4. Lumo needs to be a new journal app

   I'd love to see Lumo evolve into a dedicated personal journal mode.

   I've tried a lot of journaling apps over the years, and surprisingly, the way Lumo already works feels more natural than any of them. The conversational style, thoughtful responses, and ability to reflect on ideas make it a much better experience than traditional journal apps that simply store entries.

   What I'd love is an optional Journal Mode that presents conversations as a personal journal rather than a chat. For example:

   • Entries organized by date in a journal timeline or calendar.
   • A cleaner journal-style layout instead of a messaging interface.
   • Optional daily prompts and reflection questions.
   • The ability to revisit past entries by date, mood, or topic.
   • Insights showing recurring themes, personal growth, goals, and habits over time.
   • Privacy-focused features that reinforce the feeling of keeping a personal diary.

   The intelligence is already there—what's missing is a presentation layer that feels like opening a journal instead of a chat app.

   In many ways, Lumo already beats every journaling app I've tried because it doesn't just record thoughts; it helps me process them. Giving users the option to experience it as a journal would make it even more compelling and could replace a whole category of apps for people who want a more reflective, conversational journaling experience.

   Please make Proton meet available with the option for HD video (which can also be recorded in HD), and high resolution audio, for sharing music in stereo

9. Proton should purchase “Magic Earth” and convert it into Proton Maps, an open source high-quality maps app

   Magic Earth seems to be the best alternative available right now to Apple and Google Maps. The problem? It’s not open source and its privacy claims are not independently verified. Proton should consider offering to buy out the small company behind it, convert the app to Proton Maps, make it open source, and run an independent security audit on it.

   The UI design in Magic Earth is already pretty similar to Proton branding anyways. Easy win if Proton can afford it.

    The same as Privacy.com (US-only) and Halocard.co (all countries) work by generating virtual cards that keep your real credit card details private when buying stuff online.

    Once you have virtual cards for online payments build on it with contactless NFC payments that don't need Google Pay, which matters A LOT for us GrapheneOS users for the reasons everyone already knows.

    Yes there are banks, licensing and KYC involved BUT unless you live in a hole, making card payments is an essential service and an IMPROVED privacy posture where money is at risk is significantly better than NONE AT ALL.

    If you disagree with Proton building a financial product etc then fine, but at least mark this as rejected and/or partner with someone who can provide this with an option to activate it inside Proton Pass for convenience.

    The ADHD side of my brain found 6 threads over the past 3 years with more than 3,000 votes but none of them had a single, official response... Come on guys!

    The closest thing was a passing comment in an AMA with Andy Yen years ago that a user here paraphrased: "I'm personally quite interested in doing this, but there are lots of legal and regulatory hurdles so this is not the easiest one to do. But I have also heard from a lot of users that this is something they really want, and that will certainly be factored in our strategic planning." but that's it.

    Why not make an IDE. Proton is all about privacy so why not make one. You can easily integrate Lumo into the work space as a chat bot for building app structures, code, etc. You can integrate git repositories that have E2EE encryption as a part of privacy and have the ability to import files from proton drive or save files to the drive

20. A simple zero knowledge peer-to-peer file transfer service

    I believe this technology already exists. My understanding of it might be incorrect or limited as I'm not a developer myself.

    Essentially, when using WebRTC, the transferred data does not need to be saved on a server, but there has to be a relay server to connect the two computers. That means the users themselves carry the cost of storage and data transfer. Copyright infringement or other illegal material would not be an issue either as the service provider is comparable to a phoneline operator.

    Commercial comparables include ToffeeShare (EU) & partially Wormhole (United States). Wormhole saves files smaller than 5 GB for 24 hours in order to enable the ability to pause and resume. ToffeeShare does not save any data, which means the transfer must always be fully completed or it must restart from zero. This can be an issue for large files and unstable connections. Both are closed source, so one has to take their word for it.

    Many FOSS comparables exist, such as Magic Wormhole & croc. These are perfectly functional but don't satisfy an average person's UX expectations.

    Such a service would likely not be a revenue driver, but would make a useful addition to the Proton toolkit.
