Proton Docs file history should not count towards maximum file size limit of 25MB
When working with several larger images into a Proton document you can quickly run into the file size limit of 25MB.
Going back and deleting said pictures is also of no help, as they are still kept in the document history, and now any further changes of that file are held ******* by said history. Not even rollbacks to previous versions are possible. There are currently two ways around this.
1: Create a copy of the document (and re-share any links, in case of a shared document)
2: Disable all file history for everything in Proton Drive.Option 1 is…

Theme Based Search (Proton drive photos)
I propose adding a theme-based search in Proton Drive, similar to Google Photos, while fully respecting privacy. The idea would be to use a local AI on the device to analyze images and generate encrypted tags or indexes, used only for searching. This way, the images would never leave the device or Proton servers.
I’m not sure if this is technically feasible at scale, but with optimized LLMs and AI recognition models, it might be possible to find a balance between privacy and intelligent search, giving users a richer experience without compromising their personal data.

Bookmarks on phones
Proton should add the ability to bookmark specific folders on Android and iOS devices, similar to the Quick Access feature on Windows. This would allow users to navigate to folders faster and jump between them with ease.

photo album sharing
Share photo albums via link with non-Proton users.
This feature exists for Proton drive files, which is why I still need to use proton folders to share photos with friends who are not on Proton Drive.
The whole idea of photo albums is to share them. That this feature is omitted is a deal-breaker for my adoption of photo albums.

Get memories of previous photos at same date or videos
It would be nice to have a similar feature than pCloud that shows photos at the same date (day/month) in the previous years or memory videos as iCloud.

Priority Downloads
Similar to when updating an application on IOS it would be great when I'm already downloading multiple files at once I can select one to prioritize in the download queue.
On example use case is the user is downloading their music library or photos but needs access to a critical document quickly but it is stuck at the end of the download queue. You just have to wait until all the other files are finished downloading before you can access that document.

Cloud Media Settings on Android
You can configure cloud media settings on Android.
Here you can specify which cloud media should be displayed when an app or website asks you to select photos or videos.
Google Photos is listed here by default. However, you can also change it to "None."
It would be great if Proton Drive appeared here as well.
Could you consider this?4 votes -

See album on a timeline
I would like to see album on a timeline. The goal is to watch my event, but only one picture for each. Then I click on it and see the complete album. For exemple, it will help to see everything we did during a year.
I'm looking for a kind of journal view, memory board...7 votes -

Map display for Photos (same as in IOS)
I know, metadata is deleted. But i would find it very cool, to leave the Place of the Photo and make some sort of Maps for Photos (where the Photo has been taken). Same like on IOS. Would appreciate that, since its a cool feature and the only purpose, i leave my Photos on IOS

Longer expiration data period when sharing a Proton Drive file
Maybe there is some technical obstacle that You do not offer longer link expiry date when sharing a file? It seems to be just a few months maximum, while I would like to set the expiry like 2 years from now. Ideally also ticking option to also delete the file once the period is over.

Allow to Only Sync Selected Folders
Similar to Dropbox, it would be great if I could keep only a few folders in sync locally. In other words, if I have 20 folders in Proton Drive, I only want to have 5 of those folders on my Mac; the others can be online-only.

Proton Drive in-app Editor & Viewer
Hey everyone,
I've just have an idea for the entire Proton Drive application for (at least) Windows. If you added a folder or Files, you might be already known, that you can't edit or view the staff inside the Drive App.
So, for example; you've just added or created a .txt or somethings, you have to press on the "folder name" e.g. "My Files", and then it open the File explorer of Windows, probably as well on Linux and Mac but i don't know. So, it would be great to view some files like .txt or some other staffs like…
