Automatic merge of a free Proton account into a paid one (recover old @proton.me address)
Dear Proton Team,
I just upgraded to Proton Unlimited and, like many long-time users, my main address is still stuck on an old free account.
The current manual process (support → delete free account → manually re-add the address) is painful and causes permanent data loss.
Please add a long-requested feature:
Self-service merge of a free Proton account into an existing paid account
Desired flow:In the paid account → Settings → Identities & addresses → “Import old Proton address”
Secure authentication on the free account (password + 2FA)

Search by frequency in Proton Calendar
This would be a handy feature for me right now. I have certain yearly bills that I manually pay each year and I have reminders in Calendar so that I don't forget them. Currently, though, I want to make a spreadhseet/note of sorts that show me everything that I need to pay yearly.
However, it appears I cannot search by frequency (in this case, search by yearly events) in Calendar. Any plans for this?

One‑tap prefilled event templates
Proton Calendar should allow users to save prefilled event templates and apply them with a single tap or click. Each template could store details like title, color, calendar, default start time or all-day setting, reminders, busy/free status, recurrence, location, and notes.
This would make it possible to instantly add common events (like “Workday,” “Day Off,” “Study Session,” etc.) without re-entering the same information over and over again.
It fits perfectly with Proton’s privacy-first model, since templates are just metadata that can be stored end-to-end encrypted.

Event preset suggestions
When adding a new event, it would save a lot of time if the event settings view could recognize and suggest presets added earlier.
This is a feature in the Samsung Calendars app, and it used to save me a lot of time when planning reoccurring but non-consistently spaced events, such as when the event 'dinner with mom' always occur at the same time a day, with the same reminders etc, but with an inconsistent spacing in days as, ruling out the reoccurring event option, as it is often the case when an event date has to be optimized…

sunrise and sunset times
For people who start the day early (runners, photographers etc), it would be really useful to have the option to display sunrise/sunset times for your local area. Planning out hikes/runs etc would be so much easier.

Better UI for Calendar
I moved to Proton Calendar a month ago, from Outlook and Google Calendar. I am frustrated with the user interface, and feel it adds to much "friction" to daily task like creating or moving events. It is the same both on Android and Windows. Do you have plans for improving UI, or providing integration with external calendar clients?

"Show busy times" for mobile
Add 'show busy times' when planning an appoinment with others on the mobile app.
Appointments are often planned on the go when one is not at the computer.
Therefore, it is essential that the Proton Calendar app shows me the 'busy times' of other people when I am planning an appointment with them, so that the appointment can be scheduled appropriately.
Otherwise, the mobile app is useless for creating appointments with others.

Overhaul of folders and unread email identification
I know there are similar requests in this vain, but I wanted to consolidate ways to deal with the "problem" here.
With the emphasis on aliases and the use of SimpleLogin (or similar) within Proton Mail ("PM"), for those of us that are (to a fault) uber-organized, the sidebar has become a huge list of folders to help manage all the emails from all the aliases. Filters place emails directly into the appropriate folders to be dealt with. In an overkill of organization, subfolders are used as well.
Example: a master folder might be "Travel" and general travel-related emails end…

Year/Multi -Month View with Toggle-able Events
Allow for longer planning views up to a year on one page. One year would be pretty small on most screens, but not all. 4 months in two columns of two would be usable on most laptop screens though.
Then if you allow events to be toggled on and off, this would aid in scheduling out long term. For instance, if you had, say 12 possible events/conferences/schools/etc you could attend in a year, many of which had multiple iterations, you could more easily visualize how to tetris a schedule out of your options.

Provide a better way to manage events in the evening
I often find myself planning events in the evening, which I usually set to end at midnight. There are 2 pain points in this process. First, to set it properly at midnight I need to also change the date. So I end up with more actions to take. The second is that changing the start time back, moves the end time to the next day. And I frequently set an initial early time before the actual time is confirmed. Overall this means I have to use double the actions to set evening events.

Contacts
I want so much to move to Proton Mail and the Proton environment -- but the one thing that continues to stop me from doing so is the way Proton deals with contacts. I simply do not understand why a user can't choose to sort contacts by either first or last name or organization. I don;t understand why groups are limited to 100 contacts.
