Clear Proton Mail Android notification, if that new email was read on desktop or another device
So if I receive a new email, my phone notifies me, and notification stays until I open Proton Mail on my Android phone and read the email. However, if I am at home by my computer, I get a new email, my phone notifies me, but I read that email on my PC instead without touching my phone. The notification of that email stays on my phone screen until I unlock the phone and clear it.
Gmail app would clear the notification of the new email, if that email was (marked) read through PC or other device.
Why this is good idea? If I have my phone on my desk, while working with my PC, uncleared notifications of new email, which I already read on my desktop can falsely tell me that there is a new email. So if I receive a new email, my phone notifies me, and notification stays until I open Proton Mail on my Android phone and read the email. Mail App - Move mail to Folder - implement search function
On Proton Mail Android App: When I want to move a mail to a specific folder, I need to scroll through all of them. It would be nice if a search bar appears where I can search for a specific folder. Yes, I have plenty of folders. :)

Please add Biometric unlock to Calendar
Please add Biometric (fingerprint) unlock to calendar (and Lumo), it and Lumo seem to be the only Proton apps that do not have this feature.

Seamless labelling with hotkeys
Make enter apply the label that is highlighted.
A feature from Gmail that I love is that it's super simple to apply labels with keyboard shortcuts; open label dialog, search for a label and press enter. Job done.
Unless I'm doing it wrong, in Proton Mail on web I have to press "L" to get the labels, search for a label and then use tab key + enter or the mouse pointer to actually apply the label. Instead I want the enter key to apply the highlighted label right away after search (while the search input still has focus) for the right label, without having to do extra keystrokes or use the mouse pointer.

Consider having the ability to quickly launch Lumo directly from emails, that could be handy

Can you copy hey.com mail and calendar?
I've been with Proton since the early days but after seeing hey.com, for the first time I'm tempted to switch.
Both e-mail and calendar UX look awesome. That is, I wish I had every single feature they demo on the homepage (video).
Has Hey caught your attention too? Can you see the Proton's web-mail adopting those features? Or is it something that could be built as a generic IMAP client, hence as a client of Proton Bridge?

Ability to disable login capability for added additional addresses
The fact that I can have more than one address tied to one Proton account is genius, I use it a lot, but here's the thing: I want to disable login capability for some of those addresses.
Like most, I have an account that has a lot of my personal information (Pass, Mail, Drive...), and I also have additional email addresses set up for various purposes. The primary email I use to log into my account is kept private and is not shared, while I use other addresses (such as variations of my full name) when necessary (banks, financial institutions, stuff like that where I don't want to use an alias).
It would be incredibly useful if I could disable login for some of these additional email addresses, so that my Proton account could act as multiple email addresses, but access would only be possible via address(es) I don’t share. This would add an extra layer of security and privacy to the account.
Thanks for considering this request!

push
Auto-dismiss push notifications when email is read on another device
Currently, when I receive a push notification on my iOS device about a new email, the notification remains visible even after I've opened and read that email on another device (such as my laptop or desktop). This creates notification clutter and doesn't reflect the actual state of my inbox.
Proposed Feature:
Implement cross-device notification synchronization so that push notifications are automatically dismissed on iOS when the corresponding email is read on any other logged-in device.Use Case:
Receive email notification on iPhone
Open and read the email on laptop/desktop
Notification automatically disappears from iPhone lock screen and notification centerBenefits:
Reduces notification clutter
Provides accurate inbox state across all devices
Improves user experience by eliminating manual notification dismissal
Brings Proton Mail in line with other modern email clients that support this featureAuto-dismiss push notifications when email is read on another device

Delete all past events button
When I use calendar, I delete past events. This is a nightmare. You have to open, click delete button and confirm. 3 steps for each event.
Can you offer delteing by keyboard "delete" button without confirmation window to speed up deleting or offer bulk delete or even better would be button to "Delete all past events"?7 votes -
Password protect Proton Mail for Linux
Beta 1.10.1 (5.0.87.5)
Ability to protect the Proton Mail for Linux client with a password like it is for Proton Authenticator.
I don't mention Proton Pass because the extra password there is synced between devices as a second authentication factor, while Proton Authenticator on linux has the option to setup an optional local password to lock the app without affecting other devices.

