1. A video hosting platform

   YouTube started getting accused of using AI and getting large creators banned. Proton already has a userbase and this is a great opportunity to make one.

2. Better onboarding documentation

   Two bits of information would have helped me as I onboarded to the Proton ecosystem if they were placed front and center:

   1. Make it obvious that there's a limit to the number of times you can delete an email. As I set up a strategy for myself, I created a number of emails that I then wanted to rename, and hit the limit of deletions. This could be as simple as showing a generic message every time a user tries to delete an email that says "Are you sure you want to delete this email? You are only allowed to delete an email X times.

   2. Although I'm fairly technical, I'm new to the world of self-hosted email DNS. I first set up self-hosting through Proton Mail, and then found that one can also self-host email domains through Proton Password to use for aliasing. It would have been very helpful in both places to say that you can not host the same domain for each use case - it needs to be one or the other. Many people probably know this, I did not, and it would have saved me and Proton Support time by surfacing this info up front.

3. Identity/Adresse Book Wallet for online shopping and more

   Dear Proton Team,

   The massive usage of online shopping causes big issues : we all rely on these platforms to secure personal information, and avoid having them available on dark web (or directly sold to date brokers)
   
   As we can hope (or pray) that's the case for Payment info, we all know that "less valuable" info like mobile phone or postal address are not so protected.
   And each day i read in the news about a new site leaked by some hacker group (especially here, in France)

   So my idea is : instead of filling mobile and postal adresse on each shopping site, i would like to provide a "proton id wallet" link or Id to each site.
   Kind of what's it's done when i pay with Paypal, but for administrative information.

   From the vendor site perspective, they only have an IdKey, and they have to connect to this ProtonWallet to get the needed information (and they should need it only to send the products)

   From the user perspective, i have a dashboard with an entry for each vendor.
   And on each entry, i can choose which information i accept to share (the information consent could be configured the first time i do the connection on the vendor site). And i could optionaly set a deadline and/or revoke access.

   This new app could have a default "relaxed" behaviour to have more easy adoption for most users (consent for all information requested by vendor with no deadline). Even with this relaxed mode, it would be really more difficult for hackers to leak this information (as they would not be directly in the vendor database)

   So besides the technical aspect, the bigger issue is the adoption on the platforms side : more easy for them to keep their system as it and store information locally.
   That's why it can be only a serious and big company like you that could propose this. If more and more users install it and ask their favorite platform to move to it, it could change progressively. And marketing campaigns would help ("serious online shops take care of your private data by using Proton ID Wallet")

   Dear Proton Product Team,

   I am writing to strongly request an API integration or strategic partnership with Nedap, specifically for their healthcare platform Nedap ONS.

   Who is Nedap?
   Nedap N.V. is not just a local vendor; it is a major Dutch multinational technology company publicly listed on Euronext Amsterdam (AMS: NEDAP). They are a dominant force in the European technology sector, employing over 900 people and operating globally.

   What is Nedap ONS?
   'ONS' is the de facto standard Electronic Health Record (EHR/ECD) and administrative suite for long-term care in the Netherlands. It is used by the majority of organizations in:

   Elderly Care (VVT)

   Disability Care (GHZ)

   Mental Health Care (GGZ)

   The Business Case & Opportunity:
   Currently, thousands of healthcare professionals use Nedap ONS daily to manage sensitive patient data. However, communicating this data externally remains a challenge.

   Perfect Alignment on Privacy: Both Proton and Nedap position themselves as champions of security and privacy. An integration would be the ultimate compliant solution (GDPR/NEN 7510) for secure communication in the Dutch healthcare sector.

   High Volume Enterprise Potential: The user base of Nedap ONS consists of large enterprise healthcare organizations. Facilitating a connection with Proton Mail would lower the barrier for these organizations to adopt Proton for Business on a large scale.

   Technical Feasibility: Nedap maintains a modern, open API platform (Ons API), which is designed for third-party integrations.

   Our Request:
   We urge the Proton team to evaluate the Nedap ONS API capabilities. A validated integration would allow healthcare workers to send encrypted emails directly from their primary workspace, making Proton the preferred secure email provider for the entire Dutch healthcare industry.

