2. Open source pass-cli

The pass-cli docs are on GitHub, but it would be much better if the application itself was there also.

4. Mailbox for Unread E-mails in ProtonMail

• Dedicated mailbox for unread emails:
An inbox that displays only unread messages would be very useful for users who want to focus solely on new items.

• Persistence of the “Unread” filter:
As an alternative, when applying the “Unread” filter in the “All Mail” mailbox, it would be helpful if this setting remained active when navigating between folders and upon returning, avoiding the need to reapply the filter each time.

5. Proton Tasks

A new product within ProtonMail and ProtonCalendar, similar to Microsoft To-Do and Google Keep

• Task list in the ProtonMail side panel:
It would be useful to include, alongside the existing icons (Contacts, Proton Calendar, Referral, VPN, and Security Center), a dedicated “Tasks” icon. This Tasks section could be created either in Proton Calendar or Proton Mail. It would not be mandatory to assign a date to a task; however, if a date is defined, it could be automatically displayed in Proton Calendar.
Additionally, it would be interesting to allow linking related emails to a task (both received and sent), making…

6. Improve Proton Calendar notifications on Linux (sound, persistence, snooze)

On Linux (Ubuntu / GNOME), Proton Calendar notifications are easy to miss: they are transient, quiet, and disappear after a few seconds if you are away from the screen.

There is currently no way to:
• enable audible alerts
• make notifications persistent until dismissed
• snooze calendar reminders

This makes Proton Calendar significantly less usable on Linux compared to mobile platforms and even basic desktop calendar apps.

Please consider improving Linux notifications by supporting one or more of the following:
• notification sounds
• persistent / actionable notifications
• snooze support
• better integration with Linux desktop notification standards…

8. There should be a button in the email client that opens attached files immediately without having to save file to disk with name.

Currently you click a file attachment and it might say "Preiew for this file type is not supported" and the email client displays a Download button. In other mail clients, there is usually an accompanying "Open" button, which saves the file to a temporary location on the harddrive and then opens it with the system's registered associated program.

On windows, they use the "open" utility, on linux it's xdg-open, etc, you can avoid having to save a file with a name to a location and then find that file to open it by just having a button that says "Open"…

9. Hide the unread count for spam

Currently, the Spam category shows a count of unread emails. This is kind of attention-grabbing when scanning the sidebar for what I should be paying attention to, so it would be nice to either not show it at all, or have an option not to show it.

The same goes for Trash emails, these things should be more “out of the way”.

This is especially annoying in the mobile app, because there is no way to hide the archive/spam/trash/all-mails like there is on web.

There are several requests and/or hacks for this on Reddit:

12. Transparency in Digital Services Builds Long-Term User Trust

ProtonMail has earned user trust by putting privacy and transparency first, and this approach could be extended even further through clearer explanations of how internal metrics and limits are calculated. When users manage subscriptions, storage usage, or plan upgrades, simple and transparent breakdowns help them make informed decisions without relying on guesswork.

Across the web, users are increasingly familiar with tools that clearly show how numbers are derived, similar to how platforms offering simulazione busta paga mensile explain structured calculations step by step. Applying the same clarity to ProtonMail’s account-related data would reinforce confidence while fully respecting privacy-first design…

13. Filter or sort Proton Pass items by urgency of attention needed

Proton Pass items can be sorted chronologically or alphabetically. But what I would like to do is sort them by how urgently I need to address issues. After an import from another password manager it would be great to be able to work down the list from compromised, vulnerable, weak. Or just be able to select all items that need attention.

17. Archive button will show the next email message after use

Right now, when I click on the Archive button, the email message archives and then the preview window shows nothing. It would be more efficient if the next email message would show instead so I don't have to click on the next message each time.

18. Sheets: Text Rotation

A simple suggestion to add text rotation as one of the text formatting options in sheets. If you're like me, who uses lots of vertical labels, not having them anymore is more frustrating than I thought it would be!

19. Include Standard Notes with Proton Subscription

Since Standard Notes (SN) is part of Proton, it should really be included in subscriptions, at least the unlimited plan. (For an "unlimited" subscription, there seems to be a growing list of limitations; first it didn't include SN, now it also doesn't include Lumo AI.) In Standard Notes' 2025 update (https://standardnotes.com/blog/2025-update), they said:

What has changed since we joined Proton is our capacity. Being part of the Proton family means we can draw on the resources of a larger organization...

Why is Proton spending money and/or time improving another service that doesn't benefit its own users? It's strange…

20. Proton Docs - Allow page style formatting ON/OFF

It is great to have free formatting for note taking, but for document collaboration in the context of a company or even just because some documents have to be printed, it would be crucial to enable ON/OFF page formatting and navigation in Proton Docs. Provide few popular option for page size format (A4, A3, and US equivalent e.g. Letter, etc.) and allow for Portrait or Landscape display.

Future features this could later enable (not the object of this request):
* Page numbering.
* Header/Footer for official company document templates.
* Enabling a PPT/Slide style formatting in Proton Docs if A3…
