Add option to state availability of calendar items
Make day events by default as unavailable in booking pages. now that is not the case.
Also consider creating a flag in a calendar event that makes the invite free or unavailable. Sometimes you have these calendar events that are just reminders.

Toggle for defaulting "To" details to always display
In settings for mail, would like a toggle option to default show "To" details instead of having to click arrow to display them. Now that I have email aliases, I would like to know at a glance which alias these emails were sent to without extra clicks involved.
I really like the email@email.email with the date and time displayed underneath that is added to the "To" details when you click the "v" show details button, but would be so much happier with it being automatically displayed by default.

Scheduled Sieves Runs
Would be nice to have the ability to run sieves on a fixed schedule automatically, for example this is useful for sieves that cleans messages older than *** on every YYY etc

"Sender contains" filter
When I create a filter and try to use "Sender Contains", it seems proton is looking for the actual email address and not even looking at the sender's display name.
For example, I have an email from "xyz store", but the email is "mail@sendfoxmail.com". My filter says if "Sender Contains" "xyz store" then move it to "abc Folder".
However, since Proton is not looking at the Display name, it does not apply the filter.
Desired solution: Proton looks at the sender's email address AND Sender's display name.

Select display address when inviting someone to calendar events
I have several addresses I use regularly——one for personal, one for business, etc. I've created a calendar event and am inviting a client as a participant, but I'd like to be able to show my business address as the invitee, not my personal Proton address, which is my account default.
I could just make my business address my account default, but I don't want to do that for 5 different reasons that I won't bother listing here.
In short, it would be great if I could choose the address to display in the calendar event invite——in this case, my business…

Each alias needs a signature of its own.
Supposedly this feature was added earlier, but the link to it is nonfunctioning. The user should be able to add a different signature to each alias rather than a single signature for all. If this already exists, please show where and how.

Verification badge
Since the recent campaign using proton to impersonate recruiters or high level profiles to get information or spread malware, would be good to have a "Verified" badge.
Both a page on the website to check if an address is verified and a badge next to the email for other proton users, like the "Official" for Proton.
Although I understand proton is also used by people that want anonymity, there are also journalists and other figures (especially since the introduction of the Sentinel program) that would like a more public-facing approach.
Verification could be done without handling IDs by either verifying…

Message threads should not include items in Trash
When I have put a message in the trash, I do not want to see it, and yet when I get another email from the same recipient, somehow, the message in trash is included and at the top there is a banner saying that the thread includes messages in trash.
Who thought this was a good idea? Just saying, I throw messages out for a reason, and that reason is not to see them again. At a minimum, adding a setting to omit deleted messages from a thread should be available.2 votes -
View Starred / Favourite Contacts
Proton Mail for Web should allow marking individual contacts as "Starred" or "Favourite".
Coinciding with that, the Contacts pane should have a "Starred" or "Favourites" tab in addition to "Contacts" and "Groups".
Although this is not a critical feature, there are already at least two good reasons for it:
All of the extra encrypted fields in Contacts makes Proton Mail a good place not just to store your e-mail contacts, but your entire address book, including phone numbers, mailing addresses, birthdates (etc). However, this leads to the addition of many seldom-used entries that one doesn't necessarily need or want to…

Lack of "Tasks" and/or "To Do" is degrading product adoption and leaving the rest of us open to alternative products.
The very basic functionality of task and to-do lists was included in the very first Personal Information Managers (PIM) from the 1990s, and was a primary motivation for the adoption of these sorts of software (and hardware) products -- motivated users were tired of a stack of paper scraps and post-it notes in their purse or wallet or written upon their forearm.
While pleased to see Proton moving to effectively compete with Google Workspace and all the related products, the absence of this very basic functionality makes for a product that cannot effectively replace the sorts of enterprise business systems…

re-send an email
When viewing a sent mail, add a item under the "..." more options called: resend. When clicking this button the composer opens with all the content (recipients, subject, body and attachments) from the previously sent mail, user can then edit anything as if it is a new mail, and send it as a new mail.

Edit calendar entry by double clicking
Hello,
I would be nice and streamlined if I could edit existing calendar entries in the web interface by double clicking on the entry. Currentrly you need to single click and then select the edit icon in the popup window.2 votes -
Movable 'save attachment' popup
Currently when I'm saving an attachment to local drive, there is a popup subscreen showing the MacOS Finder folders etc. But this subscreen is not movable (only resizable) and it stays in the center. So in many cases I can not see the document's content to take over specific info that I use for file name.
When movable, it would be possible to read&write invoice numbers, dates, subjects etc to used for file name.
Even better if Lumo can suggest a file name for me, based on the content and some global rules such as "always add prefix yyyymmdd" to…

File name suggestion by Lumo
Usa Lumo to scan a attachment's content to suggest a (new) file name while saving an attachment.
Use case: when we scan a hard copy document with the scanner and send it as email, the attachment has a random number. It saves a lot of time to have Lumo suggesting a file name such as "yyyymmdd Tax application 2026.pdf" based on the content of the pdf.

Less resource-heavy Proton Mail App for Linux
The Proton Mail app on linux is very, very resource heavy, over the 100%. The fan starts to blow immediately when starting Proton, see the top listing below.

set time zone manually
Proton mail uses the browser time zone for all events and there is not a way to set it manually. I use Librewolf to minimize browser fingerprinting and one of it's features (which is not easy to turn off separately) is that is displays the time zone to websites as Zulu / GMT, instead of local time. This means that calendar events come in with a time shift displayed in email. They are correct in the calendar since Calendar allows you to set the time in the top bar.

Sticky behavior for tags/labels for priority sorting (e.g., in Inbox)...
Create an option to make a tag/label "sticky". Or, option to make all messages with a specific custom tag(s)/label(s) sticky in the Inbox and other folders. Starred doesn't quite do it, as you cannot set that as a sort condition. Sticky custom tag/label would be more precise and flexible than 'starred', because one might 'star' a message for multiple reasons.
And/or, option to set a tag or folder as the default view, upon application loading.
Use case: tag "needs followup" or "to do" as default view so that user sees that first thing.
Note: 'Sticking' meaning that they appear prioritized…

Ability to view what core program tasks are in-process
I'm a software developer, and I think of the application of filter rules as core program in-process tasks. The filter is something user-defined, but the invocation and application of that filter is a task enacted by the actual program. Having the ability to view when a core program task is in-process would be beneficial. For example: if I import email from an unsupported client, that could be viewed as a task in an in-program task manager queue; after importing, if I create a filter to send all mail from joe@schmoe.com to my Trash folder and choose to apply it to…
