Store recovery email in a hashed format
Proton Mail stores recovery mail in a plain text format. Many legal requests access the recovery mail. Since privacy is by default, I don't think Proton should know my alternate email address. Recovery emails should be hashed -exactly passwords are-.

Import own OpenPGP subkeys only
Allow users to import just the encryption and signing subkeys, without the OpenPGP master key.
Users can generate new subkeys just for Proton Mail. The scope of the keys becomes limited. Independent revocation becomes possible. The keys are exported to keyservers under the user's own identity. Proton Mail becomes part of the decentralized web of trust.
No impact on Proton Mail's usability. Users can still use the keys generated on the servers. Advanced users gain the option to maintain full and exclusive control over their OpenPGP identity while benefiting from Proton Mail's services.

Enable Enhanced Tracking Protection on Android
Currently, Enhanced Tracking Protection in Proton Mail blocks spy pixels and email trackers by default on the web, iPhone, and iPad apps. However, this feature is missing on the Android app. To ensure consistent privacy protection across all platforms, Proton Mail should implement Enhanced Tracking Protection for Android users as well.

Automatically detect language for spell check
I write emails using both English and French. My browser has several dictionaries installed, but Proton Mail spell checker doesn't seem to know the difference.
What would be neat is if Proton Mail could recognise the typed language (as for instance MS Outlook does), and do spell check accordingly.

Disable/enable notifications for specific hours
Add the ability to choose time slot for notifications.
E.g. 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for professional notifications.
This would particularly be useful if we can choose for which alias and/or folder we set the time slot.Example 1
address@proton.me -> notifications always enabled
address+alias@proton.me -> notifications enabled only from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.Example 2
address@proton.me -> notifications always enabled
Folder 1 -> notifications enabled only from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.6 votes -
Add ALL Proton apps to the Accrescent.app store
Have you considered or are you planning on adding the Proton apps to the Accrescent (app store focused on security, privacy, and usability)
Accrescent is a private and secure Android app store built with modern features in mind.
It was just endorsed by GrapheneOS (considered by many to be the most private and secure mobile operating). GrapheneOS also now has accrescent in their app store.
Right now there is only 9 apps on it. So any new apps added get great installation opportunities from the privacy and security minded community.
Anyway, I really love and use all the Proton apps,…

Please ensure that the title of the calendar event is included in the Proton calendar reminder emails in the Proton Mail Android application
In the notification emails that arrive in the Proton Mail desktop application, you can see the title of the calendar event. However, in the Android application, only the time is visible, which can make it difficult to identify the event in the notification email.

Provide more control over alias generation
Email aliases are automatically generated using a pattern like (title)(random number).(random word)(random number)@passinbox.com. The only part of this that the user controls is the title.
If users are not allowed to directly choose aliases, then there should at least be an easy way (like a button) to generate a new random alias. Currently you must close the create dialog and reopen it to get a different alias. The problem is that the random words often have negative connotations, which makes the aliases unacceptable for things like resumes.

native contact database
Default contact database
On Android systems, it is still not possible to use the contact data available in Proton-Mail as default contact data. The contact data used for phone calls or various messaging apps must be maintained independently of the Proton contacts.
Are there plans to build a contact app that provides the address data for Proton as well as for the other apps?3 votes -
Support more than 4 Security Keys
Proton supports only 4 hardware security keys - this is not enough. Especially since using biometrics counts against the 4 key limit. I have three desktop computers which run my Proton accounts, and I have mobile devices which require 1 key. So I can't use the biometrics option without forcing a game of musical chairs with my security keys. I'm forced to continue using and subscribing to my 1Password account rather than Proton Pass until this limit is increased.

Adding IMAP/POP and SMTP support for other email providers in Proton Mail
While I understand that protons first goal is to ensure privacy and emails from other providers like outlook or gmail cannot be as private as emails that run directly through proton it is a hard truth that most of us are still forced to use gmail or outlook.
Mostly because of work, but there are surely even other reasons.
For proton to ultimately become the “main hub” I believe it should allow users to send and receive emails from other providers through SMTP and IMAP/POP
The user is responsible for this and should understand that sending emails through these accounts…

Bring Proton Scribe to iOS Proton Mail app (on device)
I would love to see Proton Scribe available on the iOS Proton Mail app, running on device. It would be worth the 4GB of space to be able to utilize it on my phone, where I do most of my emailing/messaging. It's an awesome tool on the mac app and the web. I would love to be able to use it on the go.

Send Emails through Auto Forward Emails
I have a gmail account connected to my proton via auto forward, but I would like to send emails and reply to emails straight from proton with the gmail account's email address.

Partial download for mobile devices to speed up response
Since I moved my (very large) email account from a previous provider, my Proton app on my cell phone has been crawling. I suspect it's looking at every golden message from the past 20 years. (Yes, I need to clean my account up, cf. requests for expiration based on folders). Gmail only allows its client to download recent emails on its mobile app.

Alter or disable orignial email address
I no longer use my original email address due to 99.9% of it being spam. I would like the option of disabling or changing that original address to eliminate my need to empty the spam folder continually (I'm OCD).

Expand Contacts to include more fields and custom fields
I have selected Outlook as my primary Contact Book because
1. Separate fields for first & last names,
2. Allows me to enter a freeform Suffix 20+/- character field that allows me to enter ‘MD Primary’ .
3. I do like howt Proton formats my phone number. (thank you)
4. I do not like to having to format the Display Name forcing me to remember my format.2 votes -
Sieve Script debugging/testing support
Running Sieve Scripts on Proton Mail is rate limited, but creating and testing, maybe debugging new scripts sometimes needs a lot of iterations.
While I do understand the need for such rate limits, it's a significant roadblock for any sort of testing. Thus my request to get debugging/testing features for filter scripts.For this purpose, there are two features I would like to suggest:
1. The ability to test a filter against a select number of mails from the account, rather than each and every email. It would then list any actions performed on each selected mail, rather than executing…4 votes
