Make a deal with Fairphone to become the default digital workspace provider for their /e/OS phones
Proton should make a deal with Fairphone to become the default digital workspace provider for their phones that run /e/OS. It would be a great way to promote the Proton app ecosystem, while also promoting Fairphone. Ensuring that your apps run well on /e/OS would mean that Proton provides support for most deGoogled versions of Android.
Having the Proton apps be the default digital workspace provider on the Fairphone 6 with /e/OS would get a lot of media coverage. You might even be able to convince Fairphone to provide a promotion in which Fairphone users get a discounted introductory rate…

Putting priority on the development of mobile applications, investing more in web versions does not make sense
I think prioritizing the environment where the overwhelming majority of users are is indisputable, but here we are seeing strange behavior, the web versions are very developed, while the mobile apps seem abandoned.
Which doesn't make sense, since most people don't even know that there is a web version of their apps.4 votes -

Move away from Electron apps
Many apps that Proton uses are built with Electron, which are much less secure and much more bloated than native apps
https://www.privacyguides.org/articles/2024/11/30/pwa-vs-iwa/#current-web-based-apps
I think it would be really cool if all of Proton's apps could be native ones.5 votes -

Make Proton Notes a Separate Application
Make Proton Notes a separate application. Having Proton Notes as a part of Proton Pass is somewhat problematic. They really are two different things and one needs to be able to use them independently. Also, please add a checkbox list to Proton Notes. And, of course, please roll it out for Linux users at the same time it's rolled out for MacOS and Windows.

Request for Free IMAP/POP3 Access
I understand that IMAP/POP3 is currently gated behind paid plans. As a committed advocate for privacy, I kindly request that you unlock basic IMAP and POP3 access for all free accounts, even if subject to reasonable limits (e.g., sync frequency, folder count).
This change will:
Enable users with financial constraints to adopt Proton Mail.
Strengthen Proton’s position as the go-to privacy provider by removing a major blocker to migration.
I am eager to beta-test and provide feedback on this functionality or any of the above proposals.
Thank you for considering these suggestions. I remain a loyal Proton user and look…

preload or preload on startup or a toggle
When launching proton apps. Allow parts of the app to be preloaded, or if the app is set to be launched when the app starts on pc startup. It would depend on how much ram is available. This would improve the speed and or the responsiveness of the app. A toggle could be added.

Mass unsharing in Proton Drive
For the folks that share a lot of drives, it can be quite a hassle selecting each individual item in the share tab to stop sharing. It would be cool if we could select all of them and unshare with one click.

Utilize the Privacy Pass protocol
https://blog.kagi.com/kagi-privacy-pass
https://www.privacyguides.org/articles/2025/04/21/privacy-pass/
Privacy Pass is a protocol that allows people to cryptographically prove they have access to a service without revealing who they are. I think Proton could be able to use this in really cool ways, for example to prevent Proton from correlating Proton VPN activity to users, or to use SimpleLogin aliases without Proton being able to correlate the alias from the original email.10 votes
