  1. Create Filters Based On Email Read/Unread Status

I currently have a filter setup to automatically mark new emails as unprocessed which I love but I have to manually change the label to processed after it's been read.

It would be super helpful to update the sieve filter engine to allow for the following:
    - If email status changes to read then a label can be added (e.g., processed) and another removed (e.g., unprocessed) & also have the ability to add to a folder or remove from a folder
    - If email status changed to unread then a label can be added (e.g., unprocessed) and another removed (e.g.,…

  2. Hide folders and categories feature when not used

Folders and categories are a great feature, but if they are not in use, I don't want to see the icons below my e-mail folders. I'd like to be able to hide them for a cleaner UI.

  3. Include time on emails for yesterday in proton mail web

Please consider adding time to the mail list and mail details. Showing 'yesterday' at 09:05 the next morning does not give necessary information to you on when exactly the email was received. Knowing what time the previous day an email arrived is pretty important.

I understand why you may want to save screen real estate on the email list by not showing time (although there's a tonne of space anyway), but when you open an email it should really always show date and time rather than just yesterday.

    Thanks.

  4. inline response

When I get an email with a lot of questions, I'd like to be able to reply inline without having to cut and paste. Doesn't Outlook have this feature?

  5. Calendar: "Disable" instead of cancelling an event

Currently, the user is only able to delete an event in case it is cancelled. In such a case, the information about the canceled event is permanently lost.

Instead, I as a user would like to have an option to cancel or disable an event, but to keep in my calendar marked for instance by a strikethrough label. The disabled event might be deleted later.

Thus, the canceled event may remember the user of any further or future action or task.

  6. Change app icon

The option to replace the icon with a privacy icon has been added. It would be even better, however, to be able to replace the app icon with the older ones from 2014–22, 2022–26 (no Liquid Glass) and Liquid Glass. This feature could be implemented on Android (without Liquid Glass), iOS, macOS and Windows (and perhaps even Linux).

  7. Pull the calendar entries/meetings from Gmail, Outlook, Apple Calendar to Proton Calendar.

Pull the calendar entries/meetings from Gmail, Outlook, Apple Calendar to Proton Calendar.

Not necessary for two-way sync, just a pull to one master calendar.

    Thank you!

  8. make the invitation email for calendar events optional

    The email is currently mandatory.

There is at least one use case when the email is not desiderable:

I receive a Google Meet link with date and time by message in a Telegram DM or whatever.

The meeting is agreed upon and confirmed by both.

That person already has the event on his Google Calendar.

I want to set it on my Proton Calendar with the counterparty email as a reference for myself, but I would rather not send a duplicate confirmation email.

  9. Choose which calendars to show in the widget

We need to be able to customise the Calendar Widget to select which calendars we want to be shown (enabled), and which we want to be hidden (disabled), separately to what is shown when opening the app.

For example, I have a Work Team calendar and a Family calendar that I want to see when I open the app, but I don't want them shown in the widget.

For both to and from there should be the option to always show the full email address rather than just a name.

  12. Privacy-Preserving Notifications/Generic Notification Mode

Recently, reports involving Signal highlighted that operating system notification databases may retain sensitive information from message notifications, even after the original messages are deleted. While this example involved Signal and iOS, the same general risk may apply to other apps and operating systems where notification content is stored or indexed outside the app.

For privacy-focused users, Proton Mail and other Proton products should offer an option to use generic notification text instead of exposing message content in system notifications.

For example, instead of showing sender names, subject lines, or message previews, the notification could simply say:

    “New Proton Mail message…

  13. LA CRM - Mailbridge Failure

    Hi Proton Team,

This is a niche issue, but I utilize a tool called Less Annoying CRM (LACRM), which allows permits email logging required for my industry. On their help site (https://www.lessannoyingcrm.com/help/finding-imap-information-for-email-syncing), they specifically call out proton mail for being unable to sync with their tools:

"ProtonMail: their end-to-end encryption prevents a normal IMAP sync. ProtonMail’s “Bridge” tool does not solve this, so automatic email logging will not work."

Is there the possibility that the bridge tool could permit a normal IMAP sync without compromising the security of the tool?

  14. Time-tracking Calendar Integration

One missing feature from the Proton Suite is a Time-tracking layer integrated in the Calendar app.

It would be a handy feature to toogle on/off alongside your planned schedule, in order to track the real time invested in your projects, get records and overviews, and be able to learn from them and improve your workflow. All with the same level of privacy and encryption of the other features.

Right now Proton users still depend on external apps to track their time, which don't integrate in the Proton ecosystem nor offer the same kind of data security. More on the contrary,…

  15. Partner with Signal for a messaging, calling, video app

If Proton could partner with Signal so that both customer bases could communicate with each other with messaging, voice, and video. One of the biggest limitations with private messaging is whether or not the people you want to communicate with have the same technology. Expanding the customer base would benefit the customers of both groups. Signal has a mature product running on all of the major platforms. Proton could offer international hosting, which would limit government throttling like we've recently seen with Telegram. It would seem like Signal and Proton could find common ground that benefits both of them and…

  16. Remove notification after event ends

In Google Calendar, on Android at least, event notifications automatically disappear after an event ends. It would be nice if Proton Calendar did the same, to help keep the system notification tray tidier.

  17. Add

When i enter an email in the windows app, it would be great when i return back to the email client it would show me which email i was just in by highlighting it. I order a lot of things online and when i try to go through my Window email client and check each one it is hard to keep track which one i just looked at.

  18. (Current) Critical Security Vulnerability: Missing Default-Deny Policy - Why Whitelists Fail Against Zero-Click Exploits (State Trojans)

    (Current Text) April 26, 2026
    Dear Proton Team,

Currently, Proton Mail under (Filters) "Blocked and Allowed Senders Lists" offers only a whitelist as a positive exception in a system that standardly accepts everything ("Default-Allow"). The "Allow" function serves merely to move important emails back from the Spam folder to the Inbox; it does not prevent the receipt of emails from other domains. The "Block" function serves only to block known, malicious senders.

The fundamental security problem is that for users who need to protect themselves against Zero-Click Exploits (e.g., advanced state trojans like Pegasus or similar spyware), this "Default-Allow" model…

  19. Improve email masking in Daily Notifications (Show first and last characters)

Currently, Daily Email Notifications only show the first two characters of the recipient address. This makes it difficult to distinguish between similar aliases or folders (e.g., support@... vs super@...).

I suggest updating the masking logic to show both the beginning and the end of the local part of the email address.
    * Current: su********@proton.me
    * Proposed: su****rt@proton.me or s******t@proton.me

This provides better clarity while maintaining the privacy of the full address.

  20. Creation of a Public Spam Address List

I suggest creating a public list of known spam addresses. This list could be initially curated by Proton Mail and then maintained and continuously updated by the community (for example, via GitHub).

Additionally, it would be highly beneficial to add, in this section (https://account.proton.me/u/78/mail/filters#spam) within each user account’s spam filter settings, a feature that allows users to upload one or more precompiled lists of spam addresses (e.g., in .txt, .md, .csv, .json, or similar formats). This would enable users to manage their own personalized lists and import them all at once, rather than having to mark addresses individually.
