For me to shift I need most of the basic features of OneDrive - searching inside PDFs (and in a modern context searching for text in images) is a non-starter basic function that will have to be there for me to moce.

PS: this was one of the key reasons back in the day that I moved away from Google Docs...
If Proton wants to be serious about creating an alternative to Google and Microsoft - ie critically an environment that does not deliberately tie you in and respects user privacy and data ownership (which implies transferability) they should make the ability to store and work on Open Document Format a starting point....An error occurred while saving the comment

A key decision element for me to consider migration from MS Office is to move to a platform that natively supports an open document format - so that editing is feasible whether working natively in Proton web or on a document synchronised to a linux desktop using Open Office or using mobile.
The lessons from the last 18 months is that I never want to be tied into a Tech Bro environment again - which means my files are mine, and I am happy to rent space and functionality in a cloud environment...

As per the Spring/Summer Roadmap, this is being developed: https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-summer-2026
Folders will be a significant building block for Proton Pass that will go beyond just helping you organize your items. Introducing folders will require some rethinking of our cryptography model, which we’re currently working on. Eventually, you’ll also be able to share folders and subfolders just like your vaults and individual items, giving you another flexible way to share access.
Folders will be available in the coming months. As well as creating vaults, you’ll be able to create dedicated folders and subfolders to organize crucial information for quick retrieval: you can organize by project, by team, by year, or whatever else you need.

This is a no-starter for me....I won't migrate from Bitwarden without basic organisation like tags or labels (or even folders). Separate Vaults for everything is unnecessarily convoluted.

Google and Microsoft should have taught us that proprietary formats are a problem.
I will not move to an environment that does not natively let me edit files that are in a format compatible with multiple platforms - ie Open Document Format....
