  1. Wireguard Configuration Page

On the Wireguard configuration page, instead of limiting server options for users, how about builtding a filter that would allow users to select the country and city/state. This would allow the list to be generated on demand thus allowing users to select the best server for their use case. This should also minimize the over head of providing the full list and also allowing it to filter out servers that are under maintenance. I think this would be huge imprrovment for usability and could improve customer satisfaction.

  2. Set Default Connection to Specific U.S. State

I only ever want to connect to servers in the state I live in. Currently in order to do so I have to manually find that state in the connections list. Connecting to the fastest server will sometimes connect me to another state, and pinning the state connection still lists it as "United States" which is not descriptive and doesn't distinguish it from other pinned U.S. connections. Linux has the option to set the default connection to specific servers or other options (bust not states). This should be available on all platforms, or at the very least allow for creating…

  3. Announcement of DNS Filterlists or further Insight into NetShield

It is hard to decide wether to choose Proton VPN with Netshield or a custom DNS Server to avoid beeing tracked by Android App Trackers and App Analysis Tools. This is because Proton gives little information about what connections are being blocked by NetShield. It would be very very helpful to know which common IPs or Tracking Providers are being blocked. That would prevent Users from having to make decisions by gut feeling. It would also bring more Users who are not as tech savvy as others and who want a whole in one solution. Other DNS Server Providers like…

  4. More physical server providers in Indonesia

Hello. I just noticed that u guys finally added a new server provider in Indonesia that is actually located in Indonesia. From what i have noticed it looks like the multiple servers are from the same server provider. Is it possible to have more servers from another server provider?

The reason for this is the fact that sometimes our ISPs have a bad link to that server provider which will add latency or make our speed worse. Not only that sometimes that said server provider can have a bad international link to some servers that maybe we want to access.…

  5. Provide a hostname with A + AAAA records for WireGuard dual-stack support

WireGuard only allows a single endpoint address per peer. This means customers who receive both an IPv4 and IPv6 address cannot use both protocols in their WireGuard configuration — they have to pick one.
If you provided a hostname per server with both an A and AAAA record, WireGuard clients would automatically resolve to whichever protocol is available on their network. This would make dual-stack WireGuard setups work out of the box without requiring customers to register their own domain.

  6. Real-Time VPN Connection Security and Data Privacy Verification

It would be useful if ProtonVPN could indicate in real time whether the VPN connection is truly active or has been disconnected.

It is important that any data traffic generated during the connection (such as DNS queries, IP addresses, and visited websites) is genuinely not logged or is securely deleted in real time.

It would be helpful if all of this could be verifiably confirmed in real time, so that users can be confident about their data security.

  7. Nevada

Please add servers back to Las Vegas. It was a huge reason why I chose proton back in 2021. Im from Nevada but work out of the state which causes all sorts of issues when browsing or trying to log into financial institutions.

  9. Maintain 'Open' or 'Moderate' NAT Type While Port Forwarding for Enhanced Multiplayer Gaming Experience"

Why does enabling port forwarding change the NAT type from "Moderate" to "Strict"? It should either be "Open" or remain "Moderate." This distinction is crucial for many online P2P multiplayer games, such as GTA Online & many more, where a "Strict" NAT type severely hampers multiplayer functionality.

I hope that in the future, Proton VPN can address this issue, allowing users to achieve an "Open" or "Moderate" NAT type while port forwarding is enabled.

I hope this concern is taken seriously. Thank you.

  10. Proton VPN Windows client prevents LAN access. Help!

When the Proton VPN Windows client is connected to the VPN, I am unable to access other PCs on the LAN. If PVPN is disconnected, then the PCs are accessible. The setting in the client to allow LAN access is enabled. The PCs on the LAN all have static IP addresses, as do all the networking devices. So, how can LAN resources be made available when PVPN is connected?

