  1. Proton Drive: Option to cap total transfer speed

Proton Drive would integrate better with other desktop networking applications, if it provides an optional limit to the total transfer speed.

For example, browser downloads can stall out while Proton Drive soaks up too much bandwidth. Let's make Proton Drive run more reliably in the background with an optional cap.

Propose an optional, open ended cap, that the user can adjust in terms of MB/sec.

  3. Adding contacts manually

I've just found a raft of deleted contacts still appearing in autofill fields because they didn't delete correctly or completely. This includes the details of people who have contacted me once. In the interests of privacy, client confidentiality and clutter reduction,it would be helpful to be offered a choice when emails are received as to whether the sender's details are stored or not, with a clear, permanent deletion action.

  4. Shamir secret sharing

How about Shamir Secret Sharing for the account recovery key (and/or the main password)?

Thus I won't have to choose between storing the key in one place with higher risk of loosing it and storying multiple copies with higher risk of having it stolen.

Posted a twit about it as well a while ago: https://x.com/jalooc/status/1816154249551831379

  5. Don't use same word with different meanings in User Interface

The word 'Settings' is used in at least two places in the User Interface with different meanings. I think you have screen space to put an adjective in front of the duplicated word.

  7. Bad credentials autofill for PayPal

On Google Chrome iOS, Proton Pass integrates poorly with the PayPal domain. When PayPal presents a textfield for email address / username, Proton insists on suggesting passwords. Selecting the Proton autofill option does nothing.

As a workaround, I have to manually enter my email address / username.

Other sites work correctly, but not that one.

  8. Missing delete button on mailing list calendar events on mobile

There's no delete button for some Proton Calendar invited events on mobile. Frankly, I hate the "Austin Webex" invites that the POSIX mailing list spams my Proton inbox with, and I want to decline, delete, disable all notifications, and HIDE the entire succession of these events. But half a dozen bugs and quirks in the Proton platform continue to plague my calendar.

  9. add ability to "send and snooze"

I would like the ability to when sending an email also at the same time select a "snooze" time so the sent email shows up in my inbox if they person I originally sent to never responded so I can follow up.

If not going that far, at least be able to manually snooze emails in my "sent" folder so I can achieve the same thing.

  10. Password Protect Proton Doc

The new proton doc is great in that it is end to end encrypted. However I am concerned in case in the future someone compromises my password say in a breach or similar. I would like an extra layer of security where I could password protect individual documents so that the only way to access them would be to be signed into my account AND to have knowledge of the password for that document...

  11. Protondrive: Allow to share editable document with guest (non-proton user)

Not everyone uses Proton, thus the share feature of the document editing functions is not usable outside of a very few people. Please allow for an optional setting letting non-proton users to access and edit shared documents.

  12. ProtonVPN: Support built-in port forwarding customization

ProtonVPN requires a substantial amount of effort by the user, installing WireGuard, Python3, and a pip package, for port forwarding. And the port forwarding is limited to targeting a single region.

Please add port forwarding support to the plain ProtonVPN client. That would greatly simplify the user experience.

  14. Docs

Reasonably proton docs is still missing a lot of features. Some improvements I've noticed it needs while using it are a page printer view, spacing variability, format memory (when starting a new line font and text size revert to default), precision font variability, better spacing with indented checkboxes, and an easy and elegant UI for viewing already created docs

  17. Sub-calendars leaking into Apple Calendar notifications

When tracking events with multiple Proton Calendar calendars, then events on these secondary calendars end up triggering spurious iOS notifications. The notifications appear from Proton Calendar when using Proton Calendar notifications, or Apple Calendar when using Apple Calendar notifications. In both cases, I have the iOS client application set to import only a single, main Proton Calendar calendar. But the extra ones keep slipping through.

The secondary calendar events do not appear on iOS Proton Calendar nor Apple Calendar, just the notifications.

As a workaround, I have to remember not to use extra Proton calendars. This makes it harder to…

  18. Export emails in a folder to PDF

Right now we can only export 1 email at a time to PDF. It would be incredibly useful to be able to choose a folder and export all of the emails in that folder as PDF (individual emails as individual PDFs AND export all emails into one big PDF).

  20. Allow family members to create new email addresses privately.

Currently the Family Plan provides a total of 90 email addresses for all family members, but the admin users must create the addresses for each member. From a privacy standpoint this is very wrong.

I recommend having an option for the admin users to allocate an amount of addresses from the total of 90 to each member. Each member should then create their own additional addresses, and the additional addresses should be only visible to each user. Family admins should not be able to see family member secondary addresses.

I purchased the Family Plan for my family because I value…
