  2. Add link to my reply to the reply icon

When I reply to an email, a left-arrow reply icon shows up. I would like that icon to be linked to my reply so it is easier to find my reply when not grouping messages by conversation view.

  3. Should develop a better compatibility with older Android versions

Currently, one of my friends is using a smartphone running on Android 7 and just can't use ProtonMail Android app. Android 7 is, indeed, a bit old but not THAT old. It's not a Nokia 3310...

I think that assuming people will run really recent operating systems is a mistake, especially for a Foundation aiming the public good.
Modest users should have the right to use the app too.

  4. Choose a folder a send Email gets stored at the time it is sent

When I send an Email. the ability to choose what folder a copy of that 'Sent' Email gets stored in would be a useful feature. Rather than just everything defaulting to the 'Send' folder and then having to move it manually.

  6. Do not assemble emails on phone app

1 please let users choose whether they want to see group emails under 1 email or whether they want to see individual emails. Because it's a mess to look and select the specific message on the phone app.

2It's hard to respond to individuals who are part of a group receiving emails on a specific subject. You need to allow users to respond to the single individual or group without having to remove the other individual email address who have read the previous messages which are part of the thread.
    Thanks.

  7. Set a password for email, same as with ProtonPass

I need a separate password for my email only. It already exists for ProtonPass and I need it for ONLY my email as well, one that logs out after xx minutes. I don't want to put in a 2 password option with a code ocode on an app like Authy, that is way to convoluted

  8. Consolidate new mail messages in Windows/web client

I get an individual notification for each message that arrived after I've been away for several hours. Can you just do one consolidated "You have N new emails" notification instead? Thank you.

  9. Adding The Ability To Rename The "Trash" Folder

At the top of an e-mail is the icon of a garbage can. When I hover my mouse over it, a message appears that says "Move to trash." Also, on the left side of my inbox is a folder labelled "Trash."

I would like to change it to "Move To Garbage" and rename the folder to "Garbage." In the part of the world I live in, the word "Trash" is considered a slang word and the correct word is "Garbage."

  10. Use badge or icon for message count instead of [ ]

For readability, it would be better to differentiate multiple messages in a thread/conversation by using a CSS badge or icon with the count instead of the number in square brackets, especially useful when the subject contains words in [ ]

    For example:

    [5] [CLASSIFIED][Notice!] Some message

  11. Allow user to restrict and audit all aliasing

Create settings to allow user to restrict and audit all aliasing for the account.

While aliasing is useful , it can be a double-edged sword.

Email compromise is always a possibility and this feature set is aimed at ensuring, not assuming, that the user has full control of their inbox. Also providing visibility for abuse on other platforms, giving the user information to address the abuse.

    Attack (and risk) scenario:
    1. An attacker compromises a users device.
    2. On that same device, they access the users mailbox. (in a very stealthy fashion)
    3. They create/stage accounts (on other target web…

  13. iOS Disable Screen Capture

Many apps, like Netflix and video editing apps, block screen capture attempts by displaying a black screen. This functionality should be available as at least an option for a privacy-focused app like ProtonMail.

  14. Mail postpone for every inbox type!

Mail postpone (read later) is available for conversation view, but why not for standard view of e-mails? Conversation view is most annoying for me and was on other services, too. I receive several mails over the week with the same subject and all are identified as "same conversation". When I receive three mails from DHL for incoming delivery, I only see one mail, so I presume one package is out for delivery. This keeps me frustrating, so I switched back to the standard view of my inbox, although I lost the feature of postpone received e-mails which I love.

    Any…

  15. I just wanted to thank you, actually, for 'All mail' view and sort by 'largest first'

I've been watching my Proton Mail storage increase towards my current 16GB limit ever since I imported by Yahoo Mail at the beginning. I was pleasantly surprised when 1GB was added to by 15GB limit as the year ticked over 20231231 to 20240101, and then my storage kept growing. I pictured in my head the ability to view all mail in one view, and to list them by email size. I was pleased today to find that this appears to be possible. Thanks.

  16. Linux Apps with Split Screen Support

Linux desktop apps capable of being split screen. Mail and Pass apps can be full screen and resized but not split screen (shift + l/r in gnome). This is possible with any browser so moving to the apps you lose this capability. The VPN and Export apps can't be full screen but again a split screen capability would provide the same benefit. Splitting windows is a common option across Windows, Mac OS and Linux and if like me, it's how I have operated on machines for years.

  18. attaching files

Sort by name - When I attach a larger number of files, I will often rename them with numbers in order for them to make more sense to the receiver ( vis a vis sequential order ) however this is not the way the files are loaded into the attachments ... I now need to load them one by one thus allowing proper sequence, a bit of a missed opportunity in my view

  19. ProtonMail Should Respect DMARC Records

I spoofed my own email address to check how Proton would handle it. ProtonMail delivered the spoofed email to my Spam folder instead of respecting the DMARC record to reject the email delivery.

    According to RFC 7489:
"A Mail Receiver implementing the DMARC mechanism SHOULD make a best-effort attempt to adhere to the Domain Owner's published DMARC policy when a message fails the DMARC test."

Proton is making users less secure by not adhering to the DMARC records which request rejecting spoofed emails.

  20. Attached image as inline or as attachment

Whenever adding any image to email, it always goes as inline attachment.

Some time, I want to add like attachment file

So whenever adding any image file, please ask
Add as inline or add as attachment.

    Missing this feature a lot.

(Just for an example, I am using superhuman and they has same feature and very useful)
