Add Proton apps to Flathub and GNOME Software
Making Proton's apps available on the app stores that Linux users use will make it easier and safer for users to find and download Proton apps and eliminate the risk of visiting sketchy websites to download the official Proton apps. The respective app store websites are linked below for reference.

Professional/Academic-level Writing Support in Proton Docs
I am working hard to de-Google, de-Meta, de-Amazon, and de-Microsoft my life. I would love to switch my word processing needs entirely over to Proton Docs, but I need to write at a high academic level, including things like postdoc applications, journal articles, and books, and the support for that just isn't there, especially in things like footnotes and references/bibliographies. I know there are a lot of free alternatives to MS Word out there, like Google Docs, but I want to know for a fact that my writing won't be scraped for AI training.

Ability to share files/folders with non-proton users by sharing a link and password instead of having to create an account
Absolutely need the ability to share a link to a file or folder on Proton Drive with a non-proton user without them having to create an account at all, e.g. proton user could simply share a password with the recipient and they could then access the file or folder via a link with that password.
The fact recipients have to create an account makes them opt out and request the use of unsecured channels for file sharing. This is NOT the way. Please add this ability to remove this important element of friction that’s preventing users from using proton services…

Proton's Sustainability
It would be nice if Proton had some transparency about their sustainability commitments. To be able to see if they use renewable energy and/or other sustainable practices, Is what I believe would be a great selling point for potential users.

Encrypted Backup of all Proton data (like Standard Notes Backup)
An option to create an encrypted Backup of all Proton Account data (probably most important are Mail, Pass, Drive and Wallet) which can be downloaded as a File and be decrypted locally with an open-source (FLOSS) software Proton provides and the Proton Account Password (resp. the Decryption Password if two-password-mode is active).
This feature should work exactly the same way as the backup option of Standard Notes does (https://standardnotes.com/help/14/how-do-i-create-and-import-backups-of-my-standard-notes-data):
- Basicly give the user the data the way you (Proton) see it (fully encrypted with the, to you unknown, Account password)
- Make it possible for the user to decrypt the…

docs
Adding headers, footers, and (editable) pagination would be appreciated by those who edit course materials, along with more font options, even if they have to be uploaded to your platforms.
And if this type of feature is complicated to implement online due to hosting providers, why not also create a Proton Docs desktop app?
Sincerely,

Proton Chat
I’ve seen multiple other users suggest this, but I would like to make a request. If this is done, I’d like for it to have features that would make it a viable alternative to discord. The community I am in that suggested this company to me is becoming wary of continuing to use discord, and we may start looking for an alternative shortly.

Upload-Only “File Request” Links for Proton Drive
Hello Proton Team,
I would like to request an upload-only “File Request” feature for Proton Drive, similar to what is offered by Dropbox, OneDrive, and Google Drive.
Current shared folders with “can edit” permissions are useful, but they still allow users to browse folder contents and potentially modify files. For privacy-sensitive workflows, this creates unnecessary exposure and administrative overhead.
A dedicated File Request feature would allow:
- upload-only access
- no browsing or downloading
- no visibility into other uploaded files
- optional password protection
- optional expiration dates
- optional one-time-use links
- per-request isolation and auditing
This would be extremely valuable for:
- healthcare offices
- legal…

shared workspace
Shared workspaces would be nice because we have a drive and we're meeting soon. You can share files and chat with each other in a space where you can share files and chat with each other, like Teams/Sharepoint. We already have a drive, and we get meet soon. I think this will make it complete.

Printing in Sheets
Currently, printing sheets just uses the default print function. A custom print function similar to what google sheets does would be ideal to allow for changing margins, size, etc.

Proton chat messenger
Messenger would be end-to-end encrypted for video calls and voice messages.
This feature has been requested many times and has been under review since 2016.

Automatically sync Proton Meet meetings with Proton Calendar
Currently, I can set up a Proton Meet meeting in Proton Calendar, but it won't show up under "My meetings" in Proton Meet. Equally, if I set up a meeting in Proton Meet, it doesn't show in Proton Calendar. It would be great to have these two services talk to one another.
Well done for launching Proton Meet. It seems instantly stable, and generally working well. Thank you!

Lumo connection to Standard Notes
Integration between the two would allow users to quickly summarize, search, and organize their notes using AI, making it easier to find important information, generate to-do lists, and capture insights from long-form text.

Doc outliner to Proton docs
You can apply "Header 1" the title of the doc and subtitles but they are only visual, i would love to see a doc outliner on the side of the docs to be able to organize and skim through the doc without scrolling all the through 90 pages to what i need (Like google docs)

CO2e-neutrality pledge
Alphabet (Google) has abandonned their CO2e-neutrality pledge and schedule, because of the energy cost of AI.
Now is the time to shine for Proton, by taking the vacant place that is offered!!
It would be extremely popular, especially in Europe, and would push a lot of climate-conscious people from other service providers towards Proton.

Proton Journal
I was thinking about something just now: there doesn’t seem to be any open-source, end-to-end encrypted software for keeping a journal. In my research, apart from a few self-hosted projects, I couldn’t find an open-source, trustworthy journaling app offered by a company. Apple has an app that looks nice, but it’s closed-source.
I don’t keep a journal myself, but for people who do, this could be a great idea. I think Proton could consider this and release an end-to-end encrypted Proton Journal. Honestly, it seems sensible and I believe people would use it.
