  2. Email Signature for New Mail but not in Replies

It would be great to have the option to have email signatures in newly composed emails, but turn them OFF in replies.

  3. Clear Proton Mail Android notification, if that new email was read on desktop or another device

So if I receive a new email, my phone notifies me, and notification stays until I open Proton Mail on my Android phone and read the email. However, if I am at home by my computer, I get a new email, my phone notifies me, but I read that email on my PC instead without touching my phone. The notification of that email stays on my phone screen until I unlock the phone and clear it.
Gmail app would clear the notification of the new email, if that email was (marked) read through PC or other device.
    Why this is…

  4. Change the delete swipe in Mail back to a simple left swipe

The new version of the Mail app now requires a rather long single left swipe or a short left swipe plus a tap to delete a mail. This is really inconvenient and slows down email reviews/processing. For better or for worse, deleting is what we do most. This function should be as simple as possible - just a single short left swipe, just like it was previously. Please change it back.

  5. Implement push IMAP (instant email notification)

The fetch way of retrieving emails is ancient compared to modern communication methods alternatives. Google, Yahoo! and others are using their own protocol but Push IMAP exists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Push-IMAP).

Imagine you are a new user switching from Google to Proton, you are used to instant notifications on emails arrivals, useful for magic codes for example, it’s a huge downgrade coming to Proton Mail.

  6. Better UX for iPadOS Proton Mail app (split‑view layout)

Proton Mail’s iPadOS app should adopt an adaptive split‑view layout that takes advantage of the device’s wider screen: a fixed‑width left column for folders and the message list, a flexible central pane that previews the selected email, and an optional right pane for contextual content such as thread history or attachment previews. This layout mirrors the familiar two‑column designs of Apple Mail and Outlook, reduces vertical scrolling.

By implementing responsive spacing, larger typography, and split‑view states, the app will feel more native on iPad (currently it just feels like using a big iPhone app on the iPad screen, improve workflow…

  7. Show full folder path in “Move message to…” search results

    Problem:
When I move an email and type into Move message to…, results only show the leaf folder name. I have parallel structures for different children, e.g.

    Children/KidOne/SchoolOne

    Children/KidTwo/SchoolOne
Both show up as “SchoolOne”, so I can’t tell which is which.

    Request:
Display the full folder path (or at least parent folders) in the move dialog’s search results—for example:

    Children / KidOne / SchoolOne

    Children / KidTwo / SchoolOne

    Nice-to-haves:

Show the full path as a secondary line or breadcrumb.

Tooltip with the complete path on hover.

Keyboard navigation should read the full path for accessibility.

    Option to toggle “Show…

  8. Mail desktop app unable to connect

I installed the desktop app on a Windows 10 (workstation), but it is unable to connect.
I gave all necessary green lights on the firewall (don't use antivirus). All proton exes have TCP/UDP outbund permission. All other internet apps are working fine. But Protonmail Desktop doesn't.
Only a blank screen saying "cannot establish connection".
    What am I missing ?

  9. Ability to disable login capability for added additional addresses

The fact that I can have more than one address tied to one Proton account is genius, I use it a lot, but here's the thing: I want to disable login capability for some of those addresses.

Like most, I have an account that has a lot of my personal information (Pass, Mail, Drive...), and I also have additional email addresses set up for various purposes. The primary email I use to log into my account is kept private and is not shared, while I use other addresses (such as variations of my full name) when necessary (banks, financial institutions,…

  11. Add filter condition 'Inbox' or otherwise fix filtering when using a hide-my-email alias

In Proton Pass I am using a hide-my-email alias, e.g. 'shop.alias123@passmail.net', which forwards mails to one of my Proton Mail inboxes / email address aliases, e.g. 'my.shopping@proton.me'.

As a result, the mail header looks like this:

    From 'noreply@shop.com'
    To 'shop.alias123@passmail.net'

Now, I would like to set up a filter which moves all mails received via 'my.shopping@proton.me' to a folder 'Shopping'.

However, as neither the sender ('From') nor the recipient ('To') contains said inbox address, this is not possible. My only option is to include all the hide-my-email aliases in the…

  12. See via which inbox a mail was received when it was forwarded by an alias

    Consider the following:

    In Proton Mail I have two mail addresses -- 'firstname.lastname@proton.me' & 'online.shopping@proton.me'

In Proton Pass I am using a hide-my-email alias 'shop.alias123@passmail.net' which forwards mails to the latter inbox.

Currently, in Proton Mail the mail header looks like this:

    From 'noreply@shop.com'
    To 'shop.alias123@passmail.net'

    Suggested change:

    From 'noreply@shop.com'
    Via 'shop.alias123@passmail.net'
    To 'online.shopping@proton.me'

  14. Limited View for Share with Proton users calendar sharing

When using the "Share with Proton users" aspect of shared calendars you cannot choose limited view, only full details or edit permissions. Currently Limited view is only available if you use the Share with anyone and create a link. This seems like an easy change, I want to be able to share my calendar without a link (that could be leaked), but also not have to burden the one person I wish to share it with with the curse of knowledge (the minutiae of my every movement.)

  15. PIN & Biometric Protection for ALL Apps

It would be really great to be able to enable a PIN and biometric login protection for ALL proton apps. Specifically, the MacOS Proton Mail app should be able to be guarded with a PIN/Touch ID, the Lumo IOS app should have a PIN/FaceID, etc... All of these apps give direct access not only to sensitive information (emails, chats, etc.), but also to your Proton account settings.

  17. Scribe assistant for mobile

I had an idea that Proton Mail could bring ProtonScribe into the iOS app as well. Ideally, it could even run natively on the newest Apple devices to take advantage of their performance. For users with relatively new and powerful hardware, there could be an option to enable this feature locally, so the assistant runs on-device rather than relying only on cloud processing. At the same time, older or less powerful devices could continue using Proton’s secure servers, just like the Windows app does, ensuring accessibility for everyone.

  18. Clickable "Green checkmark" option for completed emails.

Please implement a clickable green checkmark option (or something similar) for completed emails. Ideally this checkbox status would display for all emails and would appear next to the mini-icons (trash, archive, move, etc). Many of us never delete emails and simply archive them. However, when we use the "All Mail" folder, it would be helpful if we could have an option to select a checkmark to know that we have completed that particular email or thread as it would help visually with quickly identifying which emails require attention and which have already been dealt with. (Similar to Outlook's checkmark option)…

  19. Block sender without opening the email

Opening suspicious messages shouldn't be necessary to block the sender, hate doing that.

A 'block sender' button at the top would be great next to 'move to spam' and 'delete'.

  20. Alert for new mail in Win desktop app.

Still no audio alert or popup for Win desktop app.
Push notification are useless for a secure computer. It is NOT a cell phone, thus 10 times more secure.