  11. Fastest Server Priority Settings — Primary & Fallback Location Configuration

    Summary
Add a "Fastest Server Priority" setting across all Proton VPN apps (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android) that lets users pin a Primary and a Fallback country to the Fastest Server connection mode — so speed-optimized connections still respect geographic preference.

    Proposed Behavior
When Fastest Server is active, Proton VPN resolves the connection in this order:

    A. Primary — Connect to the fastest available server in the user's preferred country (e.g., Philippines).

    v
    v
    v

    B. Fallback — If the Primary country is fully unavailable due to maintenance or an outage, automatically switch to the Fallback country (e.g., Singapore) without…

  12. ProtonVPN is not reliable enough to be "Always On"

On MacOS (and to a lesser degree iOS) there are times when ProtonVPN just stops working, often for many minutes. However, at least on the Mac (Sonoma 14.5, and don't make me use Liquid Glass), when ProtonVPN fails, it still keeps trying to turn itself back on. The result is that the Internet doesn't work at all. This is frustrating on deadline. There have been times when the only way for me to get the Internet back is by uninstalling ProtonVPN and rebooting. Obviously nobody wants that. It's especially frustrating in a time crunch.

Give me a "Emergency Off" button…

  13. Kill-Switch with Split-Tunneling for Mac

Apparently ProtonVPN has implemented this feature in Windows:

Proton removes restrictions on simultaneous feature usage on Windows
    - Users can now use Split Tunneling, Kill Switch, and NetShield altogether
    - Split tunneling is currently in beta for Mac and Linux users

If you’ve been using Proton VPN on Windows, you’ve likely encountered a frustrating "pick two" scenario. For a long time, the app forced users to make a compromise: if you wanted to use split tunneling to route specific apps outside the VPN, you often had to disable other critical security features.

According to an X post by the company,…

  14. Add ProtonVPN to the macOS App Store

I'd like the ProtonVPN app to be available on the macOS App Store. The app store enforces the App Sandbox and handles autoupdates for all my apps, so it's very convenient for me. ProtonVPN is already available on iOS so the macOS version shouldn't be too difficult.

  15. Improve region selection for high-population nations

The current region selection system for Proton VPN really only works well for low- and mid-population nations, and is highly problematic for many regions of high-population nations. As an example, I can choose the UK, and then select from a list of the six cities in which you provide local presence. This is great. If I want to pop out in London, as opposed to Cardiff, I can. However, in California, U.S., this doesn’t work. Your system cannot iterate down further than one step (nation > city), where there are many places where you might want to go two steps (nation >…

  17. Replace location switch timers with advertisements

The way that the free version of Proton VPN currently works (on mobile, at least) is that the locations users can switch to are randomised, and there are timers that force you to wait between switches. Not only is this annoying for users, but from a business perspective, it doesn't seem very profitable. I understand that these features are here to encourage people to buy the premium version, but that leaves the people who don't want a subscription not being profitable at all. My proposal is to replace the timers and randomisation with needing to watch an ad to switch…

  18. Extend NetShield content blocking options

I wish NetShield had more fine-tuned content blocking options beyond malware and ads/trackers. Mullvad can also block the following:
    - Gambling
    - Adult content
    - Social media

Please add these options to NetShield so I don't have to trust a third party custom DNS (and risk being fingerprinted for it). Proton might treat this as low priority, but it's important to me. This and DAITA are some of Mullvad's distinctive features, so I'd appreciate if Proton had them too.

  20. Microsoft Edge for Android Extension

Microsoft Edge on Android now supports browser extensions, yet the number of available VPN extensions is extremely limited. At the moment, only a few providers such as AdGuard, Browsec, and NordVPN are present in the Edge Add-ons store.
Although ProtonVPN already offers an Android application, it establishes a system-wide VPN connection. Many users would prefer a browser-only VPN option that routes traffic only from the browser without affecting the entire operating system. A ProtonVPN extension for Microsoft Edge on Android would address this need, offering a lightweight, flexible, and privacy-focused browsing solution while expanding ProtonVPN’s presence on mobile platforms.
