  1. Pricing on Basic Account

The pricing structure has a GIANT $4/month while hidden underneath some where is that is the yearly price, so you have to pay one time a year at $48, well some small business people honestly cannot afford that right now, so when you want to upgrade you hit your customer with monthly payments are $5, totaling $74 a year. That is such a huge difference, I at one time truly liked you email but If you cannot allow me to pay $4 a month when on a monthly basis I will just have to not use your service. Outlook is…

  2. Protonmail storage tiers

I am a protonmail free user who would find more storage space very important but do not need/want all the additional benefits of protonmail plus (like multiple accounts etc). I was wondering if there could be such an option between the product tiers of protonmail free and protonmail plus, wherein users pay only for the extra storage they need.

  4. Another subscription plan

I wouldn't mind paying you folks for your services but I think given the choice between $48 a year and $0 dollars a year, in this case I'll take the $0 dollar option.
If it were $24 a year I would be much more inclined to accept your "Plus" subscription.
    But I don't need 200 folders, I don't think I need "Custom email addresses", and I don't think I'll ever use ProtonDrive.

  5. ONE EURO MONTHLY PLAN

ONE EURO MONTHLY PLAN. Here in Brazil the Euro is equivalent to six times the value of the EURO making it unfeasible without a certain sense. A simple package with 20 or 30 folders, a few more features and Ok would be enough, besides competing with Tutanota. Protonmail is great, read this idea that there is certainly potential for this.

  6. remove "Your account has at least one overdue invoice. Your access will soon get restricted. Pay invoice." warning for auto-renew subs

I'm set up for automatic subscription renewal via a linked PayPal account. Every month Proton automatically charges my account when payment is due. There's no action on my part.

So why is it every month I get a big red banner across the top of my ProtonMail page that says "Your account has at least one overdue invoice. Your access will soon get restricted. Pay invoice." C'mon Proton. Why are you nagging me for payment?

  7. Maybe a “Lite” plan?

I thought that a plan between free and plus would be nice.

    Idea:
Storage: from 1 to 5 GB that you can choose.
    Addresses: 2
    pm.me address: yes
Messages per day: 150 (same as free)
    Folders/Labels: 20?
    Custom Domains: no
    Email Filters: yes
    Autoresponder: yes

This would be perfect for me.

  8. Visionary package without vpn

When revising your pricing/packages, it would be really nice to have the option to have visionary without VPN. I think it's great your company works on a proton suite with everything in it, but for some people just email is all they need/want. Then the visionary package is way overpriced for a small family. Dropping VPN and offering it for about 20€/month or 200€/yr would be more reasonable already.

  9. Purchase vs Subscription

I avoid anything that requires an obligation to maintain such as a subscription, additionally I have a certain degree of resentment towards anything fostering a trend of non-ownership.
Which is why Lifetime memberships appeal to me, However I'm in my 50's and paying for 30yrs worth of membership (which I wont do if it requires me to remember to pay every X yrs and / or potentially lose some archived mail.) could be considerably cheaper then Lifetime, so either way I may not be impressed.
But maybe you 'could' offer something that appeals to people like me and even offer…

  11. A basic plan.

Really love protonmail. I very much love to use a paid version. But as a student and as someone from a 3rd world country i find 5 euro per month too high a price. Why don't you guys introduce a basic plan with following features for 1 euro per month(or 10 euro per year).

    *1 GB storage
    *2/3 addresses
    *50 labels/folders
    *300 messages per day
*send and receive mail using @pm.me address.

I think this will be a great plan for those who find protonmail intresting and too poor to subscribe plus plan, especially students.

  12. Mental Health Counselor Paid Tier (tailored to their needs)

I would love to see a paid tier tailored to mental health counselors who are using TeleTherapy. Counselors need to be able to have clients use an electronic signature feature to sign legal documents (HIPPA privacy, informed consent, this kind of thing). I see it offered via Hushmail, but I like ProtonMail. Some services also provide secure website contact forms enabling potential clients to securely enter their information. In this professionally tailored paid tier it'd be wonderful to have it easier for clients to initiate an encrypted email, even if they don't have Protonmail. Also, mental health counselors are required…

A good idea for many people would be to have available a DIY plan, for ex. 1 euro/country.

  15. Add a "Free+" or "Basic" tier, which would be available for a one-time-payment of around 20-50eur.

There should be a plan/tier between the Free and Plus.

It should be a one time payment only, and the chost should be around what the Plus tier costs for 3-6months. Something like 20-50 eur.

This would allow people who do not want to be charged recurring payments to support this great product and get a little "upgrade" to add to their free tier account.

The features this gives would be very much like the Free tier, but upgraded a bit, but nowhere near the Plus tier. Something like:

    • 1 GB Extra space (in addition to whatever you have now)

  16. Buy gigabyte storage for my ProtonMail account.

Hi. I have a free account with only 500MB, but I'd like to increase it to 5GB-10GB at least. Would it not be possible for users to buy permanent storage for their email account?

    Regards.

  17. Make more features free

Move more features from the paid plans into the free ones to make ProtonMail more atractive and more worth to become promoted.

ProtonMail itself is a very good product, but unfortunatelly too many needed functions require an upgrade to a paid plan (not everyone can afford him/herself that, with disaccurages them from the usage

  18. no storage for free plans & no storage plans

Criptext which is a privacy focused email provider is based on not storing emails. How it works is that they have a desktop and mobile clients. These clients are required to use Criptext and you have no cloud storage for emails. All of your emails before you recieve them in the Criptext clients are encrypted and in limbo on Criptexts servers and if you do not retrieve them with a Criptext client after X months, the emails are deleted.

I would like to see ProtonMail have this as an option. For free ProtonMail accounts you will get no cloud storage.…

  19. A €1/$1 per month membership with Bridge

Many people don't need everything in the Plus package, nor can afford the price. A minimal package with Bridge or IMAP/SMTP support would allow many more to support your service.

  20. Familly offer/bundle

    Hi,

I have a ProtonMail Plus account, and happy with that.
My wife is also using Protonmail (thanks to me :) ) but only the Free account.
She would love to have the Plus features, but the price tag is high, especially when your are in the same household...

Is there a way to offer a "family bundle"?

The perfect bundle for me would be a Plus account, where another person can share your storage plan (I have 10 GB, so let's say we split in two or I decide how to allocate space), but the other person has a…
