Notification when a photo is shared
I’m using Proton Drive to share photos with my family. It would be great if my family would get a notification when I add something to an album. Now they have to check or I need to tell them. Either a push notification in the app or an e-mail would be very helpful.

Subject: Proposal: Triple-Loop Architecture for Next-Gen LLMs – Solving Alignment via Meta-Cognition
Dear Research and Engineering Team,
I am writing to propose a new architectural paradigm for Large Language Models (LLMs) inspired by neuro-mechanical theories of human cognition (specifically the distinction between Short-Term and Long-Term memory loops).
Current LLMs function primarily as massive Long-Term Memory systems (statistical pattern matching). While effective, they lack a mechanism for inhibition, strategic oversight, and ethical governance. This proposal suggests a Triple-Loop Architecture that introduces a "Meta-Cognitive" layer to solve the alignment problem at the architectural level.
The Core Concept: Triple-Loop ArchitectureInstead of a…

Warn if outgoing message is missing an attachment
When I click Send in a new Mail message, warn me if the body text refers to an attachment (e.g. "attached is...", "see attachment...", etc.) but there is no attachment.
(Obviously this would require that Proton scan the body text; not sure if that's something that's prohibited by Proton privacy policies. But the scanning would be done locally, so it shouldn't be an issue.)

With the features I have discovered, managing long email correspondence chain histories is extremely difficult. Can it be improved?
I have what are now multiple email chains dating back more than a year. These include broken series of replies to a single thread. With extremely sensitive and high risk issues it is crucial to maintain and be able to reconstruct chronologies of what was stated or claimed and by whom, when and in what order. As it is I have found very few features to keep track of email histories. Obviously Proton mail do not want to accept liability for features said to provide additional security beyond what can reasonably be offered but the software could simply add better…

Shared calendar with notifications
It would be great if there were a shared calendar (e.g., "family") that notified all users of the calendar whenever somebody made a change, addition, or deletion. For example, if I added an appointment to the family calendar, all the other family members would be notified that I added something. Or if a family member changed an appointment, I would receive a notification that the appointment had been changed & by whom.

Future set to send email?
Hi there, is there a feature which allows email to be sent in the near future, should an accidental event happen that leads to death to email owner?
Say if you have not login for 1 year, the email will be sent to whom they wish to receive it.
Much like in TV series Mr Robot (How i found out about protonmail)
Thanks for you time.

Burner Credit/Debit Cards
Add burner/single use card numbers. Similar to how Privacy has cards that can be one-time use or locked to only one vendor/company.

Enable the option to change the cell setting of the decimal point in entire sheet
If I format a cell as a number, two numbers are placed after the decimal point. I can adjust that per cell, but not for the entire worksheet. Formatting the cells as text is not an option, because then the summation function will no longer work.

Version History and check for update feature
I tried to find out if my Proton Desktop app is up to date and found it incredibly hard to find any information about it. A support site where every Proton app is listed and then for each platform of the product, a version history with release notes would be very helpful. Additionally, a check for update feature in every app would be great too. Proton drives does this very well already and I wish this features universally for all products.

Native Thunderbird integration for Mail + Calendar (without Bridge)
Description:
Thunderbird is one of the most widely used desktop email clients in the open-source ecosystem. Presently, Proton Mail can only be accessed through the Bridge, and Proton Calendar cannot be used at all. This causes several limitations:
• The Bridge must always be running in the background;
• There is no native calendar support in Thunderbird;
• Reliability and performance depend on a proxy layer instead of direct protocols;Meanwhile, Mozilla has just merged K-9 into Thunderbird as their official Android app and is developing Thundermail—a new service platform that will offer online mail, documents, spreadsheets, slides, and more.…

Better importation/linking with Gmail with Proton Mail
First off, I LOVE the new ability to link your gmail account. This is extremely helpful, and removes 90% of my reliability with Gmail as it's all available with Proton Mail.
However, organization is needed for a couple different reasons.
1) Spam/Promotion
Gmail gives you HUNDREDS of emails into a quick "Promotions" area. All of this goes unfiltered upon linking with Proton, and floods your entire Proton Inbox.
For emails listed under "Promotion" tab in gmail (as well as other misc areas such as Spam), it should be filtered into some type of Subfolder and/or ignored.I think the easiest…

Subject: "No Warranty" and "Not Responsible for Accuracy" — The Loophole That Voids Every Promise
Hi Proton Team,
There is a section in Proton's agreements that most users will never read, but it fundamentally undermines everything they were sold on:
"No warranty." "Not responsible for accuracy."
These clauses mean that every promise Proton makes — about protecting your data, about encryption, about open source, about features working — comes with a legal escape hatch. If something goes wrong, if a feature doesn't work, if accuracy fails, the company has already protected itself. The user has no recourse.
The Playbook This isn't unique to Proton. It's standard corporate practice. But Proton isn't supposed to be standard.…

Proton Sheets: Allow selecting which column is used as sorting key
When you select a range in Proton Sheets, and go "sort A->Z", it always sorts based on leftmost column in the selected range. But sometimes the column I want to use as my "A->Z", and have the rest of the selected range sorted by, is not, in fact, the leftmost column. Please add a functionality to choose the column to act as a sort key.

[Proton Meet] Dedicated Proton Meet Category on the UserVoice Platform
It would be very helpful to have a dedicated category for Proton Meet on the service/feedback platform, even while it is still in closed beta.
At the moment, Proton Meet feature requests have to be posted in the general category, which makes them harder to find, track, and discuss. A separate category would improve visibility, feedback quality, and organization for both users and the Proton team.

E-mail drag and drop folder expansion
When dragging the e-mail to a nested folder when its parent is collapsed, we need to expand that folder first, then drag. It would be great if the folder would automatically expand while holding the e-mail and hovering above it for 250-500ms.

Display calendar import failures in English, not machine language
When importing a .ICS file to Proton Calendar, some calendar entries will not successfully import. The user can view the errors, which are displayed in machine language (i.e. the numerical ID for the calendar entry) instead of the name of the calendar entry (i.e. "Steve S's Anniversary"). Therefore, without significant effort, it's not possible to know which calendar entries did not successfully import to Proton Calendar.

Enable Proton Calendars to connect to Microsoft Outlook using IMAP via Proton Mail Bridge
Since Microsoft Outlook can connect to Proton Mail using the Proton Mail Bridge (using IMAP), enable the same capability for Proton Calendar. This would allow Proton Calendar users to create, edit, and delete calendar entries on their Proton Calendar from within the Microsoft Outlook tool. Currently, the user must open the Proton Mail application to create, edit, and delete calendar entries on their Proton Mail calendar.
