  1. Adding photos manually from an Android phone to Proton Photos

I later crop or delete photos on my phone, edit videos, but resynchronization does not work for changes to photos or videos, nor does synchronization for deletions, when I delete photos or videos in ProtonDrive, it is not deleted on my phone.

  2. Add fast scroll bar (jump from month to month) to albums, like in all photos

The new scrollbar allowing you to jump from year to year and month to month in the all photos list is really nice. I wish the albums had it, right now I have to create an album per year to make large albums workable.

I've tried both iOS and the web app and didn't see this in either place, although the announcement of the fast scroll bar seemed to indicate it should be there.

  3. Voice notes into Proton Drive

A "Voice Notes" feature in Proton Drive would be nice. You would record your voice notes, sound recording and Drive encrypts it and store the file in Drive cloud automatically.

  4. Separate or tag devices for Photos

When backing up photos, save each device's photo library to a separate folder or at least tag which device the photo came from.

I take personal photos on my phone and photos for my business on my tablet, I don't want to mix them up in a single collection.

  5. Link accounts to log in just once

I have a personal account and one with a client. Every time I log in fresh and I want to switch between accounts I have to "add another account". Please create a feature to be able to link all accounts into one login.

  6. exchange or upload files safely within GDPR guidelines for our customers as proton business users

lots of us have customers, who'd like to share clientdata with us within gdpr guidelines, for which we create undersignments with customers. Customers should be able to safely exchange personal and medical data to us business users through a proton upload facility

  7. A central page to deal with conflicts

Title basically. Doesn't have to be fancy, doesn't have to have extra functionality. No notifications no warnings, just a list I visit whenever I am looking to freeup extra bytes.

I just want to know what conflicts I have. Maybe then I can deal with them manually, or have the app deal with them.

I hate that my PC drive will slowly get fillied with conflicted files without me knowing- Unless I go search every folder in my PC?

  8. I frequently experience issues with input not being accepted on my iPad Air and Magic Keyboard.

I tried inputting text into Proton Sheets using an 11-inch iPad Air M2 and the official Magic Keyboard, but the following problems frequently occur:

    • Pressing the cursor keys does not move the cell.

    • When typing text with the cursor in a cell, the typed text is not entered into the cell (the typed text does not appear anywhere on the screen, and there is no response whatsoever).

The conditions under which these problems occur are unclear. Sometimes, tapping the screen several times will allow input to be accepted, but often this does not.

In any case, these are basic bugs,…

  9. Add to album list order

It's not clear what's the order in the "add to album" list from a selected photo. It should be by name, or better to be selectable (date, alphabetical...) or searchable with a text box.

  11. Expand Proton Drive Search to Include Trash, PCs, and Mobile Devices

As a Visionary Plan user, I use Proton Drive a lot for storing and managing my files. It would be really helpful if the search feature could be expanded to include:

Trash Folder: Right now, finding deleted files in the Trash is hard because there's no search. Adding search here would make it much easier to recover lost files quickly.
Files on My PCs and Mobile Devices: Currently, search only works for files inside Proton Drive. If it could also search files on my linked devices, it would save me a lot of time and make managing my files much…

  12. Better aligned functions between the apps on separate devices

For example: I can share a file/folder from my mobile phone Drive app, and get a link for this. I can even look at the shared files in the dedicated section 'Shared' and flick between 'Shared with me' and 'Shared by me'. Why can't the latter also be part of the desktop app? It would save me a lot of time.

Also, 'Create document' would be great in the desktop Drive app, even if it opens my desktop browser to do so, but a dedicated document app would be fantastic!

  14. Add a way to clear/hide the activity section in the menu bar window

For privacy reasons, there should be a way to clear or completely disable the activity section in the menu bar window on Mac.

  15. Add function to snap a chart to the grid

Add a feature to snap a chart to the grid. So, for example, if it is resized, it follows the grid cells.

  16. Activities should never clear and be openable

In the Proton Drive app, the activity section only shows files that were just uploaded and will then clear the history. You also can't click the files to quick open them up. I think Activity should be more like a "recents" tab that shows most recent edited files for quick access where you can just click to open them.

  17. Add Conditional Sync Pause Feature for Proton Drive

I use Proton Drive to back up certain files for a game. However, it causes significant performance issues when the game is running due to constant synchronization. Currently, I have to manually pause the syncing, which requires me to remember to manually sync the files later.

A feature that pauses syncing based on specific conditions would be very helpful. These conditions could include:

    • When a window is in full-screen mode
    • When certain processes are running (like games)

This feature would benefit not only gamers but also anyone who needs a stable internet connection during critical tasks.

  18. Native DLP Capabilities for Business/Visionary Plans

As an Information Security Consultant currently advising small and mid-sized organizations on migrating from legacy suites (specifically Microsoft 365 E3/E5) to privacy-first, sovereign European alternatives. While Proton’s zero-knowledge architecture is the gold standard for data confidentiality, my risk assessments consistently identify a significant gap in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities for Business and Visionary tiers.

Current compliance frameworks (GDPR Article 32, ISO 27001, SOC 2) require not just encryption at rest/in transit, but active controls against accidental or malicious exfiltration of sensitive data (PII, PHI, PCI-DSS).

Proton excels at preventing external interception. However, it lacks the ability to inspect outbound…

  19. Normalize file names to NFC Unicode on sync to fix macOS–Windows compatibility with Korean characters

    [Problem]
macOS stores Korean characters using NFD (Canonical Decomposition), while Windows and Linux use NFC (Canonical Composition). When files with Korean names are synced between platforms, the differing Unicode normalization forms cause file name conflicts, duplication, or sync errors.

    [Root cause]
macOS HFS+/APFS decomposes characters into constituent jamo (NFD). The same Korean string has a different byte sequence on macOS vs Windows/Linux, even though it looks identical to users. This is a known OS-level behavior, not a user error.

    [Requested fix]
Normalize all file and folder names to NFC before syncing, regardless of the originating OS. This is the approach…

  20. Adding Storage in increments

I am intrigued by the Proton Unlimited plan but am only allowed 500GB of storage. One Drive gives me 1TB with a subscription to Office 365, but allows for the option to purchase additional storage tiers ($9.99/1TB)

iCloud+ is even better with being able to purchase plans in 2TB increments for $9.99/mo and lac out to 12TB

For users of the Unlimited and higher plans, make it easier for users to get more storage in increments if needed.