11. Customize organization of lumo chats into folders/tags

    Being able to categorize chats or even better particular answers lumo gives into folder/tag categories to be able to quickly recall or browse would be extremely helpful to leverage the computing power used, reduce having to ask the same question again, and being able to look at answers all at once (eg: research project, games, special interest subject, etc...)

12. Mail: Read status corruption

    Proton Mail very often screws up the read status.

    When I navigate from an email back to my inbox, then the status remains unread.

    Happens worst with the Proton Mail iOS/iPadOS mobile apps.

    This bug has existed for years.

    The Proton platform manages to be even buggier than Google and I wouldn't recommend Proton to my friends or family.

13. AI Shield

    End to End encryption will become a moot point as far as privacy is concerned once AI becomes integrated into OS. Microsoft has made it clear that it wants copilot to be "An AI companion for everyone" and "see what we see and hear what we hear", NVidia wants to copilot everything. It's currently opt in, but if history has taught us anything, that won't last as soon as MS has finished bringing the frogs to a boil. So, even if it's end to end encrypted, it will be as private as someone standing over your shoulder watching everything you do, except it's someone with perfect memory, that's likely sending that info to their boss (hint, that will never be you). Seeing as MS has already been caught unlocking/scanning encrypted files by trying passwords you had saved with them in One drive, sharepoint and teams, this suspicion is neither unlikely nor alarmist. In fact, there's a good chance it won't require you interacting with Proton apps, it'll just help itself to the data to "improve your user experience" or something. So to maintain privacy Proton would need to develop something that stops AI from being able to see or read the info, which AI will be able to do in any manner that you (the user) can meaningfully interact with or view it. A product that sandboxes and blocks AI from viewing your Proton data when accessed would be nice. I'd assume Apple and (definitely) Google native apps will benefit from this layer of privacy and security also.     In the folder view it only shows the display name on the email address, but this makes it harder to fully identify the source without the domain. For spam safety it helps you spot bogus domain names so you can reject it without looking. For regular emails it helps when someone's display name is just their name; I have to open the email to know if it's from a company I want to communicate with. For source verification it would be even better for it to be the envelop FROM address instead of the From header, but I know that's harder. I'd be fine with options to choose the display format - Name + Address, Name, Address, etc.

16. Add better filter/sort for Inbox in Proton Mail

    While filters allow you to set up rules for moving emails to other folders, I find when I do that I often miss important emails because I watch my inbox but don't have time to regularly go through every folder. When it's time to clean out my inbox (currently have 357 unread messages), it's nice to go through them by sender. I can sort by the size of the email or the receipt date, but not by sender. I can type in a filter at the top, but I have to remember to check "Inbox" or it shows me everything. I'm not particular about the mechanism, but a few options would be: sorting by sender; having saved searches I can flip between; or making Inbox the default on searches, whether globally or through an option I can change. The saved search filters would be particularly nice, but just adding a sort option for Sender, and maybe Subject, would be nice.

17. Customizable animated avatar for Lumo

    Hey Lumo team,

    I love the animated Lumo avatar, but it would be awesome to let users customize it. A few ideas:

    • Theme picker – dark, neon, minimalist, etc . & Upload your own short GIF/PNG (with an optional “animation off” toggle for low‑bandwidth mode).
    • Live preview before saving, so we can see how it looks in‑chat.

    Having a personal avatar would make the experience feel more “me” and keep the vibe fresh. Thanks for considering!

18. Proton Profile

    I want a firefox/windows feature that captures my user profile. I can launch it on a fresh linux install and it immediately brings my entire user profile down to the local device - so i can start working right where i left off.
    All my short cuts, firefox favorites, etc.

    Ideal for say a debian live usb stick - i install proton profile and boom im productive immediately right where i left off.

    It local self destructs based on user setting or on idle.

19. Expansion to Latin America

    Proton is a very solid service and I'd like to see it expand to new markets such as Latina America, where privacy doesn't seem to be a great concern and now we're seeing a lot of private data leaked, stolen, etc., and all the crimes that come with it. I understand the pricing can't be the same as in the EU or the USA with the economic disparity in these regions, but surely some alliances could be made and a major awareness campaign can be created to teach people why their privacy matters more than ever. Both for individuals, families and business.
