  3. Accept Bitcoin on the Lightning Network!

The Lightning Network is in beta, but it allows for instant payments (no confirmations) and almost 0% fees, provided the user has a channel open. You already accept Bitcoin... and the Lightning Network is a major upgrade to way people will use BTC to make payments. If you do it soon, you will also get a P.R. boost, as it will inevitably be mentioned in the Bitcoin media.

  4. Implement DANE for added security and privacy

DANE (DNSSEC) would be hugely beneficial to the security and privacy of ProtonMail. DANE makes Man-in-the-Middle attacks practically impossible.

This is a necessary addition and should certainly be prioritized over-all, as it is at the core of what ProtonMail represents: privacy and security.

It's currently a feature available over at Tutanota (https://tutanota.com) and definitely sets it apart as an arguably more secure option, here's a great read on the topic: https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/dane-everywhere

  6. Bitcoin Cash Payment Option!

Bitcoin transactions fees are now too much, and it may take up to a few hours for a transaction to be confirmed. There's a payment system, which is nearly same of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash. Its devs have a better vision "low fees, 1 block (10 minutes) transaction confirm time." If you haven't heard of it, here (https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/58969/38618) you can see that many wallets support it.

    Kind regards.

  7. Would It is possible to know if the recipient open or read the mail?

Would It is possible to know if the recipient open or read the mail? as https://www.mailbutler.io/en/ or https://mailtrack.io/en/

    That would be great!
    Thanks

  9. Undo send

I would like to see an "Undo Send" feature, as found in Gmail. This is essentially a delay in sending, I guess, during which you can click an "Undo" link that appears in the bottom of the screen after you have hit "Send" on an email, for a varying amount of time that you can set (ex. 20 seconds). This gives you the chance to abort the send and tweak the message if, after hitting send, you realized you had forgotten something or you wanted to change the tone. It's something I find I use quite often for work.

  10. Protonmail App for Android is Very Slow

    Hello Protons,

I use Proton mail as my central and master repository for all email correspondence (paid-up). However I'm finding its slow performance in android is really killing my productivity and my frustration is at breaking point; now looking to find alternatives.

I understand that a full encrypted service such as protonmail may never achieve the same level of responsiveness as other apps like Gmail, however there is a limit at which no longer becomes usable.

I find the app to be excessively laggy, I wait for actions to respond, by which time I've moved on elsewhere in the app…

  11. Multi user too expensive

    1 user, 1 domain = 48€/year
    If you need 2 users, 1 domain = 150€/year
Why a so big price increase when you need 2 users ? Could you have an better offer, for example at 70€/year. Seems more logical.

    Best regards

  12. Protonmail app for Purism's Librem 5 smartphone.

In keeping with Protonmail's commitment to privacy and security I would like them to develop an app for Purism's upcoming Librem 5 smartphone. This would provide a genuine mobile alternative to Google and Apple.

  13. iOS app support multiple accounts

Either allow multiple accounts to be open simultaneously in the iOS app or add option to switch between accounts without having to formally log out and log in between each swap.

Despite allowing multiple aliases for a single account, if you have a personal account but also shared an account (eg with a spouse) aliases don’t suffice. The idea of forwarding every email from one account to another is archaic, lose for user and lose for proton mail because you’ll be storing the same message twice unnecessarily.

Multiple account support is a basic feature for email apps.

  14. *Unlimited* Disposable Email Aliases

Startmail explains it perfectly. They offer unlimited disposable aliases, which expire within a given amount of time. They also offer custom aliases which can be saved and used indefinitely.

It is the disposable alias which will help protect privacy, when submiting an email to an untrusted recipient. After all, how much privacy do we have if our fixed emails become the foundation for building and selling our marketing profiles, just as is done by gmail. We limit personal activity virtual trails by disposing of aliases for casual uses. But, unlike custom aliases, which build on our identifiable original email address,…

  16. make protonmail faster

    Search is slow
Deleting multiple (15+) emails is slow
    Emptying the trash is slow

This service is so slow that I'd rather just let the NSA read my email

  17. A Proper ProtonVPN Linux Client With GUI

I would love to see a proper ProtonVPN Linux Client with GUI that looks similar to the Windows version and with the same features. The current Linux client does not look good and it's too much and not plain and simple like with the Windows version. Is there anyone else that are not happy with the current client and want a better one?

  18. Improve addressing with extension character; allow hyphen (-); use correct sender address.

    1. Add the use of a hyphen (-) as the extension character, in addition to plus (+). Reasoning is below.

    2. When a message arrives for example-bob@protonmail.com, replies sent by the recipient should automatically show example-bob@protonmail.com as both the header sender and the envelope sender. The reason should be obvious.

Why hyphen (-) in addition to plus (+). The use of plus (+) tells people that you are using an extension, while the use of hyphen (-) makes the address look like an ordinary address.

Many buggy websites reject email addresses that contain a plus.

    For additional reasoning see…

  20. Snooze emails and reminders to temporarily remove them from your inbox until you need them.

Snooze emails and reminders to temporarily remove them from your inbox until you need them.

Your email or reminder will come back to the top of your inbox when you want it to, whether that's tomorrow, or next week. You can always see your snoozed items under Snoozed in the Menu

See how it works in gmail:
