    There should be a default set of styles for all documents - can even do across a workspace - that can be changed in settings

    Then each doc may allow the user to over-ride the house style with a custom one specifically for that doc.

    Basically what Gdocs does.

    One of these solutions would work well:

    Direct Paste Option: Add a "Paste Markdown" command that accepts raw Markdown syntax and renders it automatically

    Mode Toggle: Include a switch to toggle between Markdown (source) mode and Rendered (WYSIWYG) mode

    This would enable clean copy-paste workflows where users can move Markdown content into and out of PDocs without formatting loss or unwanted additions.
