  1. Separate second passwords per service

Right now there’s a second password for the email account. Can we set a different second password per service and choose whether to use it or not?

The issue is that when I log into Drive or Authenticator, they ask for the email’s second password — which isn’t secure. I set that second password specifically for email, so that if I enter my password in another service, nobody could use it to access my mailbox.

For example, I don’t need a second password for Authenticator or VPN. Sometimes I log into my VPN at my parents’ place, and I don’t…

  2. Allow user to directly login to uservoice with their proton account

It felt a little silly that I was offered options to login immediately with Facebook or Gmail, but not with Proton account. Uservoice should feel like it belongs to the same service ecosystem.

  3. Automatic updates on Linux Debian

Hello, I use the desktop application on a Linux workstation (Linux Mint, Debian distribution) and almost every time I open an application, I am prompted to update it. This is a bit annoying because I have several applications of the same type. In the end, I can't be bothered to update them every time because it's a bit time-consuming... I've searched the internet, but I can't find an apt repository to perform updates automatically at the same time as my PC updates.
Is there currently a way to automatically update the various Proton applications, for example with APT Linux?
    If…

  4. Create an Option to seperate email accounts from each other

In order to be able to focus on a certain email account, please make it possible to have the option to include/exclude one or several accounts. But keep the all accounts in one view as well.

  5. Create a built in feeback button in all services.

Please create a built in feedback button in all services (app and webpage). It should be easy to be a customer and to provide feedback.

  6. Global Notification to all Trusted Persons When Someone Requested and Granted Emergency Access to a Proton Account

Further to another existing suggestion (https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/935538-accounts-payments/suggestions/50403483-allow-users-to-configure-an-email-to-be-sent-along), please consider

    1. Automatically notify all trusted persons that who (with their proton email address)
    2. Allow users to configure optional global notifications to all trusted persons when someone

requested and /or granted emergency access.

It would be particularly useful when Trusted persons do not know each other or they are at different geo-locations.

It would allow the trusted persons to work together, if necessary, to better handle the "emergency".

  8. Please update the Mac desktop app to allow multiple windows

I use ProtonMail's app on my Mac laptop everyday. However, I'm frustrated by the inability to see email and the calendar at the same time. I resort to logging in via a browser and accessing the calendar there instead. That's a pain, though. How about some way to look at both of these from the app at the same time?

  9. Privacy-first local media compression & conversion tool (Photos & Videos)

I would like to propose a privacy-first media compression and conversion tool that runs entirely on local devices (PC and smartphones), without uploading any photos or videos to external servers.

    Description:
This application would allow users to safely compress and convert images and videos directly on their own devices.
By leveraging human visual perception–aware compression methods, media files can be significantly reduced in size while preserving visual quality and original resolution (pixel dimensions).

Users could optionally convert media into next-generation formats such as AVIF, JPEG XL, or AV1, choosing between compatibility-focused or efficiency-focused options.
All processing would be performed locally,…

  10. [Proton Meet] Raise hand

It seems that there is currently no way to raise your hand in Proton Meet, which is very useful when meeting with more than three people.

Are there plans to add this feature?

  11. Evaluate closely the risks to Proton and users even in Switzerland.

Somewhat different from most topics here: I want to suggest a bit of caution with the frequent use of "Swiss - based" and the like as a sort of guarantor of privacy; elsewhere on Proton's website (the business part iirc) it even states it is thus beyond the surveillance powers of the U.S. and co. This is simply not true. Indeed, Switzerland IS MUCH BETTER about privacy and laws than the U.S., however like ALL states, they are composed of the weakest links in security: humans.

I am not suggesting Proton move out of Switzerland at all. But, the state…

  12. Add export option - single codes

For work reasons we sometimes need to share single codes to our partner companies.

Since Proton Authenticator only provides the export of all codes it would be nice to have an option where you are able to share only one entry for a better work together.

I appreciate the effort and the proton functions!

  13. Consider using Obtanium to support GrapheneOS and other Android derivatives

Consider using Obtanium to support GrapheneOS and other Android derivatives for the distribution of Android Apps.

I am a privacy focused Proton customer and I have recently switched to GrapheneOS. Obtanium is a small Android App that helps to track app updates across the web; ao. directly from Github. Please consider a rebranded Proton version of Obtanium, or some other affiliation. The payoff is twofold:
    - As a Proton user I can install Android apps directly and track updates. Both good things.
    - Affiliation would mean that a non Google Playstore gets some security backing. This would be great to…

  14. I switched to Proton because I hate AI and it seems more reliable than gmail.

So please get rid of your chatbot. Nobody needs that. If your selling point is meant to be privacy and no chatbots, stick to that please and have some principles

  15. docs

Adding headers, footers, and (editable) pagination would be appreciated by those who edit course materials, along with more font options, even if they have to be uploaded to your platforms.

And if this type of feature is complicated to implement online due to hosting providers, why not also create a Proton Docs desktop app?

    Sincerely,

  19. Label selection pop-up in PM app should be sorted

Label order displayed in pop-up when tagging an open mail with a label should be exactly the same as in 'Settings for folders and labels', otherwise you have to read thru many many labels to find the wanted label to tag a mail.
Consequence: If you sort (alphabetically) labels in Settings, labels in pop-up should appear sorted as well.
