  1. Report commonly used passwords

    As a security minded user, I want to be warned when my password matches one from a breach, even if the username / email address is unrelated, so that I can protect my accounts from credential stuffing.

    Example username agnostic password lookup service:

    I imagine that Proton Pass can add some new, ID decoupled queries to its existing breach data sources that would fulfill the same need.

  2. Bad placeholder image for Proton Mail

    The placeholder image presented while Proton Mail loads, makes it appear like the inbox is teeming with very many email conversations, even when the inbox is empty. This happens with the Unread filter active, for example. When Proton Mail finally finishes loading, then it suddenly rips off the placeholder to reveal an empty inbox. I find this misleading, confusing, and visually jarring.

    Please select a more neutral placeholder image, such as simply the Proton logo.

  3. Stop resetting preferred Proton Mail view

    Unlike Gmail, Proton Mail does a terrible job persisting preferences about the default view, specifically the preference to restrict results to Unread.

    Every time I visit the website it forgets the preference.

    Every time I hit the Proton Mail refresh button it forgets the preference.

    Every time I relaunch the mobile app it forgets the preference.

    Frankly this platform is beset by hundreds of simple UX screwups that management evidently cares not to fix. Don't use Proton use a competitor.

  4. add to account page --- list of purchased Proton features and subscription date

    Request that Protn add to our personal account page - what our subscription consists of; a LIST of subscription puchased features AND the experation date of said purchase.

    Right now I know I have Proton mail (that is normally free) I'm unsure what else at what level of additional features you've provided. I know I have Proton VPN but again I'm not sure what is provided at my subscription level.

    You want patriotism to your brand then let us know what we have pruchased.

  5. Proton Calendar: Time picker UI keeps forcing AM

    On iOS, Proton Calendar's hour picker UI for events keeps automatically flipping the event to AM every time the hour "12" is selected. STOP DOING THAT. The vast majority of "12" events occur at noon not midnight.

    At least present an option to select the default.

  6. What is the correct sequence to log into the Proton apps?

    I use Proton Mail, Pass, Cloud and VPN. My login requriements are slightly different depending on which Proton app I chose to log in first. Is there a recomment sequence for opening your Proton account?

    What I find

    Method A
    1. Select Proton VPN from Taskbar than Quick Connect
    2. Select Proton Pass and it opens without entering a passphrase.
    3. Select Proton Mail from Proton Pass, site opens, credentials automatically loaded.
    4. Select Proton Mail from the list of available Proton apps, mail opens, and Proton clover leaf reveals all Proton apps.

    From here if I choose to open…

  7. Proton Pass broken on Reddit

    Reddit.com is a popular social network whose credential fields fail to autofill properly with Proton Pass, particularly on some desktop browsers such as Google Chrome. For exampe, the username field fails to autocomplete on macOS.

  8. Proton Mail: Show the unread count in brackets not the total message count

    Proton Mail appears to show an unhelpful, distracting value in brackets. Unread messages occurring in an email conversation chain show "[T]" where T is the total email count. That's not a particularly helpful value. Intuitively, many users would assume such a number indicates the unread count. So the total makes it look like a storm of fresh, new emails have been queued.

    Please update the formatting in the inbox list of conversations view to show the unread count not the total count.

  9. Please provide MSI versions of Installers for Automated Deployments

    The configuration management solution that I have available only supports MSI deployments, but the available Proton installers only come as .exe files.

    Providing a standard MSI packaging format would help me tremendously. I know there is also the MSIX format, but I am not sure how well that would work with the Proton products because they also use sandboxing technology and could be a problem for things like Proton VPN. I am also not sure if I could use MSIX, but will verify that.

  10. Bad placeholder text for unread count

    The placeholder text for Proton Mail unread count is not the best. It says "0" during the loading process. That's often inaccurate. Instead, it should hide the counter until the data has finished loading.

    This applies to the iOS app. This applies when using the unread filter. It likely applies in other scenarios as well.

  11. Unify/obfuscate account login error message.

    Upon trying to log in to a Proton account, make sure to obfuscate incorrect login information. Currently, trying a correct email address and an incorrect password outputs the following error message.
     
    "The password is not correct. Please try again with a different password."

    But instead it should be, no matter what instances:

    "The and account or password is not correct."

    Helps to obfuscate an existing Proton account holder. Showing either the account or password is not correct if login attemp fails.

  12. "UNREAD" button in mail views for web version

    I really like the one push button to view "unread" mails only in the "all mail" view on android. Would be nice if you could also implement that in the web version - in stead of the current drop down menu for that.

  15. All in one app

    Similar to Office 365, a simple but sleek app with all 6 proton apps within at the sidebar, this will take more storage and increase size especially with most users only using one app e.g VPN. However this would widen their use with the mail one or two clicks away, with your ability if the user has not “unlocked” the app e.g wallet if not visionary just hide it.

    To resolve the storage issue for an all in one you could just on install ask what the user would like installing, then on a sidebar or tabs system of all…

  16. Proton Drive keeps removing macOS files

    Please provide an option to force ALL Proton Drive files to remain on the local disk. My macOS files keep deleting, leaving behind a ghost file with the cloud download button. This breaks my desktop applications.

    You broke Calibre, and now my ebook library is empty. Even after I temporarily download my Proton Drive files.

  17. Flag Badge on Proton VPN Icon

    Place a Badge on the Proton VPN logo that shows you are connected by using the flag of the country that your VPN is connected to.

    From my iPhone Screen I can then see that I am connected and which country I am connected to.

    This would also also be useful on my Browser Bookmark Bar as I can see not only am I connected (as shown today with a chartermarked Badge), but which country I am connected to.

  18. Become Environmentally Sustainable

    Proton is a great organization with great products based on a great vision.

    Many competing email providers (see e.g., https://european-alternatives.eu/category/email-providers) operate environmentally sustainably (e.g., with 100% green energy) and provide sustainability reports.

    It would be great if Proton could do so, too.

  19. slow iOS calendar app

    The Proton Calendar app is a bit slow to load. Taps often appear to buffer for ten seconds or more, to create events or even just view events.

    I know that the data has to be decrypted, but there are opportunities to cache (unencrypted) on the device, and/or chunk data, to improve performance.

  20. Delete emails when using forwarding from Gmail

    Allow Proton mail to delete emails in Gmail in addition to just forwarding. Hopefully this isn't something google is preventing. It is available when forwarding Gmail to other providers.
