Move photos from photos tab to other folders
Hi, thanks for making Drive available for Linux. I use Fedora 39 KDE.
I also use Photo backup via Android (Samsung S23)
When I open all my files/photos in Linux web browesr, if I right click images, I can move to respective folders. As well as preview, move, rename, get link & delete.
If I open the folder that uploads Photos, via Android, this option is not available. Only download, upload or delete.
Perhaps this is a feature in the making?

Agreed with the feedback here - I'm coming from OneDrive, where it works exactly as I expect. The photos are backed up to a dedicated "Camera Roll" folder so I can work with the photos as files when needed. OneDrive also has a an album view, which seems to be analogous to what Proton Drive is trying to do. As it is right now, Proton Drive's implementation is nearly useless for how I want to use it.
It's really unclear to me where photo uploads go and why they seem to be in some secret zone that I'm not allowed to see directly.

This is almost a deal breaker for me in switching from OneDrive. My wife and I both have photo backup on our phones, and we have shared our photo folder with each other so we can access each-other's photos.
I know some people like having the photo tab with grid preview — I honestly couldn't care less about that. My wife and I just want our photos to automatically be uploaded into a folder that syncs with our computer so that we can quickly open/edit them in Photoshop, use them in documents and emails, send them, share them, etc. just like every other file. The grid view is fine, just make that tab a folder that syncs to the desktop and it would be golden.

I like the arrangement of photos per time taken. It would a fantastic improvement with the below capabilities:
- Move photos to albums similar to files.
- Create albums within photos tab.
- Securely share an album. -

Just bought Proton Duo to replace Google Drive, Dropbox and Bitwarden.
This here seems to be the only issue for me. I'd like to access my photos from my computer as well. I also want them to organize manually but I also want to use the auto photo upload. Can I get an estimate when this will be fixed?

The photo section should also allow to create folders.

It is amazing to me that this photo section is not just a view showing only photo files for easy access. Never in a 1000 years I would have thought that Photos and My files somehow are different types of storage.
We need a way to see photos in the photos section as files. -

I don't understand why I can't move the photos automatically backed up by the android app to different folders.
