Agreed!
Just like Proton Pass, also other applications in the Proton eco-system should have such an option to enable an additional password for access.
Next to this, one should then be able to switch to using a six-digit PIN. (Here I want to avoid using biometrics.)

The option to request a "Read receipt / confirmation" is already available for us in Proton Mail.
When clicking [New message] in the pop-up showing click on the option-menu [...].
There you can find the option "Request read receipt". This will request the recipient to provide a response.
Note that Proton will, for obvious reasons, not allow for cookies and / or trackers however!
Aside from the above, I'd like the option to request a "Delivery receipt / notification".
The function is described in RFC 1891 and is meant to trace the delivery of an e-mail.

Dependent on the importance of the e-mail sent, I'd like to know whether it reached it's endpoint.
A report will be generated detailing the various mail servers the e-mail went thru and was delivered to.
Note that this happens without trackers! It is part of the mail protocol and implemented for various reasons.
It then will be possible, unless blocked by a processing or receiving mail server, to find out that an e-mail did arrive and / or that an issue occurred.
