Official F-droid Repository
Hello,
It would be nice to have an official F-droid repo for all protonapps.
This way all apps would easily stay up-to-date without using the google playstore (or the aurore store)
Thanx for considering!

Please add APKs in Github releases for Obtainum users, like VPN and mail already do.
Consider putting your apps on the Accresent Store aswell. -

I recently tried uploading via both Brave and Firefox on my Linux. What an exercise in frustration or practice in anger management.
The Android works far better, more stable and faster. Unfortunately I'll never know when there is an update for the app because Proton only takes a project so far and gives up.
You need to find a way to notify the users when apps installed through protonapp have an update.
You have many options: Add app updates to your blog, A RSS feed for protonapps, RSS feed for your Github.Of course the best option is publishing your own repo on F-Droid.
Most apps I've tried will not install from Aurora on GOS. -

The publication of apk's is highly inconsistent. Some only appear on protonapps.com (Calendar, Drive, Wallet), some only on google play (Authenticator, Lumo), some both on protonapps and on f-droid (VPN, Pass), some on protonapps and github (Mail, VPN). Please make this consistent.
Those of us on GrapheneOS often use Obtainium for .apk's. With Obtainium, the following solutions work:
(1) include the version number on the protonapps page, so we can identify when the app needs to be updated. Automated or no, right now we can't tell. It would work just as well if the version number were included in the .apk URL. Note this request:
https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/50070162-improve-app-versioning-in-protonapps-com(2) publish everything to github. Note this request:
https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/48103700-include-android-apks-in-all-github-releases(3) publish everything to f-droid, which is this request. This is not optimal unless you're doing reproducible builds and keeping your own keys.

Please do this, Proton. Either a repository or more apps supported officially on F-Droid. I'm very sad that Proton is the one thing keeping me in the Google ecosystem, very ironically.

I would prefer Accrescent over F-droid due to the many security issues on the latter

Installing Proton apps without using Google Play spyware is quite complicated without official Proton F-droid repository.
I ended up using F-droid to install Obtainium app, which allows installing apps from Proton apk or official Proton Github and keeping it up-to-date from same source. I have used these links in Obtainium:
https://proton.me/download/DriveAndroid/ProtonDrive-Android.apk
https://github.com/ProtonMail/android-mail
https://github.com/ProtonVPN/android-app
then unable to find Pass, I had to install Pass unofficial (F-droid packed) package from F-droid. Took me like 30 minutes to figure out correct, official URLs. -

Even if it's not an entire repo, more Proton apps on F-droid at all would be greatly appreciated.
(And, if not, timely GitHub updates...) -

If somebody from the Admin, Software and Product as looking at this comment. One thing you may not have realised is that it's quite likely that companies that have been shut out of the Android and iOS stores or simply don't wish to enter it due to fees and other restrictions that can randomly be pointed onto to users and the companies operating and maintaining the apps is that, major corporation like Huawei, Xiaomi/Poco, Realme, OnePlus, Nothing et al could properly utilize F-droid and having a number of the Proton AG eco systems inside the F-Droid repository would be be a great advocate to inviting other major companies to push other crucial software/apps without be heavily reliant on the other aforementioned stores.

Proton VPN and Proton Pass apps are now available on F-Droid, so this ticket can be closed as completed.

Great Idea, It would make it easier for users to access and update the apps while providing an added layer of trust and security, knowing they’re directly from Proton. As a user myself, I appreciate the convenience and peace of mind that comes with official repositories. However, I also recognize that setting up and maintaining one requires resources and support from Proton. It would be great to hear more from the community on this

Having an official F-Droid repo would mitigate the security problems with the main repository. At least you can download the individual apks from their official site using Obtainium. However, I think Proton should focus on the (currently in development) Accrescent store instead.

I have had a paid Proton account for many years, and De-Googling my life is difficult enough as it is.
Please fix this, and publish all Apps via FDroid. I need auto updates for apps, and aurora is unreliable in general.
Thanks

I am a Proton user with the visionary plan for my family and we are using google-free and open source LineageOS (no google store) + F-Droid app store + five Proton apps installed on our Android devices.
We are very happy with the complete open source system, for us it is possible and convenient only thanks to the Proton ecosystem.
It is great that ProtonVPN and Proton Pass are already available from the F-Droid app store's official repository! Though only after the "Include anti-feature apps" --> "Other Anti-features" option is enabled from the F-Droid settings (why is that?).
All other Proton apps are available only by manually downloading the apk files from the Proton's homepage - it is not only unconvenient especially if many devices/family members but there is also a risk some apps stay outdated for a very long period of time like happened to me.. Therefore it could be also considered as a security risk?
I am surprised that open source Proton has not got it's own android and linux repositories yet. Not a difficult task, or is it?
Proton has won it's users trust for being open source, it would be nice if it could promote the open source philosophy by supporting the open source community itself? Strange is e.g there is still no Proton Drive client for the Linux platform etc.
Looking patiently very much forward to good news!
