I haven't tested this lately to know if this is still an issue, but I stopped using WebP and HEIC files due to them not getting the same treatment as Jpegs and other formats. I would like both WebP and HEIC files to be given the option for being an attachment or inline. However, the functionality still needs to work correctly and should include ability to resize, etc.

Some email messages simply need to be flagged as urgent or important. This is especially true for business related email messages.

I would like the ability to add WebP or HEIC/HEIF images inline (not only as attachments) in Proton Mail messages in Windows desktop app or via mail.proton.me (i.e. web version). In other words, give them equal treatment as JPEG or other formats get.
Furthermore, as inline images, obviously one should be able to easily resize them right there in the email message as it is being created.
WebP and HEIC/HEIF images often has as good or better quality than JPEG and some other formats, but are much smaller and efficient (encoding wise).
I would also suggest starting the work to support JPEG XL in all versions of ProtonMail and Proton Drive (apps and web).
