  1. Option to collapse sidebar (mutual exclusive)

    Proposal:
Make the sidebar of the web view manually collapsable.

    Details:
This proposal is only about the function collapsing sidebar itself. This proposal is not about how this feature would be implemented on the UI.

Note: The idea of collapsing is the same. However the author did also mention a concrete UI implementation in his idea, which might make voting difficult.

  2. Rethink customer support

Every time I submit a request for customer support, I get a response that misses the point, is vague and phrased in irritating corporate-speak. It seems to me that you are using some half-baked AI or some really stupid and/or over-managed people.

  3. Communication Channel Over Nostr

It would be amazing to have a Proton communication channel over Nostr.

Nostr is an open, simple protocol that allows decentralised, censorship-resistant communication.
It uses public key cryptography to establish a user's identity and to verify that a message has actually been sent by that user.
Data is stored and transmitted over many relays, and users can connect and publish to any number of them, making the data highly portable and the protocol resilient.
More information can be found at https://nostr.how or https://njump.me .

  4. Resizing photos when they're attached "in-line" in Proton Mail

It'd be nice to be able to attach a photo into Proton Mail as an "inline" attachment and then be able to resize it after attaching. This is a pretty basic function of inline attaching that is readily available in Gmail, Outlook, etc

  5. Update an info page from 2022

    This page...

was last updated 18 months ago and I think is...

    A. Now wrong ?

    B. No really helpful in the way it is worded.

The idea of such a page is to guide you from where you are (it does not mention this? e.g in the web interface) to where you want to be (it does not either give a useful link OR the "steps" you need to take (or what would be useful) a LINK.

In fact the way to the "Request a Feature" is found by clicking on you name top-right and looking down the…

  6. How can we improve Proton Pass?

The Proton applications offer a remarkable concept, but it's clear that this suite has a number of shortcomings that deserve to be highlighted.

Consistent design: It would be nice if each application had a consistent interface. For example, there are currently two different interface styles between the VPN solution and the mail, drive and pass solutions. Visual uniformity would reinforce the suite's identity and enhance the user experience.

More information: It would be beneficial to have more logs, information on all data, and monitoring possibilities. This would give users greater visibility and control over their information.

    Improved collaboration: More in-depth…

  8. Request Received and delivered notification

I send many emails and often time need to know that the email was received by the recipient and that they read the email. Is the a way to do so in Proton if not it would be a very useful addition to the platform.

  9. Collaborative, integrated, encrypted and open source office suite

Use an already existing open source frame (like Cryptpad, OnlyOffice or Collabora Office/LibreOffice Online) to create an integrated and collaborative encrypted office suite.

Make it Open source from the very beginning and allow for the community to actively help the development and improvement of the project. Allow and encourage upstream contribution to the office projects.

(There are already three other ideas about an office suite (1. Cryptpad, 2. Onlyoffice and 3. LibreOffice. Merge the ideas into this one ?)

  10. Improve Proton's Open source development

Proton has two great assets, the privacy respecting side and its Open source orientation.
However, some apps/services still aren't published openly (Calendar app for Android/iOS, amongst others).
    So :
    1. Make all apps and services open source
    2. Activate issues on repositories
    3. Invite community to actively participate in the development of the ecosystem
=> Proton apps become more reliable, with faster feature development and availability and it allows for greater transparency and sense of trust from the customers and community.

  11. Privacy focused git repository for open source Proton development

Replace Proton GitHub repositories with a more privacy focused alternative, like Codeberg or a Proton hosted Gitlab.
GitHub is less and less user and privacy-friendly, as they do not tolerate aliased addresses, like those from Proton/SimpleLogin (!).
Also, things like AI training clearly make a respecting git repository for the development of Proton apps even more attractive.

  12. Family light plan with low capacity kids accounts

    • To use their phones, kids have a gmail or apple email anyways.
    • Kids are not actually using email in any relevant volume today. They only need it for a very few important things but these are privacy relevant. The included volumes in family are completely excessive for an average kid's use case.
    • Proton Family is a big chunk of money for a typical family in absolute terms.

Suggesting a lighter family plan with 2 full accounts and 3-4 very light accounts (very limited storage, maybe not even allowing administration or settings etc - actual kids accounts) . At least until…

  13. Free vpn should offer free choice of country

Free VPN is much less attractive . I miss the option to choose a server myself either in my home country or somewhere else. The downgrade is a terrible idea.

  14. Finish existing apps

Please give priority to really finishing existing apps before developing anything new. Examples: in the new email app for Android only plain text is supported, no links. Also: reply to all doesn't work. Both things are essential for an email app. In the previous app it was available. Despite these shortcomings you launched it.
Similar thing happened with calendar. You launched it but the subject line is not mentioned in email notifications, which is essential for a Calendar.

Please, give priority to finishing existing apps with all essential features before launching them and start something new.

  15. Commit to remaining free of any and all AI tools

Proton, so far, has been a bastion of "the Internet we actually wanted". This is why it was so disheartening to see that the company is now seriously considering integrating GenAI into its suite of tools.

As the tide of big tech moves toward forcing AI tools into the face of every user, the existence of a platform that is explicitly not doing this is a breath of fresh air. There is no reason to "innovate for the sake of innovation". Let your competitors waste their time and energy being late to the party with the 80th, 90th, and 100th…

  16. vinilo adhesivo

  17. Search emails using Contact Group as filter option

It would be very useful if I can search emails by Contact Group. If I have a Contact Group for a specific organization and I want to see all emails I had with that organization.

    Example:
    - I have like 7 people in group A, we communicate only given part of the year. When I want to look up some information I don't necessarily remember who sent it, I just know it was one of them. Ideally I would use the search with contact group + From-To time.
    - I have a Family contact group, I want to list all…

  20. Collaborative Whiteboard Application

A whiteboard application like openboard.ch would be a great addition to Proton. I currently have several disparate projects in which we are using whiteboarding within the teams but one of the primary drawbacks is that, openboard is a local application only - they provide no collaboration services (eg, team shares one whiteboard collectively as we work) there's one owner for the board and only one can interact with the board at once. If Proton were to implement a service like openboard - adding the security of encryption to the feeds and data storage as well as new features like realtime…
