  1. Lock Session Functionality

    When using Proton Mail on a laptop, it’s often convenient to keep the session open to avoid re-entering the password and 2FA code every time. However, this can become a security concern, especially on shared or work computers.

    I propose introducing a “Lock Session” feature, a temporary lock that can be unlocked using a quick PIN (similar to Proton VPN). This would allow users to secure their active session without having to go through the full login process again.

  3. Mail Plus Duo/Family

    I want to use proton for our family of 2, but we do not need all the features of the Duo plan -- we just want Mail and Calendar. It would be great if we had sort of a "Mail Plus Duo", "Mail Plus 2-Pack", or "Proton Duo Lite" plan at 5-6$/month for two people, as opposed to 8$/month for two separate Mail Plus subscriptions. The idea can be extended for more members.

    No other plan as of the time of writing fits our need at an attractive price point.
    * Proton Duo is 15$/month for two people, but we…

  4. Dark Mail Body Background with clear fonts AND Zoom

    HI,
    Due to my vision I need to set all my editors to Darl Background & Clear fonts WITH Zoom. Only set as this can I read text,
    This is what I can do for all desktop App, Office, Terminal and Code editor but not Proton Client for desktop,

    I use your web version confired as needed - the only draw back is that CONTACT Search is not as practical as on the Desktop version - which is too bright and hard to very very read for me.

    please, allow some feature on the Body content such as "Display in…

  5. Make the slider bar wider and with more contrast

    The slider bar on for example the Proton Pass web app/extension is so narrow and the contrast is terrible. It's like black on almost black. I've noticed this throughout the Proton ecosystem. Seems an easy fix. Double the width and change the colors to contrasting colors. Home run with nearly zero effort. I'm aware this sounds like your grandpa complaining. Now you kids get off my lawn.

  6. Introduction of a Proton Notes app as a secure alternative to Google Notes

    Description:
    A native note-taking app from Proton would add an important everyday tool to the portfolio while extending Proton's high privacy standards to note management. The app should offer the following core features:

    Extensive functionality – text notes, checklists, image and file attachments, formatting (bold, italics, bullet points) – in other words, the same level of performance as Google Notes.

    Intuitive user interface – quick creation, editing, and organization of notes via swipe gestures, drag-and-drop, and context-sensitive menus.
    Integration of “share” services – Users should be able to transfer content from other apps (e.g., Spotify, YouTube, podcasts) directly into a…

  8. Dark theme for loading and login pages

    Liked so far the overall dark theme but I think it still miss some features, i.e. the login page and the loading page flash a white&bright page, so it's kinda annoying the switch between light and dark page.
    The idea is that if the login/loading pages detect that you are using dark theme on the browser or in the OS, then there is no such a light pages.
    Thank you

  9. Make Proton user friendly for drafting emails with Undo / Redo button [Ctrl-Z / Ctrl-Y] like Gmail has

    Make Proton user friendly for drafting emails with the Undo / Redo button [ Ctrl-Z / Ctrl-Y ] like Gmail has.

    Without these FREE features, users like me can not properly draft a bit more complex emails with cut and/or copy and paste.

    Maybe it's just me but if these features do exist, they are not easy to find.

    Or are these Undo/Redo features just for none FREE accounts?

    If this is the case and the Undo/Redo feature is just for PAID accounts, it seems Proton management needs a rethink to keep their FREE features updated to what Gmail and…

  10. Allow payment for Proton subscription plans before the due date

    My renewal for Proton Duo is about a month away. I was looking on the Proton website for a way to pay for the next 12 months before the renewal date, but to no avail.

  11. Markdown notes app

    Markdown app request

    A secure, private markdown notes app would:
    * Open new revenue opportunities
    * Extend Proton’s privacy ecosystem
    * Expand customer's digital workflows
    * Leverage existing encryption technology
    * Clearly meet user demand (well, at least mine)
    * Reinforce the promise of “privacy by design.”

    I am using Obsidian and really like it, yet unencrypted notes on my devices is a significant concern.

  12. Hide unused labels instead of delete them

    Sometime a label is useful during a certain period of time. Despite a label is no longer applied to new messages, it is still important to be kept to tag old ones. For example, a messages related to a renovation you've made to your house in the past. The renovation is over, but you want to keep the history.

    For the sake of cleanliness, It would be useful to be able to hide unused old label from the side bar. Messages tag with that label should still be found though.

  13. I would like a way to get automatic updates when the Proton Breach Observatory is updated

    I see that there is a new Proton Observatory, I am a Proton user, If there was a feature such as an RSS version of this I can set a watch against it and be notified if the site is updated. Alternatively I need a way to sign up to be notified such as an email subscription list or similar.

  14. Add support for LaTeX documents

    Maybe the number of people who would use this feature is no enormous, but I still think there is a gap in the market that Proton could fill. Importantly, the people who would use this feature is willing to pay.

    There is essentially one popular option in the market which is Overleaf, which requires a paid subscription to share a document with more than 2 people, and it is amazingly expensive (€19 monthly). Yet many people pay for it (research funds, it is the university who actually pays).

    Probably this is not immediate to build, but maybe in the future...

  17. Proton ZeroTrust Gateway

    Product Concept Proton Zero‑Trust Gateway

    Vision

    Proton already protects outbound traffic through its VPN, giving users privacy and security when they connect to the internet. The next logical step is to give them the same level of confidence for inbound connections—letting them expose services (websites, APIs, SSH, RDP, IoT endpoints, etc.) without ever having to open ports or configure complex NAT rules. A “Zero‑Trust Gateway” would sit at the edge of a user’s network, authenticate every request, enforce fine‑grained policies, and only forward traffic that meets those policies to the private host.

    Core Pillars

    • Identity‑First Access – Every inbound request must…

  18. Title Use Proton Custom Items as an encrypted bookmark manager Category Feature request Description Proton already provides Proton Custom

    Title
    Use Proton Custom Items as an encrypted bookmark manager

    Category
    Feature request

    Description

    Proton already provides Proton Custom Items, a zero‑access‑encrypted database that lets users define arbitrary fields, filter, sort, and share rows. By creating a simple schema (Title, URL, Tags, Notes, Added Date, Last Visited) users can build a fully searchable, encrypted bookmark collection that syncs across web, iOS, Android, and desktop.

    Why this works today

    All data is encrypted end‑to‑end, matching Proton’s privacy guarantees.
    Structured fields enable fast lookup (e.g., “show me all bookmarks tagged privacy added last month”).
    Lumo can be used to add, retrieve, or query bookmarks via natural‑language prompts.
    Sharing…

  19. Make all apps able to update themselves independently of app stores

    Similar to what Signal does, it would be great to be able to install apps from the proton website, then update them from the app itself, without having to use the app store. This would reduce dependencies on App Stores that are run in (and potentially influenced by) authoritarian governments. Not having to trust Google Play or the Apple iStore (or whatever it's called) would be wonderful for those of us living under newly authoritarian governments, or anyone outside that country using those app stores.

  20. Please add organization tabs like gmail!

    Hello Proton Team,

    I really, really enjoy Proton, but I still miss gmail's organized tabs which conveniently kept things like routine Newsletters (Opted In Ads) and Forum Responses, etc. out of your regular mail inbox. I am so sick of the clutter, but I still want quick access to all of my new emails... Please keep in mind that this should be a very detailed filter as sometimes messages from a company are super important or self-set notifications, but sometimes they are just newsletter nonsense advertising whatever new service they are offering. I understand the the current filters may allow…
