1. mail mailgroups reply all

   When replying to an email received from a mailing list, like googlegroups, I don't want to receive that emailt twice. Neither if I send with reply all option nor somebody answers to the list with reply all option.

2. Request for support for Apple and Microsoft in Easy Switch.

   In the past I used email accounts from both Apple and Microsoft with a number of companies, and at the moment it is difficult for me to continue using Proton Mail. The only one currently supported is Gmail, and that is not sufficient. Proton Mail ought to support all the major email providers.

3. The mail header should take less space (Desktop/Web)

   The current mail header in Desktop/Web app wastes a lot of space. For most desktops PC the screen is pretty large and so the current mail header has a lot empty space.

   At the same time the headers takes a lot of screen high. Especially with labels and info messages like mailing list or tracking protection on it.

   With a 27" display often the message content dosnt start below 1/3 of the screen. Witch is prrety bad since the content usually is the important part of a mail.

   In gmail in comparsion the mail header is ofthen half of the since compared to Proton Mail.

   Please make the mail header more compact so the content has more space.

4. "Mailing list header" should not waste that much space

   The "This message is from a mailing list. - Unsubscribe" currently takes up a lot of screen space!

   While I like the option to easily unsubscribe, its not a task that I do often. So that feature should not take that much space.

   Also the message "This message is from a mailing list" is not very helpflul since its already clear that this is the case for most mails.

   The mail header currently has a lot of empty space (on large screen). Please change that feature so it stays aside and did not make the header larger.

5. Allow to pin or always display a label/folder

   I have a hand full of labels that I use every day. So I currently need to keep the labels list open while I dont need moste of them. That's very distracting and makes the UI confusing.

   Please add an option to always show a label even when the Labels are closed. This makes sens for Folders to.

   Gmail also have this option.

   After importing from Gmail, I have 3000+ unread emails. The only way to mark
   them as read is to go through 60+ pages of pagination (50 emails/page), which
   is impractical.

   Feature Request:
   - Add a "Mark all emails in folder/mailbox as read" button in the web UI
   - Allow bulk operations via IMAP/API for programmatic access
   - Consider applying this to all categories, not just folders -> This is very important, as my inbox is now a jumble of everything I had in the right gmail categories, quite annoying!

   - Critical for users migrating from other email providers

9. Calendar colours are inscrutable.

   It's even more difficult for me because I'm colour blind. This feature request would provide colours for people with CVD that are readily distinguishable with common colour names. CVD-friendly palettes and reference material are available. c.f. https://sashamaps.net/resources/20-colors/

   What colour, really, is "Fern" or "Olive" or "Pickle" and how do they differ? Do I describe it to a friend as "green" or "yellow" or "brown" or WHAT? FWIW - Plum, Enzian, and Cobalt look identical; Slateblue, Purple, Pink are the same; Cerise = Soil; Carrot, Forest, Pickle identical; Pine = Saraha; Reef is unique. Out of 20 colours, only five are usable for me, and there is no way I"m going to be able to tell a friend "It's the carrot-coloured calendar."

10. Accept Simplelogin reverse alias when creating a group

    When creating a group, you cannot use a reverse alias copied from Simplelogin. You need to start typing the address then pick the suggestion you think might be right (contacts may contain >1 entry per individual if they have multiple reverse aliases)

11. split recurring event generates Google-style _R UID with wrong timestamp (local time, one month early) instead of a fresh UUID

    Summary

    When a recurring event is split in Proton Calendar (editing or deleting "this and following events"), the new series is written with a UID of the form <base-id>_R<timestamp>@domain instead of a fresh UUID. Two problems with this:

    1. The _R<timestamp> convention is Google Calendar's private internal ID scheme for split recurring series. It is not part of RFC 5545, where UIDs are opaque identifiers and relationships between instances are expressed through RECURRENCE-ID, never by parsing substrings out of an ID.
    2. The timestamp Proton writes into it is incorrect. Google's format uses the UTC start of the split. Proton writes a value one month earlier than the actual series start, in local time rather than UTC.

    Examples

    Every _R UID in my file is wrong the same way, 28 of them across 16 series. The third example matters: this affects events created natively in Proton, not only calendars imported from Google. Events in my file that were split years ago while still in Google carry correct UTC timestamps, so the incorrect values were introduced by Proton.

    Impact

    Google Calendar subscribed to a Proton share link appears to read <base>_R<timestamp> as its own split-series format and reconcile all siblings sharing a base ID into a single recurring family. Because the split timestamps are wrong, the boundaries between links in the chain do not line up, and Google renders an older link instead of the current one.

    In my case two weekly series had their end times silently changed, showing 20:00 and 17:00 where the file says 16:30. After I capped the affected series and created replacements, Google displayed both the correct new event and the ghost from the old chain, stacked on the same day.

    This was hard to diagnose because the .ics itself is well formed. Distinct UIDs, correct RRULEs, correct DTENDs. Proton's own client renders it correctly, and so did every standard parser I tested it against. Only the UID is anomalous, and it is the one field nobody thinks to check.

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Create a weekly recurring event in Proton Calendar.
    2. Open a later instance and choose "this and following events", change the end time, save.
    3. Export the calendar as .ics and inspect the UID of the new series.

