2. Sync existing macOS folders

   I miss the option to sync a folder that is not the default Proton Drive location in macOS. I think this is available in the Windows app.
   Right now if I want to sync files with Proton Drive I need to copy them to the Proton Drive location in Finder.

5. more space! we should have the option to have 1TB minimum or even up to 4TB.

   500GB is nowhere near sufficient.
   I want the privacy and security proton drive has, but it should really be 1TB at minumim, and we should have the option to add more.
   Way more.

6. Search bar for mobile app

7. Exclude folders/files

   Thank you for the desktop application, it was necessary and I am very satisfied, excellent job. On the other hand, it would be very useful to have the ability to exclude files/folders, either by selecting them or using a regular expression. For example, excluding folders like 'node_modules'.

8. Require 2FA and password before accessing Proton Drive in Windows Explorer

   I would like the addition of an option in the Settings menu.

   If this option is checked, data 'at rest' in the Proton Drive is encrypted and unusable in a Windows computer by default, on each startup. Only after entering the Proton password and 2FA does the Proton app unlock, decrypt all files and make read/write possible.

   To clarify, it could still sync files while in 'encrypted' mode from the cloud to on-premise, but always encrypted first. And usable upon unlock.

   Then when the user actually wants to do something, they can enter credentials and decrypt their Proton Drive. Kind of like how a TrueCrypt disk would work.

   As mentioned, this should be an 'option' so other users who want to leave their Proton Drive decrypted all the time can still do this.

   The reasoning behind this addition is: it is ridiculously easy to bypass the Windows login screen when on-premise. Someone could login to your computer copy all ProtonDrive files to a USB and then leave, if the ProtonDrive is decrypted by default and accessible in Windows after login - as is the case now.

   This kind of defeats the purpose of having an encrypted local Windows app, hence my suggestion.

9. Show sync progress

   The desktop app could show the sync progress (files synced/total files to be synced) in the Activity tab. That would make it easier to guess how long it might take for the whole syncing process to get completed.

10. Open local PDF files on mobile

    The Proton Drive mobile app can open PDF files uploaded within the app. However, it is not registered to open PDF files from within the system (e.g. a PDF file inside the File Manager). Adding this won't be difficult, especially since Proton Drive mobile app can already open these files.

11. Proton Drive Integration with Android Default Storage

    I haven't yet found a way to set Proton Drive as a default storage location on Android within the "My Files" functionality which drives selectable save options for most file save actions. Obviously, Google Drive is available along with MS OneDrive, internal storage, SD storage and network storage. Having Proton Drive set here would make file management much easier on Android mobile.

12. Selective syncing of files for Mac/Linux/Windows

    Actual syncing of files is so important, that I was considering to upgrade my plan today for getting 500GB storage. But then I realized that ProtonDrive doesn't sync files, and that it works with manual upload/download only, so it wouldn't be useful for me, and so I'll wait rather than upgrade now.

    I work with Mac, Linux, and Windows computers, so I need to sync across them.

    Also note that I said "selective syncing". It would be highly desirable that if you have 200GB of files and you start working with a computer you didn't sync yet, this doesn't trigger a 200GB download, but just a download of the files you really need in that moment. I realize that doing this automatically would be technically challenging (specially if you support Mac, Linux, and Windows), because it would require low-level integration with the filesystem, which is a hard thing, but... I tend to believe there could be some manual workaround (like manually limiting the synced folders/files for a computer) that could offer almost the same functionality without a technically difficult solution.

    Selective syncing is not just about avoiding unnecessary huge downloads, but to be able to work in computers whose free disk space is not enough for storing all your files: if you could choose to sync only a part of the folders tree in that limited space computer, it would be perfect.

    By the way, being able to bypass network-based syncing in some situations, by copying the files with a physical hard disk, would be a plus. Just imagine: You get a new laptop, and you want to sync on it your 200GB of files. Rather than doing it with the network, if you have your files in another computer and you can copy them with a physical disk or local network, you would save lots of unnecesary network traffic. Then, after such big copy is done, the new laptop will continue working with network-based syncing as usual.

13. Password protect specific folders if sharing account.

    It would be nice to have the possibility to assign a password to a specific folder. It's a good solution if you e.g. use your Proton Drive with other family members/friends what so ever.

14. Folder info (size, stats)

    In details I'd like to see the number of files and folders inside a chosen folder and it's total size.
    It'd be also cool to be able to see details for a number of selected folders combined, so I could check the info for a few folders placed next to each other.

15. Proton Photos

    basically Google photos, but better because it's encrypted.

    As in, a mobile app for backing up and organizing phone photos.

    Maybe we could pay a monthly fee for access to Photos, Drive, and VPN service. I'd much rather support an independent company than Google

    It would be amazing to have an API (like https://developers.google.com/drive/api/v3/about-sdk) to be able to make scripts that could automate uploading important files to ProtonDrive using a language like Python or similar.

19. ProtonDrive Bridge

    With ProtonDrive, it would be nice if similar to how ProtonMail establishes a local mail server, if for ProtonDrive the bridge provided a local file server (WebDAV, etc.).

    I'd expect the bridge to handle encryption/decryption and then could easily integrate the drive into any local file manager, etc.
