"Move to trash" option inside the album view
At the time of writing there is no way to move to the trash photos while previewing them inside an album. This makes deleting photos very annoying because I have to scroll to the date in the timeline where the photo was taken to actually delete it. I'd strongly suggest to enable the "move to trash" function when working with album elements.

Allow sharing with Proton email aliases
Currently in Proton Drive, when I try to share a file with someone who is using a Proton alias — for example, foo.bar681@passinbox.com — I get an error message:
"Inviting someone with a Proton or SimpleLogin domain is not permitted."
Why this restriction? Why, in order to receive an invitation to share a Drive file, must we expose our primary email address?

[Proton Drive – Photos Web] Do not redirect user to album after adding photo(s)
Current Behavior:
When adding one or more photos to an album via the Proton Drive Photos web interface, the user is automatically redirected to the destination album.Expected Behavior:
The user should remain in the Photos view after adding photo(s) to an album, consistent with the behavior already implemented in the mobile apps (at least iOS, I didn't check the Android on).Problem Statement:
This redirect creates significant friction when organizing photos spread across a long time period. For each add action, the user is forced to:
- Get redirected to the album
- Click "Back"
- Navigate back to…12 votes -
Improve Downloading and uploading speed
i know that proton drive has robust security and i think that is why probably the download and uploading speed is very slow compared to other solutions like mega. Proton Drive would be top notch with a more robust server speed. i think that 50 MB/s would be very good starting point for example.

Allow hiding the user email in Proton Docs to avoid leaking personal data
When sharing a document created in Proton Drive with another person, if the Proton user makes a comment, the original email of the account e.g., user@protonmail.com is leaked. This is a problem in my view, particularly when an inbox has multiple aliases and domains and the user does not want to leak their personal Proton email. Please allow users to hide this information altogether when sharing documents or at least choose which alias to display. Thanks.

Mount Proton Drive as a Virtual Disk / File System Integration for Windows
I am a Proton Plus subscriber, and as a paying customer I expect a user experience and level of integration similar to what most competing cloud storage services already provide regarding backup and file synchronization.
I use Proton Drive not only as a backup tool, but also as a working storage location.
However, there is currently no option to mount Proton Drive as a standard virtual disk on Windows — for example as drive “P:\” in applications that interact directly with the file system. This feature is essential for professional and productivity-focused workflows because it would:
make the entire Drive…

Proton Docs Bulk Download
There needs to be an essential feature to bulk download Proton Docs into a readable file format of your choice. Allowing the downloader to choose a default file time (Adobe, Word, etc.). For purposes of downloading multiple files at once for ease and convenience. And for purposes of being able to do a convenience manual backup to a local hard drive.

Storage optimization- flag duplicate photos to merge or delete
When I moved my photos over from Google and my phone, I wound up with quite a few duplicates that are taking up significantly more storage than needed. I don't have time to go through and find them all manually. If I remember correctly, Google Photos would gather duplicate photos into a specific folder for you to review and merge/delete the duplicates. This feature would be super useful in the photos portion of Proton Drive.

Mobile app photos should be viewable in the proton drive desktop app
Currently the only way to see files backed up from a mobile app is to open up the proton drive web app. This is incredibly cumbersome and there should be a section in the proton drive desktop app where we can access those photos.

Scheduled Photo Backup: Let users choose WHEN to upload, not just IF
The problem:
Proton Drive currently backs up photos the moment they are taken (when on Wi-Fi). This sounds convenient, but in practice it creates a real issue: photos you take and delete within minutes — screenshots, temporary reminders, blurry shots — all get permanently backed up to the cloud before you have a chance to review them. For privacy-conscious users (which is exactly Proton's audience), this is counterproductive. You end up with a cluttered photo library full of junk you never intended to keep permanently.
The request:
Add a scheduled backup option in Settings → Photo Backup, with choices such…8 votes -
