How can we improve Proton Drive?

    Use Proton Drive as primary storage, with the ability to save and edit files from software such as MS Office, Adobe, etc directly via the drive without using a local HDD

  2. AI auto files organisation for drive

    Now we have a lot of AI tools to help us, but no drive has implemented an artificial intelligence solution to organize our files automatically.

    We all have lots of files lying around but we never have time to organize them well, put them in the correct folders, etc. An AI that does this for us will be perfect

  3. Introduce alerts when a file/folder is downloaded

    I would like to get alerted when a file/folder is downloaded, the alert can go to a different email than my proton account. With this I believe will enhance the awareness of important files

  4. change wallpaper on ProtonMail web app based on Photos on ProtonDrive

    Hi
    on Gmail, we can change wallpaper based on the photos on Google Drive and I hope ProtonMail can do the same thing with ProtonDrive. What do you think?

  6. shared folder notifications of file upload

    It would be great if it was possible to have a customizable notification email sent to designated addresses when a file gets uploaded to a shared folder, both between proton users and external users.

    The same for if people have a drop folder, that the owner user would receive a notification of that activity.

    This is especially useful for business activity where for a time you may have to share files securely and in real time. For example: if you are in legal proceedings and need to supply documents to your lawyer on a regular basis, you can do so…

  7. Navigate by path

    I would like to be able to navigate by a known path.

    Right now, I have to manually click down each node of the path to get to my destination folder. Folders with many files/folders take some time to populate to be able to click on. If I know my path, I'd like to be able to enter the folder path to skip navigating each node on the path.

  8. Number of files left to sync for macOS

    When syncing to a macOS client it would be nice to see how many files there are left to sync as an idea of how long it may take or if it had got stuck

  10. Customize Folders to backup structure

    An option that doesn't really exists with the competitors, having the ability to choose a target folder for the backups with ProtonDrive.

    Right now, if I have a folder "Photos" and I would love to only backup a few folders in it (ex: 2020, 2021, etc.) I have to select those but they will appear on Proton as 2020, 2021. If we could specific the destination folder I could have a "Photos" folder to which I'd select to backup 2020, 2021 in.

    Current:
    2020 -> 2020
    2021 -> 2021

    Future:
    2020 -> Photos\2020
    2021 -> Photos\2021

    Giving more flexibility to…

  11. Windows app: give same options as in web and Android to share files, etc

    Currently the desktop Windows app only lists what is on Proton Drive
    There is no functionality like being able to share files, etc. These functions are in the web and Android version. Please add to Windows app.

  12. Markdown support

    We all need the key feature, which is Docs and Sheets support, but in the meantime would be also nice to deliver markdown support to be able to create it directly in the drive and export it to PDF for example. I guess that most of cases people need to create some kind of statements or easy documents and export them, and it could be done just with markdown integration as we can see with HackMD or Obsidian and other. From my point of view, it's a trade-off between developer complexity and user usability.

  14. Allow the android client to access cameras connected via USB directly.

    Right now, if you want to back up photos from a camera to your ProtonDrive account via a tablet, the most straightforward way is to import the images to the tablet, and then open the ProtonDrive app and upload them. I propose skipping the middle step and simply upload them from the camera directly to ProtonDrive.

    1. If you have an inexpensive tablet, the number of photos to backup might easily exceed the space available on the tablet.
    2. Such backups might be crucial for photojournalists using professional cameras in ares where security forces sometime confiscate cameras. The alternative is hiding the…

  15. [IOS App] Let us the possibility to scroll through the images

    For example, you are in a folder with all you last vacation pictures :

    currently we have to open a picture, close it and then open a new one !
    It's horrible in term of UX :p

  18. Select Video Player

    At the moment, the ability to open or stream a video on Proton Drive is restricted to the default player via andriod mobile. Could we explore the possibility of allowing users to choose their preferred video player, similar to the feature offered by Dropbox?

  19. SHARED FOLDERS : Subfolders and contents need download counters and a share indicators.

    If you share a folder only the folder pointed to by the URL link records if it is shared and how many downloads have occurred using that link.

    Within the shared folder the "details" menu option of each subfolder and file indicate they are not shared and doesn't record if they have been downloaded.

    All shared objects need to indicate they are being shared and how many downloads have occurred. Currently the management of shared objects is very limited if you don't have this information.

  20. Release a visionary plan for black friday.

    For those of us who initially missed out, it would be nice to have an option for visionary. Even if it is more expensive than the original, this would be a nice way to have a symbiotic relationship with Proton and also potentially drum up sales for Proton.
