  1. Linux Integration

Hello, I greatly understand the Proton Team is very busy (As I am a Developer as well). However There are many of us in the Linux Community that would greatly benefit from your Drive services being somehow accessible via linux. The community is simply just asking for the team to take this into serious consideration. A lot of us would be relieved to see a statement saying it is planned *Not asking for a date, just planned).

  2. Differentiate icons for deleted and uploaded in the Activity tab

Currently, all the icons look like something has been uploaded to Proton Drive. It is only over hovering over them that I can see if something was actually uploaded or deleted. Having different icons for these two states would be more informative with just a glance.

  3. Still no MacOS client after all this time... Proton Drive still feels like a beta version

While Proton Drive has been available for over a year, the absence of a dedicated MacOS client hinders users from fully enjoying the benefits of your secure and encrypted storage solution.

Currently, users are required to go online and access Proton Drive through the website, making the process of uploading and downloading files cumbersome and time-consuming. By introducing a dedicated MacOS client, users would be able to seamlessly integrate Proton Drive into their desktop workflow, saving time and enhancing their overall experience.

Additionally, I would like to highlight the issue of limited file format compatibility within Proton Drive. Presently, users…

  5. more space! we should have the option to have 1TB minimum or even up to 4TB.

    500GB is nowhere near sufficient.
I want the privacy and security proton drive has, but it should really be 1TB at minumim, and we should have the option to add more.
    Way more.

  6. Alter documents in Drive without downloading, altering, and re-uploading/replacing

I would like to be able to interact with and alter/edit documents inside the drive. It is cumbersome to make a simple edit to a document by having to download, alter elsewhere, and then upload and delete the older version.

  7. Do not download "other computers" files by default

During a second installation of ProtonDrive software on a laptop, I had to re-download dozens of gigabytes from the first desktop PC.

I wish this could have been deactivated, I would have just retrieved a file or two from the web interface if necessary.

  8. Hide the "My Files" subfolder in Windows Explorer

When using Dropbox, OneDrive, GoogleDrive on Windows, you can directly access your files by clicking on the directory in the navigation pane of Windows Explorer. With Proton Drive, all your files are nested under a "My Files" subfolder. It makes accessing the files a little bit more tedious.
This seems to be specific to the Windows client, the Web and Android clients don't have this.
I suggest to change the shortcut in the Navigation Pane of Windows Explorer, so that it points directly to "%DIR%\ProtonDrive\My files"

  9. I think you should have a file viewer or player for files in your Proton Drive

I think you should have a file viewer or player for files that are linked to/in your Proton Drive, much like Google Drive does -- not just downloads of such files.

  10. Add password/pin to access Proton Drive from the web

    Hi,
I would like to be able to lock my proton drive behind a password/pin in case someone else use my browser for any reason

  11. File/folder sharing with other ProtonDrive users, especially organization members (not generic link)!

    File/folder sharing link is inconvenient.
I manage an organization (for family members) and file/folder sharing within org members accessible by everyone's respective account credentials (including pointers in everyone's ProtonDrive views) is essential. Link+Password sent by email is not a good solution for this very practically relevant use case for organizations.

  12. Limit Sync Bandwidth

Thank you for honoring Visionary subscribers with the extra capacity of Proton Drive. Please consider adding a setting that would limit the bandwidth during sync operations. The transfer speed is consuming all available bandwidth and it is difficult to do anything else when the sync process is running.

  13. NOTE application

    NOTE application
Would be extremely usefull to have a note taking application as part of Proton Drive or as a seperate application.
The feature added in proton pass is cumbersome and requires an extension to browser, difficult if sitting down at variable computers, would need to always add the extension then remember to log out

  14. PROTON NOTES

    NOTES program
I see that notes has been added to Proton Pass, cumbersome and can not log into notes, need to use an extension of a browser, so if using another computer. ... need to add extension 1st , not that usefull
But would be much better and more useful to have it as part of Proton Drive or as its own Application, Thank you

  15. Allow one folder for files one does NOT want synchronized on Drive.

I'm fine with keeping a copy of important, encrypted files on Drive for backup. But I like to also keep a second, password protected version, only on my computer for easier and quicker access during daily use. I'd like to keep such files in a folder that would NOT be copied on Drive until I've finished and encrypted them.

  17. Choosing what to keep synched

Proton Drive (windows app) doesn't allow the user to choose folders/files to NOT download on your pc. If I want to use Proton Drive only for Uploading purposes, it is not possible as it always downloads everything else that is in the Proton Drive

  18. Increase Proton paid plans' storage for free

"Proton Mail Plus" plan's storage space isn't value for money.
Mail Plus: 15 GB storage, 48 EUR per year.
Google Drive Free: 15GB, 0 EUR per year.
Microsoft 365 Basic: 100GB storage, 20 EUR per year.
Same goes for Proton Unlimited which is too expensive for 500GB space while other cloud providers offer double storage at half the price.

I appreciate that Proton offers privacy, security and many Mail features. However the storage space it currently offers is unbearably low for the long-term.
Please increase storage space a bit without price increase so that it's more VFM and sustainable for…

  19. Option to choose the type of link to be created for sharing with others: Read only or edit access

Although the option exist to create a sharing link but the link provides full fledged access, a user should be able to create a link which is still secured by password but is not giving edit access to the person holding the link and the password. The feature already exists in microsoft's "one drive".
