Would prefer using Mastadon rather than reddit or twitter to stay in contact with proton.

Proton should stick more with digital privacy and avoid venturing into traditional financial services.

This would be good to do and wouldn't likely interfere with privacy based solutions.

Lauching a video hosting platform would be incredibly resource intensive. Proton should remain a privacy company first and foremost.

Mullvad already has this feature. It would be good to see in protonvpn as well.

Do not like the privacy implications of giving a chatbot permissions to operate your device.

This would be cool.
Mullvad and quad9 also do this but it is always good to have options.

This is the only reasonable suggestion that might involve LLMs.

Do not need or want LLMs. Proton should stick to its original goal of protecting user privacy online, not helping people generate unethical *********** with a chatbot.

I do not use LLMs at all and do not want them ingesting my data. Having a toggle to remove any chance of that happening seems like a good idea.

This is going to be critical when Google shoves out that update in September to try and prevent sideloading.

Training LLMs is predicated on sucking up as much data as possible. Because the established chatbots have already sucked up all of the literary content on the internet the only new source of data is the users directly.
This will inevitably create a problem for privacy as making the LLM better will necessitate the intake of more and more user data. If it comes to a point where Lumo must compromise user privacy in order to improve it, I would rather not have it at all.
LLMs make people dumber by outsourcing critical thinking skills. They use literal tons of drinking water and the assocated datacenters are often established in places that are water insecure.
The reshaping of the whole US economy to cater to LLMs have irreperablely damaged the consumer technology pipeline and ensured the pipeline of the newer IT people have a harder time finding work and be overall less experienced handling simple issues themselves as more and more of the workload is shoved off onto chatbots.
LLMs are an overvalued autocorrect feature that is nearly completely unregulated and have attributed to numerous deaths and instances of psychosis.
As they have some niche areas where they excel will definately stick around longterm, but willl probably not be at nearly the capacity they are now once the bubble pops.

I think proton should generally stick with digital privacy services that are not financial in nature.
Doing something like this would reqiure the company submit financial information to various authorities to stay in compliance with international laws. That could potientially compromise other privacy features on proton's platform.
For those people who need a truly private alternative, monero exists.
