Proton DNS as a Secure, Private alternative to 8.8.8.8 or ISP / CDS
Dear Proton Team,
I recently got deep into DNS and found out that most DNS Servers out there are not very private.
Therefore I'm proposing, could be an addition to Proton VPN, a Proton DNS Server.
Examples of competitors would be 8.8.8.8 (Google), 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), or 94.140.14.14 (Ad-Guard DNS, the only somewhat private I could find).
This could also be the opportunity to build a CDS Network as a competitor to Cloudflare.
I'm sure this isn't an small project but this could develop into a trustworthy, private alternative in Europe against Google and Cloudflare.

Searchable IOS calendar.
Simply put if I can’t search a calendar to find out when my last eye doctors appointment was or when my dad‘s next cardiologist appointment is, a calendar is useless to me.
I would rather use proton products than any others and I have been a long time paying supporter; but, until the iOS version becomes searchable I will continue pay to use a different calendar app also.40 votes -
Support Accrescent store
I know many people here seem to want Proton to also publish on F-Droid, but F-Droid (as was also pointed out here) has some serious problems (see https://privsec.dev/posts/android/f-droid-security-issues/).
To make both the people - like me - wanting to have access to Proton Apps not just via Play Store or GitHub happy, but also to keep high security standards, Accrescent would be an awesome solution.
It is a secure and private app store that doesn't need Google Play Services and aims to be developer-friendly.55 votes -
Free-standing contacts app for Android
I would really like to see a Free-standing Android contacts app which would allow contacts (WITH a PIN) to be displayed without opening the PM mail. I use my contacts to track all kinds of information other than email addresses and phone numbers. On my Android phone it is a pain to unlock and open the mail app, then scroll down to contacts to get some information (like an address). A free-standing app, similar to the calendar app, would solve this issue.

iOS Dark Mode Icons
Currently, app icons for Proton Mail, Proton Drive, and Proton Calendar do not support iOS 18's dark tinted icon effects, however Proton Pass and Proton VPN do.

All in one desktop app
I wish instead of having 5 different services all on different platforms, all being separate entities, I wish all of the Proton Services were on one menu and one program I can download. Having to open 3 tabs for Mail, Calendar, Drive, then open an Extension or another Tab for Pass, and then a separate program for the VPN is EXTREMELY F**CKING FRUSTRATING! It's so hard to navigate.
If all of this was on one program you can download to manage all of this - Life would be miles better.

A videocall app comparable to MS Teams
No email ecosystem can nowadays exist without a videocall app.
Having to rely to external apps means setting up a calendar, copying the url etc.It would be easier to have a Proton videocall app.

Proton Pass To Do Lists; Reminders
I think it would be excellent if you could expand Proton Pass to include reminders, in addition to the Notes functionality.
I would love to be able to create 'to do' lists - with tasks I can check off - within Proton Pass, benefiting from the security and cross-device synchronisation Proton Pass provides. If this included functionality to be able to specify deadlines (with associated notifications), that would be even better.

DRM enabled content to block Microsoft Recall on Windows
With Recall poised to allow screenshots of emails to be stored, can Protonmail desktop client offer DRM protection on the viewing window (as apparently Recall will honor that), and - though I don't know how this could be done - enforce DRM on messages sent from Protonmail to stop the recipient inadvertently capturing information
This should also apply to Instant Messages if Proton develop a chat appkication

Encrypted Phone Calls
Just looking for a great company to create a way so my phone calls from my current number are all encrypted. Keeping the federal government from wiretapping the line. But it needs to be a stand alone, so I can still use it, without the other person needing to also have the app.

Please add a spreadsheet app
A spreadsheet app with ability to collaborate with others on proton. Also have the option to either store a sheet locally (on device only) or on your proton account to be used across devices. Also, some kind of import system to bring existing sheets into proton sheets.

Improve Proton's Open source development
Proton has two great assets, the privacy respecting side and its Open source orientation.
However, some apps/services still aren't published openly (Calendar app for Android/iOS, amongst others).
So :
1. Make all apps and services open source
2. Activate issues on repositories
3. Invite community to actively participate in the development of the ecosystem
=> Proton apps become more reliable, with faster feature development and availability and it allows for greater transparency and sense of trust from the customers and community.71 votes -

To have a built in note / to do list , multi devices sync replacement for the likes of Google Keep would be hugely helpful .

Collaborative Whiteboard Application
A whiteboard application like openboard.ch would be a great addition to Proton. I currently have several disparate projects in which we are using whiteboarding within the teams but one of the primary drawbacks is that, openboard is a local application only - they provide no collaboration services (eg, team shares one whiteboard collectively as we work) there's one owner for the board and only one can interact with the board at once. Please begin a VoIP hosting service. If ProtonMail had VoIP that I could use both on my computer and phone, then I would no longer have any use for Google and I could be done once and for all. Even though GVoice is free, it seems their active listening suggests stuff related to my texts and conversations across my devices and it is creepy. Example, I’m only interested in Mail, VPN, & Pass and if this was a bundled option for unlimited I’d signup. Others might want something different.

I hope you are having a blessed day. Recently ran into a conversion issue for heic. I know a lot of customers use iphone's and based on the transfer of pictures it would be amazing if you added support to preview heic within your own amazing email product. This would save a lot of time (maybe even the ability to convert to jpeg when it notices a attachment).259 votes
