename mobile apps
The current apps on Android all have the prefix "Proton <App>". Personally, I'm not a fan. My app drawer has all apps under the letter P and it doesn't matter what function the app has. I would expect Drive under D, Mail under M, Calender under C etc.
I would like the apps to be renamed to e.g. "Drive by Proton", translated to each language so the apps show up where the other apps with the corresponding function are.

Sign Photos with My Proton Mail Key (like Guardian Project’s ProofMode)
What I want:
A single “Sign with Proton” action that works everywhere—when I’m composing in Mail, uploading to Drive, or sharing a file from any third‑party app (camera, scanner, office suite). It should use the exact private key I already have for signing Proton Mail messages, just like the Guardian Project’s ProofMode signs photos and videos. Why it matters:
One key, all files – One cryptographic identity protects my emails, documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, photos, and videos.
Traditional document signing – The same PGP/ECC signature that lawyers and businesses trust for contracts can now be applied to any file without leaving Proton.

Option to copy to different calendar and make modifiable.
I often receive calendar invitations like "John meeting", where my name is John. When Lesley sends me such a calendar entry I would want to change it to "Lesley+John meeting" and having many John meetings in my calendar is unhelpful.
I understand that it makes some sense that for me the meeting is read only (but overriding that would open up other useful options).
So I ask Proton to allow me copy the event into my calendar, and modify the copy. Thanks in advance.4 votes