Support .heic photo attachments in mail—“attached” .heic photos show in my drafts/sent emails, but recipients tell me they haven’t received.
Notes/tl;dr-ish :
Please note that as far as I can find: .heic = now the standard image file extension for any images taken via an apple device’s camera)
** Additional note: proton mail users do not seem to receive any error codes to tell them that these attachments were never sent.
***Please bear with me: I have tried to put all tl;dr info in the title & notes (above), but I struggle to write succinctly. I do believe this to be an issue that may affect any people that attach photos to their emails that were taken by an iphone/ipad.
Based from a comment I made on a laterally related post about .heic preview within proton mail (where other commenters mentioned that .heic photos aren’t recognised or displayed as photos within Proton Drive.
I am making a seperate post rather than just leaving my comment on the original post, as I believe that post was a different enough request to the issue that I have been experiencing, as well as that post being from May 2024.
This is also an issue that I believe proton mail users may not be notified via the app, that their recipients have not received the attached images. This is something I have figured out only after receiving replies back from email recipients that the/some attachments I have referred to were not sent to them.
Please see the link to the previous post here: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/48426479--heic
My comment:
WAIT—I trawled through this forum to try to find if anyone else was having a similar ongoing issue to me, as an ios & ipadOS app user.
might THIS be the reason why whenever I attach photos I’ve taken on my iphone to an email on the proton app (via: import from photo library), I will say “please see attached” and although I can see the attached photos, the receiver gets back to me saying that there were no attachments??!?!?
My workaround this year has been uploading photos from my camera roll to the ios files app, and then trying to attach via importing from files.
But I didn’t realise that any photos that I’ve been doing this with (taken from an iphone, where .heic seems to have been default for a while), over the past ~1 year may have not ever been received by any of the email’s recipients!!!!
I really wish that proton could officially clarify what the deal is with .heic file compatibility is, both on proton mail (app & and web), and any of the other proton services (from what I can gather from the comments section).
This means that I can at least know that any .heic photo attachments should go through a .jpg converter first in the meantime, and that I don’t need to worry about .jpg, .jpeg, .png photo file formats not being sent through the ios photo library import, via proton mail app.
I have literally been creating new google drive shared folders (google bleh) to send a link to email recipients out of fear that the photos may have disappeared from the attachments without me having any clue……that and avoiding sending images over proton mail on apple apps, exporting from my photo library to my phone’s files, and other convoluted ways to try troubleshoot, since at least a year ago now.
Can proton PLEASE provide some clarity so we can find workarounds if it’s not actionable, or if there will be a delay in adding .heic compatibility, which would be very understandable! I just wanna know what is sending/what disappears :”(

Prevent unnecessary obfuscation of From addresses to increase phishing prevention
Scenario:
If I send an email using one of my own passmail alias to a regular email address, I will receive responses from an address that has been obfuscated through passmail. For example
- I send an initial email from "personal.alias.aw3kl44@passmail.net" to "support@acmecorp.com"
- I receive a response from "supportatacmecorp_com.98ayuj@passmail.net"
Problem:
This is problematic because I'm now unable to validate the sending address of the response. Is this a legitimate response or a phishing attempt?Expected result:
If I send an email to target address, I expect the response to be from the exact same address or, at very least, from an address on the same domain. Otherwise there is not reason for me to trust the validity of the response.Scenario:

Search contents of currently open message
Add feature to ProtonMail to allow us to search the text in the message we are currently viewing. This would be like some browsers (e.g., Brave mobile) call "Find in Page."

multiple accounts unread emails
I use ProtonMail Desktop (love it) with multiple Proton accounts. In the account switcher on the top right is it possible to have a badge in each account with the number of unread emails?
Also background check of this will be great, so when I see a badge counter there I switch to the other account to read the unread emails.PD: Giving feedback and having to sign in with google... come on...

Allow images in Auto-Reply rmessage
Please allow us to put images in the Auto-Reply message. We used to have this feature in Google, and lost it when we switched to Proton.
We love using Auto-Reply as a first, automatic response from our business when customers reach out to us, and it would be much improved with images.

Add REMINDER tool to work with Calendar - like Samsung Reminder & Google Task
I use Proton Calendar as my Calendar on laptop and Samsung phone. I read article praising the Samsung REMINDER app and how it works in coordination/integrated with Samsung's calendar - similar to how Google Tasks works with their calendar. I use Samsung's CLOCK app for reminders, but it is not a great tool for that purpose. Proton has been making very good tools that are included with my DUO/FAMILY package and I would love if you could add this to your portfolio.
Article describes this "https://www.howtogeek.com/samsung-has-a-google-tasks-rival-and-its-my-favorite-to-do-app/?utm_source=HTG-NL&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=HTG-202511100645&user=amZhem55dHJpYWxAcHJvdG9uLm1l&lctg=b5b5ba25038d731f0c366f7e34f494a9f9400e3980a2403c7aee6d19de31e181".6 votes -

Create a Mail Plus offer for 2 users
I would nice to create a Mail Plus Duo offer to allow a second email user, with just the same options as Mail Plus, but keeping the price reasonable under 10€, and avoid paying €19.99/month or €14.99/month for a Proton Duo..

Androlid App shortcuts
With Gmail and Google Calendar on Android, I was able to tap and hold the app icon to draft a new email or add a new event. I'd love to have similar functionality on Proton Mail and Proton Calendar. Thank you!!
