1. Automate plan right-sizing when renewing

   It would be good for protonmail to see what features someone really uses, and suggest the correct plan automatically instead of forcing them to renew things I don't use at a very high price. Right now, you are only doing this for upgrades.

   I need a plan for 3 users with several custom domains for one of the users. I have zero need for Drive, VPN, Calendar, Wallet, and all other options you are pushing onto Unlimited subscribers (which you can easily see). One reasonable option today would be multiple email plus account (with additional custom domains for one of the accounts), but it looks like there is no proper way to downgrade to your mailplus account from unlimited so you have created a lock-in.

   Your self-serving business practices are painfully obvious, and can only encourage users to migrate to another service.

2. Plan Proposal

   I keep hearing pleas like this, so I think Proton Mail has to take the following seriously.

   1. The current Family plan is too "small" to cover the needs of families with more than six members, so I would like to suggest for it to be discontinued, and for its subscribers to be migrated to a new Visionary plan (not to be confused with current Visionary plan).

   2. Create a new Visionary plan that would retain all existing features of the existing Visionary plan (except for the promise of first or priority access to future features releases) and access to tools to add more than six members into their subscription with an additional cost (for example €2.00 for each additional member that goes beyond six ie. seventh member onwards).

   3. The new Visionary plan should be similar in price to the current Family plan, because many Family plan subscribers have already expressed concerns about the pricing of the plan, and this is an indicator that points to them being unable to feel the value for what they are paying for.

   4. Introduce a new Progenitor plan for current Visionary plan subsribers to migrate to, to honor them for their loyalty, for it is their support that makes Proton Mail what it is today. My proposal for the new Progenitor plan is for it offer the same features of the existing Visionary plan along with tools to add more than six family members into the same subscription (without additional cost, unless they are to go over ten family membes ie. eleventh member onwards will be charged at €2.00 per member), and for their base Proton Drive shareable storage limit to be increased to 10 TB.

   The main goal for my proposal is to address the concerns of Family plan subscribers who are yearning for the possibility to add more than six family members into their subscribed plan, and at the same time, to enhance the value of what current Visionary plan subscribers get from being loyal to Proton Mail since day one with an ultra exclusive Progenitor plan.

3. Adopt a sliding scale approach to pricing and a more flexible customizable plan building option

   More flexible "choose your own adventure" style plan building. all options are given a value and you can construct a plan tailored to your needs.

   example: i could have a family plan for email for 3 people with minimal features except for privacy and i could have the flexibility to pay small additional fee to upgrade storage for all accounts. or even just the option to add more storage with the free drive account for a small monthly fee would be better.

   [my opinion: Ideally adding discounted plans for community groups/activists and a focus on a discount for low income families/individuals, focusing on those that feel unsafe in their current circumstances. particularly for people of colour/indigenous/queer/trans folks. Especially those in countries seeing a spike in fascist rhetoric in the mainstream... possibly via a sliding scale function? 4. Feature Request: Build Your Own Plan Option

   Hi Proton Team,

   I appreciate the great services you offer, but I’d love to see a Build Your Own Plan option. Right now, if someone only needs a few services like Mail, Pass, and Calendar but not VPN or Drive due to various reasons, they have to either pay separately for each one (which adds up) or get Proton Unlimited, which includes services they may not use.

   A custom plan would let users choose exactly what they need while keeping it more affordable than paying for each service individually. This flexibility would make Proton even more appealing

   A very simple example of this would be a "Build Your Own Plan" option where you select the services you need, like Pass, Mail, and Calendar. Right now, buying them individually would cost the same or even more than Proton Unlimited.

   With this option, users could bundle only what they need and pay, for example, $7 or $8 or whatever price Proton finds fair rather than paying separately for each service or subscribing to a larger plan that includes extras they don’t use.

5. Mail Plus plan with shared domain

   Sharing a domain among several people is now very expensive.

   The Mail Plus plan is more than enough for most people, but sharing a domain is not possible with it. The cheapest plan for sharing a domain is Mail Essentials which is almost double the price of Mail Plus. That is a lot.

   I suggest adding one of these options:
   1. Add domain sharing to Mail Plus
   2. Make an affordable "bare essentials" family plan
   3. Add domain sharing as a paid add-on feature

   This is strange.

   And each family is a different world.

   Maybe should exist a flexible family plan, being able to choose some variables, like: number of users, applications (maybe one family wants VPN and others do not,...), number of devices,...

8. Offer a "lite" version with a lifetime purchase option for users who use minimal features.

   I love the services Proton offers and believe they should be compensated for the great work they do. But I would really like to be able to just pay like a one time $250 for an account that had the paid subscription benefits but with just a single email domain and half the storage or something.

   Consumers are burnt out on subscription models, we need to go back to just buying something and that be the end of the transaction.

10. Offer a premium plan for Proton Calendar that’s separate from Mail Plus

    I would like to have access to the premium features of Proton Calendar, like having more than 3 calendars, being able to customize the colors or share calendars with other accounts, but I don’t need Mail Plus. I have specific needs for my email hosting and Proton Mail Plus is not the best option for them, so I have another paid email provider. I would be happy to pay 1€ per month to access the premium features of Proton Calendar, but paying the price of Mail Plus (around 4 or 5€ per month) just to get the calendar is too much for me.

    Could you please create a premium plan for Proton Calendar that is separate from the premium plan for Proton Mail? It could be called “Calendar Plus” for example, and would allow people like me to pay a little something for premium calendar features, without being forced to pay for extra Mail storage, aliases, custom domains, premium support, etc. Thank you!

11. Proton Visionary for Single User

    I would love to support Proton by subscribing to the Visonary plan, however, I am the only one in my family that would be using it and I don't want to have to pay for 6 Family accounts.

    I currently have Proton Duo (So that I have support for SMTP) and I would love access to Proton Wallet, however, having to pay almost $80AUD isn't feasible.

    Please add a plan like Duo/Family Unlimited but only for Proton Mail (not Unlimited).

    My use case: I want to move to Proton and share a custom domain with my family. The only way to do this is with the Proton Duo/Family "Unlimited" but these plans offer a lot more and in consequence are more expensive. Because of this I would have to pay double the price of Mail Plus for features I don’t want to use.

    Look at Google Family Plans.
    It starts from 100 GB.

    I assume pricing would also decrease for 100 GB plan, 200 GB plan as it's relatively smaller than 3 TB.

    Encryption of data in applications and before any data is read more transferred Encrypt it again via a different method everytime app communicates with other apps or services. Run Encryption again after Data is transferred and then again after data has been received. Alternate Encryption methods each time causing the exact pattern of the process hard to mirror. Switching up servers along the way. Thus maki6it nearly impossible to duplicate. Never use the same method back to back for any data transfer, no matter what it is. Replacement of Encryption process and keys should Alternatively be hard to follow no matter the Encryption or level of Encryption.

20. Month to Month plans after terms are met

    As an added benefit of the longer term plans, such as 12 and 24 month, extend that pricing post term completion.

    So, if 24 months of proton mail were $191.76 upfront(which would be $7.99 a month), then the 25th month and beyond is billed monthly at $7.99.

    If someone committed to 24 months, then they keep that rate M2M afterwards.