    Expected: a fresh UUID, as Proton already generates for newly created events.
    Actual: <base-id>_R<timestamp>@proton.me with a timestamp one month early and in local time.

    Suggested fix

    Mint a fresh RFC 5545 UID when splitting a recurring series, matching what Proton already does everywhere else. Imitating another vendor's undocumented internal ID namespace has no upside for interoperability and creates exactly this class of failure with downstream consumers. If a derived identifier is needed for internal linkage, keep it in an X- property rather than in UID, and at minimum correct the timestamp to UTC and to the actual split point.

    Workaround for anyone hitting this

    Do not use "this and following events" on any calendar that an external client subscribes to. End the series instead, then create a brand new event going forward, which gets a clean UUID.

    Happy to supply a sanitized .ics demonstrating the pattern if that helps.

12. Disable Login for Secondary Email Addresses

    I would like to suggest a security feature for Proton accounts: the ability to disable login for secondary email addresses.

    Currently, additional Proton addresses associated with the same account can also be used to sign in. It would be useful to have an option for each secondary address such as:

    “Allow this address to be used for login: On / Off”

    This would allow users to keep their primary Proton address private and use secondary addresses publicly for email communication without increasing the number of identifiers that can be used to access the account.

    The secondary address should continue to work normally for sending and receiving emails, but it should not be accepted as a login identifier when this option is disabled.

    This would improve account security by reducing the attack surface, especially for users who want to keep their main login address confidential.

    Ideally, this setting could be managed individually for each Proton address under Identity and Addresses.

13. Proton Scribe should be included in the Proton Unlimited plan

    It's not really an "Unlimited" plan if a feature is left out. Why is Scribe included in the Duo and Family plans, but not Unlimited? I don't need a plan for more than one person, and I don't need any more storage space, so having to upgrade to a multi-person plan as an individual is an expensive option just to get this one feature (the only feature lacking on the Unlimited plan).

14. Calendar as a default state for desktop app?

    Hi! Is there an option to launch the desktop app with the calendar as the default state? It's annoying to constantly switch the app when I just want to take a look at my daily schedule... Or maybe two shortcuts for launching the app in two different states are the solution!

15. Bug: Cannot remove labels across multiple pages of results

    When selecting multiple pages of results, I cannot remove a label from all of them.

    I have three labels, A and B, C.

    I have 2000 emails, some tagged 'A', some 'B', some 'C', some a mix of all three.

    I want to make sure that any labels tagged as 'A' are not also tagged 'C'.

    I go to the page for 'A' and click 'Select all', the first 50 emails are selected.

    I click the labels button.

    A, B, and C are all marked as - in the tri-state checkbox.

    I click 'C' twice to unselect the checkbox and apply - 50 emails are now still marked as A, maybe still marked as B, and NOT marked as C

    This works as expected. If however after clicking 'Select all' I then click the button to select ALL matching emails labelled A, not just the first 50, the tri-state checkbox will not let me deselect - I click once to tick, then when I click again it goes back to -.

    This means that if I want to remove a label from multiple pages, I have to do it page by page.

    It would be good if the tri-state selector worked the same way across multiple pages as it does for single pages.

16. Search text shifts when clicking into the search field, causing incorrect caret placement

    After performing a search in Proton Mail, the search field displays a magnifying-glass icon before the search query.

    If I then want to slightly modify the query — for example, change one character in robert — I click at a specific position inside the text to place the caret there or start selecting a character with the mouse.

    However, as soon as the search field receives focus, the magnifying-glass icon disappears and the entire query shifts to the left.

    As a result, the text moves underneath the mouse pointer during the click, so the caret is placed in a different position than the one I clicked.

    For example:
    1. Search for robert and press Enter.
    2. The results appear and the search field shows a magnifying-glass icon before robert.
    3. Click just before the letter o, intending to place the caret there or select that character.
    4. The icon disappears and robert shifts to the left.
    5. The caret ends up somewhere else in the word instead of at the clicked position.

    This makes even very small edits to an existing search query unnecessarily frustrating, especially when trying to select a single character by clicking and dragging.

    Expected behavior:
    Focusing the search field should not change the horizontal position of the existing query. Clicking at a specific character position should always place the caret exactly where the user clicked.

    Possible solutions would be to keep the magnifying-glass icon visible while editing, reserve the same amount of space for it after focus, or otherwise prevent the text from shifting when the field changes state. Alternatively, if the icon is intended to indicate that the field represents an active search whose results are displayed below, it could be shown on the right side of the search field instead, so that its appearance or disappearance does not affect the position of the query text.

    This violates the basic expectation that text should remain stationary while the user is positioning the caret with the mouse.

17. Make whole day bookings available on the booking pages not only hours

    it would be very beneficial if it were possible to book whole days instead of 30min slots. This would allow me to use it for a booking calendar for many things like tours or chalets or something like that

18. Show categories above folders

    It would be nice to show the categories above the folders on the left side panel.

    I use categories much more often than folders and right now I have to scroll through all the folders before I can choose a category for an email.

    A bit more rearranging flexibility would be welcome.

    Or, come to think of it: if I choose "pit mail into category" don't show folders at all and vice versa.

20. calendar show location

    Currently events only show the title in the web calendar. It would be great if they also showed the location. I have taken to adding locations to the event title but that is wonky since there is a location field.
