How can we improve Proton?

  2. FIDO NFC for MFA

    Hello. I recently was adding 2 FIDO keys to my account and I noticed that I needed to have the authenticator app checked on has well. An issue comes into play when I use proton pass as my totp.

    If I get logged out of my account on my phone (iPhone), I don't have an option to use NFC with the FIDO key as my MFA. Can this function be added?

  5. Keep Messages in Sent/Drafts by default

    This setting should be set by default because I have been using protonmail for years thinking that they never figured out how to use the sent box properly because it would never show the messages I sent and it was very frustrating. I finally found this in the settings and it does what I think a sent box should do by default

  6. Ability to view original email for forwarded emails

    Don't know if in description wrote understandable

    There is one one thing with Protonmail- I need to make a certain screenshot for the court, but after I have resend that particular e-mail I can not open it as state institution it sent to me

    For a screenshot for a court I need that e-mail to view as I received it

  7. Proton Authenticator (standalone app)

    Proton made Authenticator apps, with cloud backup.
    Hi, I'm currently using Microsoft authenticator for 2FA.
    I can't move away from Ms authenticator because cloud backup features.
    TOTP authenticator isn't hard to made on mobile/desktop nowdays proton team can leverage existing proton drive space to make these as a cloud backup

  8. Turn Off Spam Altogether

    I'd like a filter to let everything through. I have two spam filters, yours and SpamSieve. I have several accounts. SS is fully trained already. I can use my filtering. Your system is whitelisting and blacklisting the very same duplicates of emails. So I need to turn it off.

  9. Proton drive should remove "my computer" feature on PC and have a single default sync folder like MEGA.

    When I use mega, I can upload my document on my mobile phone and it immediately gets downloaded on my PC mega folder. Vise versa.

    Proton drive should do the same.

    The "My computer" folder sync feature on PC is completely useless. Your ios app don't even have the "my computer" folder. It means I cannot access information on my mobile when I upload documents on my PC. You should make a default cloud drive folder like MEGA. Let users drag their documents to that folder, auto sync, and it should be available on all platforms. More user friendly.

    Well with all the services proton offers now i’ve been able to get away from google and microsoft services completely…. Except for one we all gotta have because it’s really so massive it’s in a league of its own . That is youtube ! It’s the last link i have to have to google . I run a burner email in there but still hate that i have to rely on one of their services for premium video services . Proton could really open a big door and further engrave their name as a leader in the tech world in…

  13. Managing Simplelogin aliases’s details in other Proton’s application.

    It is too tired to open Simplelogin aliases to edit aliases’s details every time. So I think making it available to directly edit it on Protonapps(mail, drive, calendars, pass) will be great.

  14. A all-in-one program on PC, maybe on mobile device…

    Hello,

    When reinstalling my computer, I needed to reinstall every app drive, bridge, vpn… and each time I had to do the full logging process.

    I was wonderingif it was possible to develop one Proton software with all the feature inside.

    Maybe the same also in mobile device app …

  15. Print button more prominent | Print shortcut

    To store emails offline I use the Print function to save as a PDF. Unfortunately the Print function is tucked away behind the icons menu triple dot button above each mail. This is a rather cumbersome time consuming action to save emails at the moment. Is it possible to have either:
    - a permanent print button in the icons menu above each menu
    - make the icons menu above each email customizable so that the print button can be added by user's individual choice
    - make a shortcut to print an email
    - add a print button next to each…

  16. Unify email domains for interchangeability

    @protonmail.com and @proton.me should have a shared registration so that emails to both go to the same user, or emails to either are forwarded to the orginal selected domain.

    This also mitigates phishing, as currently a John@proton.me scammer can send phishing/social engieering attacks posing as legitimate John@protonmail.com

    Either combine them, or make them vastly different so as not to be confused

    Also allow claim of deleted/deactivated accounts if the name is shared between @protonmail.com and @proton.me

  17. print whole conversation

    Print conversation : I would love to see a feature that allows a neat print of a whole conversation / thread. The workaround is : printing the last email in the conversation. But it can result in an awfull bunch of brackets at the beginning of lines

  18. Security model parity between web and mobile

    When I log in to Proton Mail on my mobile I'm logged in only in Proton Mail app. When I log in to Proton Drive app — same story. I can be logged in to one, the orther or both, but even then have secured Drive app additionally with PIN/biometrics. This is awesome, because if my unlocked device falls into the wrong hands somehow then the person wouldn't have access to all my files I store in Proton Drive as it would be either locked or logged out. This is important to me personally because I have a chronic illness…

  19. Partner With Duck Duck Go, Quad 9 DNS and Make Powerful Privacy Union.

    Duck Duck Go , Quad 9 DnS and Proton all of these companies are all about users privacy.

    It would be great to have these three companies working together. Duck Duck Go Handles the Browser, Proton handles the mail , Quad 9 handles the DNS.

    I know there VPN which is good. But I don’t think Proton has a DNS yet. Partner up with Quad 9 , and Proton doesnt have broswer, partner up with Duck Duck Go.

    Make one powerful privacy product with all three companies.

    Thats just a dream for me. I hope this dream actually happens.

  20. Don't alter email content or autosend to trash

    Um. Protonmail is now altering the content of my emails by, apparently, allowing only two consecutive spaces? Example, 6 spaces in a row gets reduced to 2. You had one job ... to not alter content ... geez.

    And Drafts are now being autosent to Trash? Huh?

    Gonna have to go back to gmail I guess. What is wrong with you people? 🤷‍♂️ 🤔
