Read receipt / confirmation
Would It is possible to know if the recipient open or read the mail? as https://www.mailbutler.io/en/ or https://mailtrack.io/en/
That would be great!
Thanks

Many users would find this a necessity when dealing with government And/Or public organisations, who have a habit of ignoring emails until they feel they have to respond.
At least knowing they have received ensures that the email did not
There is no valid reason for not sending the "received" And/Or "read" once passed through their email server validation.

A read receipt function would be wonderful!

Proton plus-paid account.
In many cases, it is critical to receive auto feedback on whether the email was delivered and when it was read by the receiver. This means that the following options should be available:
- request a delivery receipt
- request read receiptCurrently, we are limited to only requesting read receipts, and even this option does not always provide the necessary feedback, highlighting the need for improvement.
It happened occasionally that the receiver warned that an email was not received. As a sender, I have only confirmation of sending the email but not a receipt if someone else received it/intercepted it. The only option to prove to the receiver that the email, in fact, has been sent is the FORWARD option to enclose sent data.

Read receipts already exist in protonmail and are implemented in a privacy-friendly way.
If you're asking for FORCING automatic background read receipts in a way that the recipients don't even know about them, then you are asking a privacy-focused company to add targeted tracking to their product as a feature...
Why are y'all even here for? Privacy for me, not for thee?

This is a anti privacy feature and goes against what Proton stands for.

In my eyes, a tracking function to track if the Mail was read or not, is completely against what we are here for at Proton. We chose Proton for their privacy. To add a function where the Mail could get tracked is completely against it.
However If the tracking function would be optional, like you can send it with a tracker, but the receiver can choose if to mark as read or not with a extra button or something, then it would be ok

The fact that "receipt confirmation" is not present on protonmail makes me to think if to use it or not.
How do I know my email was received properly or not?
Read confirmation must be something the recipient decide if to reply or not... like in Outlook.
These two features are a must in any email system.
Please include it in protonvpn and in protonbridge as well. -

Read receipt request is already available.
Now, that doesn't mean the reader allows it. I block such activity, no one should know if I read a message or not unless I deliberately/intentionally reply to them.
***** trackers of all kinds.

There are several options to achieve email tracking, so would be amazing to have this feature implemented in ProtonMail.
We would like to know if our emails are lost or being read. Please, @protonmail team, add this feature. 🙏🏻

J aimerai que le logiciel ProtonMail demande à chaque fois une confirmation de lecture de nos mails envoyés et nous le dise comme preuve,

Proton is about privacy. This goes totally against it.
Also, it's technically not feasible at all! You may integrate an image with a unique URL to trick the receiver, but if its client is not loading images you would not get notified. The only systems allowing that are email providers that provide the feature for its own users (e.g. outlook accounts sending emails to other outlook accounts), and they can do that because they know everything a user does.

Read receipt is really needed. It should either be enabled by the user globally or by individual email. It is very frustrating that this common feature is not present on Protonmail

I hope in the future there is an option that we can know that our email has been read by the receiver who use a different mail provider similar like gmail.

@Admin:
As with any other service, you should be able to choose whether or not to allow read receipts. For business, this is critical. -

I also would like to know when people are reading my emails. Sometimes, my protonmail emails are being flagged as spam and there's no way to tell if the person has seen my email. I used to use mailtrack before on Gmail, and really liked it.

useful (I think gmail had it for a while. On Mailbird, recently added) to be sure recipients got the mail and opened them.
Thanks about thinking to add it in a future feature.
Best regards

Reciept to acknowledge commented
I've recently found use to employ an option to include in some important outgoing emails a receipt or one click acknowledgement the recipient can use to acknowledge the message was received.
