  1. favicon / email sender icon

Favicons / email sender icons for incoming emails are already displayed in the Proton mail web app and iphone app (if the sender has set such an icon, of course), but I haven't found a feature to add such an icon for my outgoing mails (I use a custom domain name). Any possibility to add such a feature?

(please correct me of this is something that has to be set somewhere else, I haven't found any info about that)

  2. Make unsubscribe work with SimpleLogin

The current implementation of the "unsubscribe from mailing list" does not cooperate with emails forwarded from SimpleLogin. It currently sends a request to unsubscribe to "unsubscribe@simplelogin.co" <image>. I think it would be nice if it instead made a reverse alias and actually sent the unsubscribe message to the email address that SL forwarded it from.

  3. Replace "Can't find what you're looking for? Include Spam/Trash." with a button

That line of text is distracting and could easily be replaced by a button which would be neater.

  4. Duplicate window / Open new window in Proton Mail Desktop App

When right click on Proton Desktop App in the menu we should have two options:
    1. Duplicate app window (which will duplicate the current logged window withouth asking to reauthenticate, similar how a duplicate tab works in a browser).
    2. Open new window (opening a new window which will ask for authentication - this is usefull if you want to use the app with different accounts at the same time).

  5. Change default view

When the iOS Proton Mail app is opened, the default view shown is the inbox.

Add a setting where you can set the default to All Mail, Starred, a custom folder, etc.

  7. Consolidated inbox

Allow to display or not, in both web interface and application, a unified inbox inspired by google's application, consolidating different email addresses, aliases and accounts (notably for family plan users or when using sevaral Proton account like for business and personal).

  8. Sync labels between Proton Mail and SimpleLogin

I find it difficult to organize emails from a SL alias. I do not know if this is feasible but if I could choose to add Proton Labels in the SimpleLogin UI to the alias that show up in Proton mail, then I could use a filter to move/mark emails.

Currently, I have to manually open the filter and add the new alias to perform any moves/marking of the email, and this is a repetitive task. If SL added labels to the email, then it would reduce the manual labor/upkeep.

  10. Set and save mail's template for repetitive mail allowing us to just make some personnalisation without losing the template.

i work as an herbalist and send some generics mail to my clients (1-before the meeting, a mail with questionnary about their health in attachment, 2 - after the meeting 1 mail with the resume of our meeting and some documents in attachment, for exemple.)

It would be nice to have some template ready to use (setted by us) to gain time.

  11. Disable sound notifications on Android

Atm it's impossible to turn off the sound notifications for the android app. It's either get all notifications including sound, or turn off everything. This is super annoying, my phone keeps beeping with every new email, I don't need that kind of distraction and it's disturbing everyone around me!

  12. Display Message - newest on top

Please add the function to sort Emails from newest to oldest (top to bottom) - so the newest message can be viewed on Top! That would be an awesome upgrade which makes the "readability" and organization of PM a lot better!

  13. Choose installation path for desktop app

    Hello,

First of all, thank you for all the great work you are accomplishing at Proton.

I really love the idea of using Proton via the desktop app, but one thing is a no-go for me :

My disks are partitioned and my OS is isolated from my other installed applications.

I don't want ProtonMail client to be installed in "%LocalAppData%\proton_mail" by default and wanna be able to choose another partition / disk to install it.

I investigated a bit on the underlying installation system, which is Squirrel, and actually it seems to not allow installation path customization.
    https://github.com/Squirrel/Squirrel.Windows/blob/develop/docs/using/install-process.md

    Don't…

  14. Add FIDO2/U2F support to Mobile apps (and allow disabling app based 2FA)

Proton webmail finally supports FIDO2/U2F hardware security keys.

Please add this support to the mobile apps as well. Yubikey has inexpensive NFC-enabled hardware security keys. NFC or not, Proton's app should also support this as an option.

Currently you can only log into mobile with an app-based TOTP code or a recovery code, and you can only unlock a logged in session with a PIN or biometrics.

It should be possible to make the only option a hardware security key for all Proton apps.

  16. Using physical security keys

You sent me an email this morning about passkeys. Well, what about physical security keys? I bought two of them last week from Amazon. I got them to work with iCloud. I'd like them to work with Proton Mail, too.
    Thanks.

  17. Leveraging ProtonPass & Signal to Facilitate Non-ProtonMail Recipients Password Management

    PROBLEM:
When sending “Encrypted Emails to Non-Proton Recipients” … it is cumbersome to have to “manually manage” the “Shared Secrets / Passwords” for each recipient … in particular if you are communicating with multiple recipients repeatedly.

In addition … it requires communicating the password through a secure encrypted channel … normally I use “Signal”.

    FEATURE REQUEST:
Add an additional field in “ProtonPass” for documenting email recipients and their shared secret for encrypted communications within ProtonMail. You could integrate ProtonPass with ProtonMail such that it detects that you are sending an encrypted email to a Non-ProtonMail recipient … and prompts you…

  18. A spellchecker that allows you to select a language per recipient

As I am writing regularly to different recipients in different languages, it would be helpful if I could allocate a spellchecker specifically, so that it is chosen automatically as soon as I select the recipient's address.
