  1. Batched / Scheduled Notifications

    Instead of receiving either no notifications at all, or one notification per new mail, it would be great to have an option to batch notifications on mobile, maybe even web.
    Notify at the top of each hour if there are new emails, at three specific times every day, once every morning, etc.

    It's nessessary because mails are maybe preordered by filters and never reach the Inbox.

  4. The error message ("already taken") when entering a domain-restricted email address (e.g. one containing "Amazon") is not useful

    When the user attempts to add a new email address, and they use a common service provider (e.g. "amazon") in the email address, the error message that is presented ("address already taken") doesn't describe the actual error, and thus provides no information the user can act on (i.e. "don't include 'amazon' in your email address).

    Rather the error should state something like the following: Email addresses cannot contain the names of common service providers, such as "Amazon", "Microsoft", "Apple", and so on.

  5. Enhancing Security with Optional Authentication for Desktop App Access

    The desktop app should include optional authentication features to enhance security. Users should have the choice to enable authentication methods like a PIN, Windows Hello, or Apple’s biometric login. Currently, anyone with access to the PC can open the app and view sensitive information without restrictions. Adding these security measures would help ensure that only authorized users can access the app.

  6. Possible to "find" (ctrl+F) from Linux app

    Currently, the Proton Mail app (beta) for Linux does not have text search (CTRL+F) for finding text within an open email or in the view currenty opened. It would be enormously helpful to have inline text search to quickly find specific text in an email, and without it, the app is hard to use for day-to-day needs.

    This is different from the search bar at the top that searches email subject lines, header info, etc.

  7. Official IMAP/POP3 support w/o proton bridge

    Hi all, I would like to make it, so proton makes an open IMAP/POP3 service. I don't want proton bridge for 2 reasons. 1. only on laptop (I want it on my phone) 2. paid. :(

  9. Access a specific contact from Contact Group list

    When you have a contact group open, we currently have the ability to compose an email or copy the email of any contacts within the group. It would be nice to be able to click on a specific contact from this same spot to be able to view their address, phone number, etc. right from the group list.

  10. Selective import from gmail

    I'd like to switch completely to Proton Mail, but today it's impossible because Gmail is too powerful to sort emails (promotions, social networks, etc). I'd like to be able to import only the emails in my inbox, or those with certain labels. Or, ideally, to have the same sorting on Proton Mail. At the moment, having all my messages in the inbox is unmanageable.

    Finnish language is already supported on web version but language support is missing from mobile apps. Thus translations already exist and should be just added to mobile apps

  15. Accept the 'Enter' key for moving emails

    Hi, would be great if I could file emails using the keyboard. As it is, I can press 'M' to open the folder dialog, type the folder name, press tab to highlight it... ZONK, then I need to click the folder. Can I just press enter to move the email to the highlighted folder please? Would be a very welcome efficiency item. Thank you!

  17. Keyboard shortcut for increasing the font size in email body

    Extend the keyboard shortcuts with options to increase or decrease the font size of the email. I use this to create "headings" when writing a long email that needs the content broken up in sections.

  18. Proper Desktop App for macOS

    The current state of the Desktop App (v1.1.2) for macOS (Sequoia) is in a very sad state. Actually, I currently see no point in using this "App". Why? Because the App makes exactly no effort for proper integration into the system.

    My key pain-points are:

    • Receiving new mails with the Proton Mail window closed creates a notification in the macOS Notification Center. However, when clicking on such a notification, nothing happens.

    • Similarly, it is possible to set Proton Mail as default mail client, but whenever I click on a mail-link, nothing happens. Instead, Proton Mail should open the composer window…

  19. Open Email content in full screen mode

    The size of the e-mail content area is very small on a laptop.

    Allowing e-mail content to be displayed in full-screen mode would make it possible to use Proton Mail on a laptop (with a small screen).

  20. Multiple inboxes based on folder, labels and email alias

    In Gmail I can setup custom layout of multiple inboxes. I can e.g. show first 10 unread messages, first 10 email with given label, and the rest is shown below. Those lists of emails can be collapsed if needed.

    It allows customization of what I can see at a glance when I enter my email and see what is important to me. I don't have to go through folders and labels manually.

    Those inboxes also allow filters. I can setup an inbox that shows emails with applied label and that is unread. Or make rule to show inbox that has…
