  1. Account-Based Calendar Integration on macOS (No Public Links)

    ////////////// Summary //////////////

Add native macOS calendar integration using real Proton account authentication, not public/shared calendar links. If possible also add editing rights.

    ////////////// Description //////////////

Currently, adding Proton calendars to macOS requires using public calendar links. This approach has significant limitations and does not meet the expectations for a secure, professional, or privacy-focused calendar integration.
    Public links:
    - Expose calendar data via static URLs
    - Cannot reflect user permissions properly
    - Are unsuitable for private, work, or shared calendars
    - Do not align with Proton’s security and privacy model

  2. Enhanced filter and newsletter management

Someone already suggested dynamic filter creations and it's an amazing idea. I want to expand it and suggest something similar for newsletters.
The pop-up saying "This message is from a mailing list should include 3 actions, and after one is selected, the pop-up should never appear again for that newsletter:
    - Accept
    - Unsubscribe
    - Filter (this prompts the user to select what to do with these emails like in the filter creation flow and automatically creates a filter for the newsletter)

  3. Mail and Calendar view both simultaneously. /ProtonMail-desktop.deb

Find it inefficient to constantly switch between Mail and Calendar within the same window when need to view both simultaneously.
ie. you can't have distinct, separate windows for Mail and Calendar open at once. I guess its not suited to multi monitor setup ATM.

Its great though so keep it up:)

  4. Ability to edit the URL of a previously added other calendars

Ability to edit the URL of a previously added other (public, external, shared) calendars. Currently, to make a change I have to add it as a new calendar, delete the old calendar, manually set calendar name, color, and notification settings. The URL is the only setting that's not editable

  5. Modernize/expand the email editor

The email editor should have more formatting functions.

    • Markdown as input transform to HTML mail with preview function. (This would cover pretty much everything you could need.)

    • Create and manage tables

    • More editor functionalities (links from Drive)

    • Add meetings

    • Indentation levels (increase/decrease indentation)

The current editor feels like Notepad from Windows 95.

  6. Easily move recurring events (including birthdays) between calendars

Currently, managing recurring events, such as annual birthdays or weekly meetings, requires a complex process of recreation if the user wishes to change which calendar they belong to (e.g., moving an event from a 'Personal' calendar to a 'Family' or 'Work' calendar).

Please implement a simple 'move to' function for recurring events that transfers the entire series to the new calendar. This would streamline organization and data management within the Proton ecosystem, improving the user experience significantly."

  8. Invite user to single instance of recurring event

I have a recuring event, but I would like to invite a user to a single instance of this event, and would like a way to do that without duplicating the event, deleting the single instance of the previous event, and then adding the user to the new event. If this process could be automated, where when inviting a user, a confirmation appears asking to invite them to a single event or the whole series, and in the background Proton Calendar duplicates the single occurrence, deletes the old one, and invites the user to the new one so it becomes…

  9. Native "Free/Busy" Website Embed (Bypassing Google)

    Dear Proton Team,

I am a dedicated Proton user relying on your services for privacy. However, I am facing a major hurdle in using Proton Calendar for my business workflow.

The Problem: I need to display my availability to clients on my website (e.g., Wix, WordPress). Currently, there is no native way to do this. The only workaround is sharing an ICS link to Google Calendar and embedding that. This fails for two reasons:

Sync Latency: Google updates subscribed calendars very slowly (up to 24 hours delay), leading to double bookings.

Permission Conflicts: Google treats subscribed Proton calendars as "read-only"…

  10. Move calendar events

I know this is an option on the web version but on the IOS/mobile apps we NEED to be able to drag and drop events without having to open them and reselect the date or time. This is a critical feature for any functioning calendar app in my opinion.

  11. Better Widget

The existing widget provides an overview of the current day’s events, but ignores event duration. A widget that displays the day exactly like in the actual calendar (with different event lengths and gaps) is missing. In that regard, you would even be ahead of Google.

  12. Option to select initial mailbox / folder on Mail app open

On both Windows and Android apps, opening Proton Mail with always go to Inbox as the initial view.

I have setup rules to move incoming messages to various folders so my inbox is not useful to me (it's just mail not yet included in a rule).

Please provide an option to select which folder to open mail into. At minimum this could be a choice between 'INBOX' or 'ALL MAIL' which is what I have to switch to EVERY time I open mail.

    Thanks!

  13. Create a PIN-code for the application in Windows!

Be sure to create a PIN-code for the application in Windows! Otherwise, what's the point of all your privacy? If anyone can walk into a computer's workstation when a user is gone and gain full access to their email proton !

  14. Preview Excel files in Proton Mail Desktop

Excel attachments must be downloaded to be viewed in Proton Mail Desktop. It appears as though Word attachments can be previewed, so it would be very useful to have this functionality also.

  16. Seamless labelling with hotkeys

Make enter apply the label that is highlighted.

A feature from Gmail that I love is that it's super simple to apply labels with keyboard shortcuts; open label dialog, search for a label and press enter. Job done.

Unless I'm doing it wrong, in Proton Mail on web I have to press "L" to get the labels, search for a label and then use tab key + enter or the mouse pointer to actually apply the label. Instead I want the enter key to apply the highlighted label right away after search (while the search input still has focus) for…

  17. Password protect Proton Mail for Linux

    Beta 1.10.1 (5.0.87.5)

Ability to protect the Proton Mail for Linux client with a password like it is for Proton Authenticator.

I don't mention Proton Pass because the extra password there is synced between devices as a second authentication factor, while Proton Authenticator on linux has the option to setup an optional local password to lock the app without affecting other devices.

  18. Calendar Integration with Other Applications

I use a 3rd-Party Calendar widget on my Windows desktop computer: Rainlendar. It integrates with Google and many other calendar systems to allow me to not only view, but add and edit events on my desktop that then synchronize automatically with the external service to show elsewhere (other computers, tablets, phones). I desperately want to switch away from Google to Proton's calendar service, but without this kind of integration and automation, I cannot.

I also have a website that needs to, in the very least, view the free/busy state of one of my calendars for public access. At this time,…

  20. Let user choose default calender notification settings

I would like to be able to set the default notifications that are automatically set up when adding an event to a calendar. It's really annoying and time consuming to have to manually change it every time to my own preferences.
