More free filters
Add more free filters like at least 3 because free accounts only have 1 available filter and paid accounts have unlimited. I've also seen similar posts on here from 2016 of this issue and free accounts still only have 1 filter.

I would also like to suggest allowing more filters. A filter is not part of the email service, it is a usability feature (it defines how well the email client works, and has nothing to do with the actual email service of protonmail).

I would like to chip in into this as well, of all the payed features, this one is the only one I actually need.
For this to pay a monthly fee I also do not really understand. I do not want to have more storage, more date, custom domains what might cost extra storage etc, just a bit more labels.
Please change this to at least 10 labels + 10 folders.

It's not affecting me (paid user), but if you allow 3 folders and 3 tags, then I can count a minimum of 7 filters
- folder 1
- folder 2
- folder 3
- tag 1
- tag 2
- tag 3
- spamRound it to 10 filters and it's actually giving out to the free users the chance to actually user the features, so they may want to switch to the pay version later!

I second this also. I filter my emails extensively since I'm on a lot of mailing lists, and if my only option is to pay to have this feature that Gmail gives us for free, I will just give up on Protonmail entirely. Likewise with giving us only 3 labels; this one is especially egregious because if you import data from Gmail it will bring over more labels than the cap without needing to pay, so it's obviously just an arbitrary restriction on the developer's part.

Just one filter is too little even for a free account. I think that at least 2 or 3 free filters could be given to basic users. Most mail services give them for free, and I don't think it would be such a huge economic difference if users have 3 filters instead of 1; those who pay for having a bunch of filters will still continue to pay, and those who don't pay just for one more filter, will have a better experience (and maybe won't switch back to proprietary mails)

Etre limité à trois dossier en version gratuite est tout à fait dérisoire.
Cher n'importe quel autre fournisseur le nombre est bien supérieur.
Je regrette déjà d'avoir créé la boite mail de notre association chez vous.Cordialement

I second this. One filter per free account is far too restrictive. Because of this I have not been able to move entirely to Protonmail from my former email provider.

My wife doesn't like Proton for the only reason that it gives her 3 folders to work with. If we can update the amount of folders to provide more, she would use proton exclusively

A one-off payment to enable some features, like more folders would be great. And filters to move mail to said folders (free users can have only one).
A small one-off payment option to enable more filters and folders/labels, even with a lower number than the other plans... something like 50 would be nice.

After horrible experiences with Gmail, I moved to ProtonMail and was really happy at first, but I've now discovered that you can't have more than 3 folders in the free version. This surely makes ProtonMail completely useless to most people? Who on earth can organize all their emails in their life into just THREE categories? That seems insane to me. I'm now having to consider finding another email provider, which is sad as I thought ProtonMail was the answer. But surely no one can organize their emails into only THREE folders? In Gmail I had dozens of folders. I would say 7 would be the bare minimum for anyone.

I want to use more than three folders, but I don't need anything else that comes with an upgrade so why can't I buy folder access seperately OR pay less (a dollar a month/dollar per folder, etc...) for features like folder use without the extras. OR you could just give free users access to unlimited folders like EVERY OTHER email provider. Please, this is a bigger problem then some people realize.

I whole heartedly endorse this proposal. Maybe 10 folders would be sufficient for the free version. I most need to be sble save emsils from specific people that I am carefully choosing to use and send me email to and from. I love the overall simplicity and uncluttered appearance of your interfsce and most important to me is your security and encryption systems. I have had very recent and damaging o
Instances of hacking and attempted scamming and am truly serious about preventing anything like that from ever happening again. I understand your need for income and if I see any need for more storage or other features you may be offering in your psid versions, I will most likely join at the level that sppesrs most sensible for the needs I have at that time. Even more than storage, I would most love to have VPN capability through the service you are now offereing. So please consider offering that for even the lowest level of psid service or barring that, offering VPN as a standalone paid service that is affordable for those of us who are loath to waste even $1 or €1 on services and features we know we will never use. I would even be willing to pay some small amount for the 10 folders total that I really want to have now. Having only 3 now is really annoying and that annoyance is the only thing about Proton that I really do not like. So thank you if you will add those few extra folders for those of us still using the free version of your wonderful service -

larger inbox and more folders for free users. Make protonmail BIG, the rest will follow. As you say security should be a human right. The patriot act and the snoopers charter makes a mockery of such....

I desperately need more than 3 folders! It's an unreasonable and arbitrary limit. Please expand this!

The platform is nice and the memory allocation generous, but only three folders for the free version is just mean!
I migrated from Fastmail-free, and they didnt appear to have any folder limit. Same on Gmail and others.
Im guessing that less unnessesary scrolling will also maximise ProtonMail resources generally. -

Gmail also shares your data and they don't give a f*** about your privacy.....

I would really like to be able to create more folders. It is something that I need to get more organized. We all have different things we are interested in and our mailbox should be able to reflect that. It is necessary so it doesn't get to messy.
Thanks! :-)
