Option to disable links on inbound emails
It would be awesome to have a switch that disables clickable links on inbound emails. It would require the user to highlight / right click and copy.
To me this is the most effective form of phishing prevention, just disabling links entirely. Another option would be to open the link confirmation dialog like it currently does, but make the user copy it manually.
It would be nice for business/family accounts to also set the policy at the org level.

Guest Mode for proton VPN
I am using the proton-vpn-gtk-app for Linux and think we should have the guest mode feature like the Android/iOS protonVPN app does so we don't have to login when using the free version

Google Play emails remain broken light in dark mode on Android
When Proton Mail for Android uses the dark theme with dark styling enabled for email content, emails from Google Play remain displayed with a light background. Google Play is a popular service, and these emails appear simple enough to convert to a dark style, as common dark-mode scripts and browser extensions can already handle them correctly.
Steps to reproduce
- Enable the dark theme in Proton Mail for Android.
- Enable dark styling for email content.
- Open an email from Google Play.

Proton Calendar does not look nice on Iphones and Ipads.
Please visually enhance it. It should also should todays date on the app when looking at it on the home screen. Todays date in the calendar should look more obvious when in dark mode. Should have custom options to make the calendar look how you want it to look.

Time zone switch should include switching it for events
When I change the time zone it shouldn't change my event times based on how many hours just changed on my phone, if I have an event at 2pm, it's still going to be at 2pm but once I switch time zones I have to manually switch each event to that time zone and time as well or it's the wrong time. There should be a choice to make all events change time zones when the calendar does so events stay at the correct times

Allow All Mail to be managed through the Bridge.
First let me say I love protonmail and thank you for providing the bridge. I've recently started a business and the bridge allows me to manage all my various email addresses in one place.
ChatGPT told me that managing "All Mail" through Thunderbird/Bridge was purposely not allowed.
Could this be revisited? I need to hop between two interfaces to keep protonmail cleaned up.

On August 2025 the IETF published RFC 9788.
This is a standard suggesting a way of encrypting metadata of e-mails like the subject.This provides a mechanism of improving privacy while keeping compatibility with PGP.

Better navigation in Mail
It is cumbersome to navigate back through older emails. You can only click on the page numbers at the bottom, and this does not allow you to go very far back.
There is a need for greater flexibility here, for example by having the pages load automatically as you scroll down through your emails, and by allowing users to enter the specific page number they want to go to.

No clickable attachments in overview (IOS)
Currently in the IOS app, the Inbox overview lists emails with their attachments. It is all to easy to accidentally click the attachment instead of the mail itself, thereby opening the attachment.
I think this is a security hazard.

I need the option to be able to read and archive and email at once when I’m swiping left. This is the only thing that is holding me back on buying an annual subscription.

Keyboard Shortcuts + Improving "Add Event"
The current shortcut cheat sheet is fine. Please do include the ability to have other actions be triggered by a keyboard shortcut too such as "snooze" or have the ability for the user to customize the keyboard shortcuts to their preference for each action or an action that is not given a default shortcut.
Also the mail app should detect events in the inbox better so that hovering over the date and time should just create that event or at least allowing the user to highlight it and right click it to create the event. Right now, can only manually…

Mid-point between Mail Plus and Unlimited
There really needs to be something between Mail Plus and Unlimited, especially seeing as you can't upgrade from Mail Plus to Drive Plus.
The jump from Mail Plus to Unlimited is too high in price and not everyone needs 500GB of storage, but 15GB is too limiting.
There needs to be something comparable for Mail to Drive Plus with 100 to 200GB storage.

Unable to add additional people or forward a meeting notice.
Need to be able to add additional people to a received meeting notice, or forward it to others. Currently when I receive a meeting notice from someone, I cannot add any other participants or forward it to others so that it creates a meeting notice for the new person. This is extremely annoying.

Add the ability to write rules based on message body content
As far as I know, every other mail client lets you create rules based on if the message body contains certain words. I notice things getting through my spam filters because of new domains, or shared domains, and that's bad. There are certain words that are always going to be considered spam to people, so it doesn't matter where they come from. Even if you think it's not a great way to create a rule, I think you should give us the option, especially since your refuse to let us quickly add to existing filters. As an example, I get…

Notification when mail arrives and is moved to a folder
At present I have to check folders to see if a mail item has arrived there.
It should be possible to see a notification, within the browser app, that mail has arrived and been moved straight to a nominated folder.

When creating a group in PM, allow existing group to be added
When creating a group, it would be useful to be able to insert an existing group as an address.
An example use case would be to have a 'core' group and a 'full distribution' group
