How can we improve Proton Drive?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  2. Make documents and spreadsheets available in real time

    Collaborating in real-time and being able to share and access the most up to date version of the document regardless of who edited has become standard operating procedure for many. One of the many things we take for granted until we don't have it. Is this or something for team sharing and documenting editing in the works?

  3. Access desktop sync files on mobile app

    I can choose to sync any folders on my Windows PC, but they don't appear anywhere in the mobile app (Android).

  4. OnlyOffiice partnership

    To disconnect from Google completely, a competent privacy oriented office suite is required. Don't rebuild the wheel, partner with Onlyoffice please. PLEASE.

    I mean that the program allows you to do that in at least 2 accounts (ideally in more accounts) But to start with 2 would be fine. The fact of being able to work, for example: with the files from your home account and your work account at the same time.     For videos uploaded to Drive, please include a thumbnail image from that video to uniquely identify each video, instead of only manually adding a title to each video.

  9. Streamlining File Management: Automatic Deletion of Recycle Bin Contents

    I suggest implementing an automatic deletion feature for the recycle bin (or trash folder) contents, where deleted files are permanently removed after a specified time period. This would eliminate the need for manual emptying of the trash folder, adding a convenient touch to file management. While not a critical issue, this enhancement could significantly improve user experience.

  10. Markdown support

    We all need the key feature, which is Docs and Sheets support, but in the meantime would be also nice to deliver markdown support to be able to create it directly in the drive and export it to PDF for example. I guess that most of cases people need to create some kind of statements or easy documents and export them, and it could be done just with markdown integration as we can see with HackMD or Obsidian and other. From my point of view, it's a trade-off between developer complexity and user usability.

  14. Option to ignore sync issues in specific folders

    ProtonDrive displays a bunch of sync issues for file locks which may be unessential to sync immediately. This presents a problem for when actual sync issues show up which may go unnoticed. There should be an option to disable sync issues for specific folders, as well as a section to display "ignored" sync issues.

    In my case, I have ProtonDrive to sync my Thunderbird profiles. Thunderbird constantly uses these files, so there is a file lock on many of them and ProtonDrive is unable to sync. This is expected functionality however, and the files will sync once Thunderbird is closed.…

  15. Limit Sync Bandwidth

    Thank you for honoring Visionary subscribers with the extra capacity of Proton Drive. Please consider adding a setting that would limit the bandwidth during sync operations. The transfer speed is consuming all available bandwidth and it is difficult to do anything else when the sync process is running.

  18. Something like Google Keep

    Since most of us are trying to get away from Google and the likes, I think an app like Google Keep would be a good thing. It could be a stand alone app or a part of Proton Drive in it's own app.

  19. Sort Items By Type (E.g. Folders First, Then Files, Etc.)
