We really need this - it is ridiculous that we don't have a version of Proton app on the actual privacy focused OS yet

It is ridiculous that we don't have a proton client for linux yet. I should be able to use the cloud backup I pay for on a system that is actually privacy focused when your company claims to focus on privacy

I was hoping to keep a local backup of my proton drive using rclone, but that has been depreciated. Do I have to find another solution?

They just buried the Linux Drive implementation request with almost 6.000 votes. Instead of acknowledging it and interacting with their user base. Such scummy behavior.

I am thinking about switching to another provider unless this happens soon. It's really hard to use proton drive without being able to mount it on Linux desktop.

Unbelievable for a company proclaiming "privacy by default" this has not yet been realised, even tough other/newer products have been launched!

Same here. If Linux is not supported this year, I will leave. It does not take that much resources to make this happen and Linux is now 5% of all pcs and growing. If Proton wants growth they should make this happen now or never.

Linux support is absolutely essential for us to make this offer usable in our private and work environments. I am very much hoping for the SDK and stable products built on it.

Completely agree and this is now critical given the way Microslop is going and more people are leaving Windows.
I now only use a Windows machine to use Adobe apps so good proton Linux support is CRITICAL.

Affirming this. How does it makes sense that Proton is marketing privacy to pull away from MS and Apple with many of those people trying to migrate to Linux. What then is there to do when you migrate everything to proton and solutions don't exist for what is a reasonable next step. This feels like wandering in the desert now, but hey, my files are encrypted. Yay!?

Same here, I would like a proton drive for linux general , ( I am linux mint too xfce desktop) If you do that will be ahead from the competition. There is no other platform that has it, only dropbox.

100% Agree with everyone here. I am currently on the Duo Plan and have been a Proton customer going on 5 years now.

I am now actively looking at alternatives for Proton services when my subscription comes up for renewal next year as I was expecting Proton to be better than Big Tech.

Proton is releasing unfinished products faster than Google these days, without ever completing the functionality of their existing products.

Essentially zero Linux support and the Proprietary file formats for Docs and Sheets is a huge red flag for me too.

They are going down the road of Vendor lock-in that is all too familiar and I think I need to get out before it is a huge mission to move elsewhere.

I moved to Filen recently and deleted everything from Proton Drive and have been really happy with the Linux and Mobile Clients thus far.

I hope Proton has a long hard look at their direction and course-corrects soon or I think I am out sadly.

SDK release (https://github.com/ProtonDriveApps/sdk) & rclone support should be priority number one. If I don't have something equivalent to Pcloud AppImage / Infomaniak Kdrive I'll not reniew.I'm fed-up waiting for something basic.

Agreed, I need this as well! I've abandoned Windows and need a Linux solution.
