  1. Auto shutdown when phone put in airplane mode

I would love for the VPN to automatically stop trying to connect when I place my phone in airplane mode and also have it auto connect when I take my phone out of airplane mode.

While in airplane mode (with no WiFi services, such as on a flight) the application keeps attempting to connect to a server. This significantly drains my battery, unless I remember to manually disconnect it after toggling airplane mode on.

  2. Show server’s/country’s flag on browser’s extension instead of locked icon

It would be a nice visualization and addition to
the browser extension if we could see the flag of the servers or countries we connect to instead of having a green lock. The new browser extension would allow us to see and remember what country we are connected to without having to click the extension every time to see if we are connected . However, when browser extension is not connected to a server I think it is convenient to display a red unlocked icon, since we aren’t connected to a server

  3. Search for VPN server

I'd like the ability to quickly type and search for VPN servers/countries, on both iOS and Mac. Surfshark does this and it's such a friendly way to quickly switch to different countries based on my needs. on protonvpn, I have to scroll and search for the flag/abbreviation of the country, which is not a great UX

  5. Provide an option to manually sort (change order of) "pinned" connections

First, regarding the WINDOWS client, thanks for the option to "pin" recently used locations/servers (connections). Much appreciated!

REQUEST: To improve the "pin" function on the WINDOWS client (and potentially other clients), please provide an option to manually sort (change order of) "pinned" locations/servers (connections).

Currently, on the WINDOWS client, you offer options to "unpin" and "remove" pinned connections.

In addition to "unpin" and "remove" options, I'd like to have an option to "move" where each pinned connection appears within the list of "pinned" connections. For example, upon selecting the proposed "move" option on the WINDOWS client, I hope to be…

  6. Ability to see current load of selected servers - web interface or API

I use the router config exclusively.

Need a quick way other than visiting the web dashboard and drilling down to find current load of any given server... it's cumbersome to visit the web page, click through the menu, scroll down to country, expand the list, then open browser search to find the server you're looking for.

An API would be awesome. With an API in place, clients could be built for various platforms (windows, mac, ios, browser extension, etc.)

Then when server loads goes nuts I can quickly switch (via my router app) to another server I have already configured.

  8. Re-enable access to API

Until recently, users could access the API (https://api.protonvpn.ch/vpn/logicals) to filter servers based on various criteria (e.g., country and server load) to ensure connection to a server that isn't overloaded. This ability was removed within the past few days. Support replied with the following:

Hello, Thank you for contacting us. Public access to the https://api.protonvpn.ch/vpn/logicals endpoint is no longer available due to internal changes. What you were using previously was not officially supported, and you can either use our native application to access the servers and their load, or manually download config files for a manual connection from https://account.protonvpn.com/downloads. If you need any

  9. VLAN/Lan access

It should be possible to define routes which are not routed over the VPN. So currently my wifi devices are in a dedicated vlan, if I try to connect to a different vlan then with VPN on, its not possible.

  10. Proton VPN for Windows - reconnecting

When a Windows 11 PC sleeps/hibernates the VPN client does not reconnect and "spins". You have to fully close out of the VPN app, relaunch and then reconnect.

  11. Change or revert the new look.

Companies seem to always go back and forth with this constantly in these industries with making things look more compact. Usually all this does is make it take more clicks to get to something that the user needs to get to making it more inconvenient to use. Function over form please. When trying to pick a certain or specific connection now it takes three to four clicks going through menus when it used to just be a list.

  12. Ugly Green. Offer additional VPN app theme color choices.

The new redesign is great, except for the ugly grandma kitchen green theme. Also, why is the best look you could come up with is some fading fog of war looking filter as if it's a video game from 1997?

If you're going to stick with the fog of war look, then at least allow us to choose the colors.

I'm cool with all of the other green, it's just that fog look you got. It's really the only theme color that dominates the entire space. I'd much rather that filter be disabled, but if you won't let us disable…

  13. What if Proton VPN offered access to SCION?

SCION is slowly growing to become more integrated leveraged by Anapaya (https://www.anapaya.net/scion-internet). Access to services using SCION like electronic banking solutions is usually limited to companies as they can afford entering SCION networks directly. Inidividuals seem to be limited to "wormhole" themselves into SCION.
What if Proton VPN offered direct access into SCION?
If I understood correctly the architecture would be as follows: on my personal device I use Proton VPN connecting to an SCION-enabled (they call ist SCIONabled) VPN server. Whenever I require resources from SCION the Proton VPN server running Anapaya EDGE (https://docs.anapaya.net/en/latest/edge/deployment/#appliance-edge) puts…

  14. Allow profiles to select a city on macOS/iOS

This is already available with Windows and Android, please bring this existing feature to macOS and iOS.

It's especially useful for users in bilingual countries, where only being able to select a country at the profile/quick connect level often lands you on a server in a city that speaks a different language (and thus causes websites to default to the wrong language).

Selecting by city is a tedious manual step on these platforms, and is annoying to have to do by hand every time.

Would be nice to be able to change the order in which defined protocols are displayed, so the most commonly-used ones could be on top.

Ability to change protocol without opening VPN GUI. Want to be able to dial down Netshield temporarily when it causes a web site not to load correctly

  19. Integration in GL.iNET firmware

    Hi

You already integrated Proton VPN into Vivaldi browser (wich is closed source and looks pretty shady). So can you consider integration your VPN into GL.iNET firmware?

I will be really happy with this. And many GL.iNET customers too.

You can see that it is required by this links:
