  1. Cancel email expiration from Inbox index

In the main index of your inbox (or another folder) it's possible to, for each email, mark as read/unread, delete, snooze, star, etc. It would be nice to be able to "unexpire" an email without opening it.

  2. Calendar desktop/web: control the number of visible hours while in day view

Currently, day view shows 24 hours of time. Generally speaking, most people only have calendar events at most half of this time. The rest of the time is empty wasted space that makes what you want to see smaller than it needs to be.

I would like to select or zoom to a particular range of hours either set like from 7 am - 10 pm or a number of hours 12 hours etc to cut down on wasted space allowing me to see detail specifically between the horizontal time bar and the edge of the event block.

  3. Implement Split-Screen View for Better Usability on Foldable Devices and Tablets in Proton Mail Android App

The Proton Mail app on Android currently only allows you to view your email list. On foldable devices or tablets, this makes the email view huge and the inbox selection stretches across the entire screen.

It would be nice to see a split screen for tablets, allowing you to select the emails on the left and the content on the right. Or select the inbox on the left with the email list on the right, so it doesn't look like an oversized smartphone app on a tablet.

  5. Add email or domain to black or whitelist directly from mail (address in message header)

It would be more convenient to add an emailaddress or domain to a black or wite list from within the email directly when having it opened.

Klick on from mail address and provide option not only an add to spam, but unmark from spam if it was a false positive.Better provide the option to add to whitelist (domain or exact email) instead of copying address and go to settings / filters/ blackl/whitelist...

  6. Directly derive a filter/rule from the incoming e-mail

It should be possible to define a filter/rule to an incoming e-mail without going to Settings > Filter like all mainstream e-mail apps.

  7. Open Proton Calendar message in app not web

When I receive a calendar notification in an email to Proton Mail it opens in the web browser. I'd like it to open in the Calendar App.

ProtonMail Email view : Display full date by default ?

Basic design feature - please provide an option in Settings to let user decide whether to show or hide by default the full date and time information of Email messages.

The current design is not productive as one always has to make an extra click/tap to reveal such important info.

    Thank you.

  9. Add POP3 to MOVE email from other accounts (empty them)

When I signed up for a paid plan with Proton, I expected to be able to empty other accounts, especially Gmail.

At the moment, the import from Gmail is IMAP, and that is understandable as you want to import calendar and contacts.

The mail import will bring in labels, but you do not bring in filters. In addition, you do not have the Google filter that goes on in the background and put less important emails in separate tabs called updates, social media, marketing etc.

But the worst thing is that all the email remains with Gmail. I woud like…

  10. Refreshing unread messages should remove read messages from view

On the desktop webapp, when filtering the inbox to only "Unread", clicking the "refresh" icon brings in new unread messages but wouldn't it be logical to also remove read messages?

I stay in the unread inbox almost all day and the only way to clear out the now-read messages is to hard refresh the page or to go to the "All" filter then back to "Unread".

  11. Forward email rule: Message body as a condition

It would be a great addition to be able to forward emails based on the message body.

Currently it is only possible to create rules based on sender, subject or attachment

  12. Omit deleted and archived emails from all views except for trash in all environments

    Request
When a user searches through a filtered list, through a custom query, through a label, or even from the main inbox and deletes emails, the deleted and archived emails remain in the users view.

Please do not display deleted or archived emails in the inbox, or in the view from a custom search, or from clicking on a label that has all the emails.

This functionality works this way in Desktop, but the mobile app experience is different. If you delete or archive an email in the mobile app, it stays in your view.

    Use Case (What should happen)…

  13. Delay when moving the mail to your folder

I would think it would be great if you could delay the moving of mails into folders according to a rule.

I imagine it like this: First the mail appears in the inbox as normal. And then, when you have seen and read this mail, it is automatically moved to the folder in 1-5 days, or after you have read the mail.

I have missed a lot of mails because they were automatically moved to a folder straight away. And even though I have activated notifications, the notification doesn't seem to work for me. What should this notification look like?…

  14. Filter emails with an unsubscribe link to their own folder

Proton currently knows when an email is part of a mailing list, it would be great if we could use that knowledge to filter emails into their own folder, this way you don't have to be notified that x company is offering a discount but you can freely read them at your leisure the next time you check your emails.

I don't like promotional emails pinging every a few hours but I also don't mind them as sometimes they're quite useful.

  15. Differential themes per-product, per-device

Until Proton Mail fixes email content dark mode, I would prefer to change just the Mail product to light mode, for a less jarring UI, but only on Web devices. Other devices, and other products, should continue to use my default Carbon dark mode theme.

  16. Filter Management & Maintenance

Situation: Large amount of filters - 100+ and rising.

    Optimisation:
    - Grouping filters
    - Search filter properties, like labels, addresses etc.
    - Sorting Filters, by name
    - Filter Duplication, Copy Creation

    Example:
Protonmail Label created hundreds of years ago, not recognisable anymore, possibility to find out which filter uses that label important for proper maintenance. Deleting the label obviously not an option.

Have a great day, Proton team!

  18. Advanced Script Integration

Microsoft Office utilizes Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to implement programming logic into their suite, enabling users to develop complex scripts. While this method can be somewhat crude and limited, it offers functionality like automatically cleaning out my inbox by marking all emails as read and moving non-starred messages to the archive.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if ProtonMail offered a similar feature, perhaps using a more modern and versatile language like Python? Currently, I am using these capabilities with my email client because it's essential for my workflow. Imagine being able to write scripts that could automatically archive any email…
